Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulty, causal factors, and solutions to overcome difficulties in reading hiragana experienced by students of class XI IPS SMA Taruna Nusantara. The approach used in this research is quantitative approach using descriptive research method. The sample in this research is the students of class XI IPS SMA Taruna Nusantara who take the subjects cross the interest of Japanese language amounted to 19 students. The technique of collecting data used is questionnaire. Based on the research results can be concluded that students’ difficulties are reading the symbols of sokuon sounds, distinguishing similar hiragana letters, reading the yoo’on sounds, reading the handakuon sounds, and reading the dakuon sounds. The factors are the lack of students’ ability to read hiragana properly, the lack of reference books owned by students to practice reading hiragana, the lack of ability of students in solving the problem of reading hiragana in a timely manner, and the lack of hiragana reading practice outside of Japanese language lessons. The solution to overcome those difficulties are that students are expected to arrange the time when completing the test question of hiragana, students are expected to increase the practice of reading hiragana outside of Japanese language lessons, and students are expected to be more creative by adding reference books other than Sakura’s book to practice reading hiragana, such as Nihongo Kana Nyuumon and Marugoto.

Abstract

This study aims to produce lesson plans that are in accordance with the 2013 curriculum anddevelop a Math Learning Design Assisted with Number Cards for Grade II Elementary SchoolMultiplication Materials in everyday life. This type of research is research and development usingthe ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Development Implement-Evaluation) model, but this research is only carried out until the development stage. This research was conducted at SDN 105341 DurianVillage. The data collection instrument used is a questionnaire. The subjects in this study were 4validators. The types of data in this study are qualitative data and quantitative data. The results of the questionnaire validation are in the form of learning designs and learning media. The resulting lesson plans are very feasible to use with a score of 80% with the criteria of "very good" so that the lesson plans can be used or applied in the learning process. The resulting number card media is suitable for use with a score of 85% with the criteria of "Very Eligible" so that learning media can be used or applied in the learning process.
