Abstract

Stunting can be caused by many factors such as socio-economics, exclusive breastfeeding, parenting patterns, timing of giving MP-ASI, history of infectious diseases, environmental sanitation, and the role of community leaders. The many factors that influence the occurrence of stunting mean that one of the efforts that can be made to reduce the prevalence of stunting is to identify the factors that influence the occurrence of stunting. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the occurrence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months. This research is a case control study of 75 stunted toddlers and 75 control toddlers aged 24-59 months in the Muara Delang Community Health Center working area for the period February 2023. Independent variables include family income, mother's education level, parenting style, exposure to information, exclusive breastfeeding, history of infectious diseases, dental health, the role of health cadres and the role of community leaders; while the strongest variable in this study was the incidence of stunting. The instrument used in data collection is a questionnaire, then the data will be processed using regression test data analysis. The results of the study show that the factors that influence the incidence of stunting in the Muara Delang Community Health Center work area are parenting style (p=0.049 and B=1.557), exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.005 and B=1.300), dental health (p=0.048 and B = 0.764) and family income (p=0.049 and B=0.763). Parenting style is the most influential factor in the occurrence of stunting in the Muara Delang Community Health Center working area.

Abstract

Background: Dengue fever remains a recurring public health issue in many tropical regions, including Indonesia. Over recent years, fluctuations in dengue cases have been linked to changes in environmental conditions, particularly temperature, humidity, and rainfall. These climatic factors may affect mosquito survival, breeding, and virus transmission. Purpose: To describe the dynamics of climate factors on the incidence of dengue fever. Method: A quantitative ecological approach based on secondary data. Dengue case reports were obtained from the Banyumas District Health Office, while climate data were sourced from NASA POWER and the Central Statistics Agency. The variables analyzed included temperature, humidity, rainfall, and population density. Multiple linear regression was used to determine the factors most strongly associated with dengue incidence. Results: Temperature (p = 0.022), humidity (p = 0.024), and population density (p = 0.039) showed significant associations with dengue incidence. Rainfall, however, was not statistically significant (p = 0.545). The overall regression model was significant (p < 0.001) with an R² value of 28.6%. These findings are consistent with prior evidence indicating that climate variables typically explain 20–40% of dengue fluctuations. Warmer temperatures and high humidity provide favorable conditions for Aedes aegypti survival and viral transmission, contributing to elevated case numbers in Banyumas. Conclusion: Temperature, humidity, and population density are key contributors to dengue incidence, while rainfall plays a lesser role. These variables should be integrated into climate-based early warning systems to strengthen dengue prevention efforts.   Keywords: Climate Factors; Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever; Humidity; Temperature.   Pendahuluan: Demam Berdarah Dengue masih menjadi persoalan kesehatan yang berulang di wilayah tropis, termasuk Indonesia. Selama beberapa tahun terakhir, perubahan jumlah kasus dengue sering dikaitkan dengan dinamika kondisi lingkungan seperti suhu, kelembapan, dan curah hujan. Faktor-faktor iklim tersebut memengaruhi perkembangbiakan nyamuk, tingkat kelangsungan hidup vektornya, serta proses penularan virus. Tujuan: Untuk menggambarkan dinamika faktor iklim terhadap kejadian demam berdarah dengue. Metode: Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain ekologi berbasis data sekunder. Data kasus dengue diperoleh dari Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Banyumas, sementara data iklim bersumber dari NASA POWER dan Badan Pusat Statistik. Variabel yang dianalisis meliputi suhu, kelembapan, curah hujan, dan kepadatan penduduk. Analisis regresi linear berganda digunakan untuk menentukan faktor yang memiliki kontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan kasus. Hasil: Suhu (p = 0.022), kelembapan (p = 0.024), dan kepadatan penduduk (p = 0.039), menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan terhadap kejadian dengue. Curah hujan tidak menunjukkan signifikansi statistik (p = 0.545). Model regresi secara keseluruhan signifikan (p < 0.001) dengan nilai R² sebesar 28.6%. Temuan ini selaras dengan literatur yang menyatakan bahwa faktor iklim umumnya berkontribusi sekitar 20-40% terhadap variasi kasus dengue. Suhu hangat dan kelembapan tinggi menciptakan kondisi yang mendukung kelangsungan hidup Aedes aegypti, sehingga kasus dengue meningkat. Simpulan: Suhu, kelembapan, dan kepadatan penduduk merupakan faktor penting yang memengaruhi kejadian dengue, sedangkan curah hujan memiliki peran lebih kecil. Parameter-parameter ini perlu dipertimbangkan dalam pengembangan sistem peringatan dini berbasis iklim untuk memperkuat upaya pencegahan dengue.   Kata Kunci: Demam Berdarah Dengue; Faktor Iklim; Kelembapan; Suhu.
