Abstract

This article examines thoughts of Prof. Dr. Mujamil Qomar, M.Ag. which expressly states that the success of Islamic education in the level of realityexpectations one of which is determined by the management of Islamic education that serves the task of advancing the implementation, implementation or application of Islamic education institutionally. Among Qomar's thoughts on the management of Islamic education that is pithy and deserves an in-depth study is the nature of Islamic education management and its implications, philosophical objects and praxis as well as the dimensions of Islamic education management, the characteristics and characteristics of Islamic education management, the difference between Islamic education management and education management , as well as about the existence and constraints of Islamic education management. Thought Qomar can be explored clearly in three works, namely Manajemen Pendidikan Islam: Strategi Baru Pengelolaan Lembaga Pendidikan Islam (Management of Islamic Education: New Strategy Management of Islamic Education Institutions), Dimensions of Management of Islamic Education, and Strategy of Islamic Education, as well as other works that are not directly related to the discussion of Islamic education management.

Abstract

Discourse on the relationship between religion and state will always be hotly discussed in various discussions and studies. This shows how important the relationship between the two terms is. Religion is a deep belief for its adherents, but when the state does not provide a sense of security for the implementation of religious teachings, it will cause turmoil in society. Likewise, in its implementation, the state also needs the presence of religion, so that in the state it can be more orderly and directed according to religious values. So far, there have been some different understandings among Muslims regarding the relationship between religion and state. Where some assume that the issue of religion and state cannot be united in its implementation, this is what is practiced by some countries that consider religion and state to be separated (secular understanding). Likewise, there are those who have the opinion that religion is not only a dogma, but religion provides a foundation for reconstructing the system or values of religion in building the state.

Abstract

This paper discusses the relevance of hermeneutics as a method of liberation in reconstructing gender understanding within the texts of the Qur’an and Hadith. Gender issues in Islamic discourse often do not originate directly from the revealed texts, but rather from interpretive traditions shaped by patriarchal social contexts. Therefore, this study aims to demonstrate that hermeneutical approaches—particularly liberation hermeneutics and gender hermeneutics—can function as methodological instruments for rereading religious texts critically, contextually, and with an orientation toward justice. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach and hermeneutical analysis of Qur’anic verses and hadiths related to gender relations. The analysis focuses on QS. an-Nis?’: 34 and hadiths concerning female leadership through linguistic criticism, historical contextualization, and ethical evaluation. The findings indicate that concepts traditionally understood hierarchically, such as qiw?mah, are more appropriately interpreted as contextual responsibility rather than ontological superiority. Furthermore, hadiths that appear discriminatory toward women must be understood situationally and reoriented toward the Qur’an’s normative principles of justice and humanity. This study affirms that hermeneutics as a method of liberation is highly relevant in the Indonesian context for developing Islamic thought that is inclusive, responsive to social change, and committed to gender justice. Thus, gender reconstruction through hermeneutics is not an effort to liberalize the text, but rather an intellectual endeavor to actualize the spirit of Islamic justice in contemporary life.
