Abstract

Recognition of the customary law of indigenous people is an integral part of the recognition to their existence as a whole. The 1989 ILO Convention concerning Indigenous and Tribal People in Independent Countries is an international instrument which obligates its parties to recognize indigenous people as well as its customary law. Ecuador and Norway are parties to the convention which will be used as examples for the implementation of the convention in recognizing respective indigenous people and laws. The indigenous people of both countries have similar history of struggles in obtaining the state’s recognition, and at the end they’re recognized through the constitution of their respective states. In the process of recognition, however, Ecuador and Norway have different but unique and typical characteristics with different results. These different characteristics and results are related to the different situations and conditions of the indigenous people and the political environment in Ecuador and Norway.

Abstract

Abstrak : Perkembangan teknologi dan inovasi bahan bangunan terus meningkat, memungkinkan munculnya alternatif beton normal, seperti high density concrete (HDC) menggunakan limbah besi dan fly ash. Inovasi ini bertujuan menciptakan beton dengan kepadatan tinggi yang ramah lingkungan, mengurangi limbah dari masyarakat dan pabrik, serta menjadi alternatif bahan tambah pada agregat halus dan semen. Proses pembuatan HDC melibatkan persiapan material, termasuk pemeriksaan berat isi, analisis saringan agregat, kadar lumpur, kadar air, berat jenis, dan penyerapan agregat kasar serta halus, serta pengolahan limbah besi menjadi serbuk. Metode perancangan campuran beton menggunakan metode DoE (Department of Environment) berdasarkan SNI 03-2834-2000, mencakup penentuan kuat tekan rata-rata, faktor air semen, kadar air bebas, jumlah semen, persentase agregat halus dan kasar, serta komposisi campuran beton segar dan lapangan. Hasil pengujian pada tiga benda uji berbentuk silinder (15/30 cm) dan satu benda uji berbentuk kubus (15 cm × 15 cm × 15 cm) menunjukkan slump sebesar 22 cm. Berat isi beton segar berkisar antara 2508,139 Kg/m³ hingga 2533,962 Kg/m³, sementara berat isi beton kering berkisar antara 2507,547 Kg/m³ hingga 2530,189 Kg/m³. Pengujian berat jenis beton kering menunjukkan nilai 2,5, sedangkan kuat tekan benda uji mencapai 42,80 MPa hingga 46,54 MPa. Inovasi ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan limbah besi dan fly ash dalam HDC dapat menghasilkan beton dengan kepadatan tinggi dan performa mekanik yang baik.
