Abstract

Diabetes mellitus merupakan penyakit dengan karakteristik hiperglikemia. Kondisi hiperglikemia dapat memperburuk diabetes mellitus dengan munculnya berbagai macam komplikasi penyakit lainnya. Penurunan kadar glukosa darah pada kondisi hiperglikemia dapat dilakukan dengan terapi herbal. Salah satu bentuk terapi herbal adalah dengan menggunakan terapi air rebusan daun jambu biji. Daun jambu biji ini  mengandung  tanin dan  kalsium dimana  tanin menghambat   enzim  α-glikosidase  sehingga melambatkan pelepasan glukosa dalam darah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh pemberian air rebusan daun jambu biji (Psidium guajava) terhadap penderita diabetes mellitus tipe II di Desa Leyangan Kec. Ungaran Timur Kab. Semarang.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment. Jenis desain dalam penelitian ini non equivalent (pretest & posttest) Control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh  penderita  diabetes  mellitus  tipe  II  yang  ada  di  Desa  Leyangan  Kec.  Ungaran  Timur  Kab. Semarang sebanyak 170 orang. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 28 responden yang dibagi dalam kelompok kontrol dan intervensi. Metode pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan tehnik populasi purposive sampling sedangkan alat pengambilan data dengan menggunakan blood glocuse test meter. Analisis data menggunakan uji parametrik t-test dependent dan independent. Uji analisis t-tes dependen dan independen menunjukkan ada pengaruh pemberian air rebusan daun jambu biji  (Psidium guajava) terhadap kadar glukosa darah pada penderita diabetes mellitus tipe II di Desa Leyangan  Kec. Ungaran Timur Kab. Semarang dengan  (p-value 0,014 < α (0,05)). Terapi air rebusan  daun  jambu  biji  dapat digunakan  sebagai alternatif intervensi  untuk penatalaksanaan  dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah pada penderita diabetes mellitus tipe II.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of snack intervention on student nutritional and anemia status at Pasanggrahan 2 elementary school. Design study was experimental one–group pretest-postest design and was conducted at Pasanggrahan 2 elementary school in Purwakarta from August to December 2012.  The total number of fifty three students were selected purposively. The primery data were collected namely: household social economi and student characteritics, food habbit, nutritional and anemia status. The result of study showed that the energy and protein contribution to average of students nutrition adequate was 17.9% and 23.6% respectively. While the contribution of snack energy and protein to average of daily total nutrition consumption was 26.7% and 31.3% respectively. There was significant difference of student nutritional and anemia status before and after snack intervention as additional school feeding.
