Abstract

Kabupaten Tegal memiliki cukup banyak peristiwa masa lampau yang bersemayam di dalamnya. Namun sayangnya, kini banyak generasi muda yang belum mengetahui mengenai sejarah lokal yang berada di daerahnya, sehingga nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang terkandung di dalam sejarah masih belum tersampaikan secara maksimal. Dalam pembelajaran sejarah, khusunya mengenai Ki Gede Sebayu, erat kaitannya dengan pendidikan karakter, sehingga dengan mempelajari sejarah Ki Gede Sebayu harapannya dapat menyampaikan nilai-nilai karakter yang terkandung di dalamnya. Namun, anggapan bahwa belajar sejarah itu membosankan masih sering ditemui di sebagian generasi muda, sehingga hal ini bisa yang kerap menjadi penghambat generasi muda untuk mempelajari sejarah Ki Gede Sebayu. Maka dari itu, Penulis ingin membuat sebuah inovasi pembelajaran sejarah yang lebih menarik. Berdasarkan konteks permasalahan yang dikaji peneliti, penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berdasarkan kajian kepustakaan serta bersifat eksploratif dan evaluatif. Penelitian eksploratif dilakukan dengan tujuan mengetahui informasi yang lebih jauh dan lebih dalam mengenai sejarah Ki Gede Sebayu yang akan diimplementasikan dalam platform TikTok. Hasil dari inovasi media pembelajaran tersebut dapat memotivasi peserta didik untuk mempelajari sejarah lokal Ki Gede Sebayu. Kata kunci: sejarah lokal, pendidikan karakter, platform TikTok Tegal Regency has a rich history with numerous past events embedded within it. Unfortunately, many young people are currently unaware of the local history in their area. As a result, the valuable lessons and wisdom encompassed in this history are not being optimally conveyed. Learning about history, particularly regarding Ki Gede Sebayu, is closely intertwined with character education. By studying the history of Ki Gede Sebayu, it is hoped that the character values embedded therein can be effectively communicated. However, the notion that studying history is boring remains prevalent among some of the younger generation, thereby hindering their exploration of Ki Gede Sebayu's history. Consequently, the authors aim to introduce a more captivating approach to history education. In accordance with the research problems, this study employs qualitative methods based on a literature review, encompassing exploratory and evaluative aspects. The exploratory research phase was conducted to gather comprehensive and in-depth information about the history of Ki Gede Sebayu, which will be implemented on the TikTok platform. The outcome of this innovative learning media is expected to motivate students to engage with the local history of Ki Gede Sebayu. Keywords: local history, character education, TikTok platform

Abstract

Indonesia saat ini sudah berada di era Revolusi Industri 4.0, dimana pelajar sudah tidak asing lagi dengan kemajuan teknologi khususnya game. Namun sayangnya, pelajar masih belum bisa menempatkan diri dan menggunakan teknologi secara bijak. Akibatnya, banyak pelajar yang “kecanduan game”. Jika hal ini dibiarkan maka pendidikan karakter pelajar akan terancam. Melalui pendidikan sejarah, diharapkan mampu memberikan angin segar bagi para pelajar karena sejarah merupakan salah satu bagian penting untuk menjadi identitas dan penguat bangsa. Tetapi faktanya, pembelajaran sejarah masih dianggap membosankan bahkan dianggap tidak penting. Realita ini tentu menggeser keberadaan sejarah lokal yang masih belum jelas kedudukannya di dalam kurikulum. Padahal, nilai-nilai yang terkandung di dalam sejarah lokal dapat dijadikan acuan guna mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter. Salah satu contohnya adalah sejarah Lokal Ki Gede Sebayu yang merupakan bupati pertama dan memiliki peran penting dalam sejarah Kabupaten Tegal. Berdasarkan konteks permasalahan yang dikaji, penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif berdasarkan kajian kepustakaan dan observasi, dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui lebih jauh mengenai sejarah Ki Gede Sebayu. Game Edukasi Way Out Labirin Ki Gede Sebayu diharapkan menjadi solusi alternatif agar pelajar mengenal sejarah lokal di daerahnya sendiri. Melaui game labirin yang sudah familiar di kalangan pelajar, dapat menjadi pemantik tersendiri agar mereka tetap mempelajari sejarah dengan cara yang asik dan tidak membosankan. Kata Kunci: Game Edukasi, Pendidikan Karakter, Sejarah Lokal Indonesia is currently experiencing the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, wherein students are no longer unfamiliar with technological advances, especially in the realm of gaming. Unfortunately, many students struggle to position themselves and use technology wisely, leading to a significant number becoming "addicted to games." If this trend is allowed to persist, it poses a threat to students' character education. It is hoped that through history education, a breath of fresh air can be provided for students, as history plays a crucial role in shaping identity and strengthening the nation. In reality, however, learning history is still often considered boring and even deemed unimportant. This perception, in turn, affects the status of local history in the curriculum, which remains unclear. The values embedded in local history can serve as a reference for implementing character education. One illustrative example is the local history of Ki Gede Sebayu, the first regent who played a significant role in the history of Tegal Regency. Given the context of the problem under study, this research adopts a qualitative descriptive method based on literature review and observation to delve deeper into the history of Ki Gede Sebayu. The "Way Out: Labirin Ki Gede Sebayu" educational game is proposed as an alternative solution, aiming to engage students in learning about their local history. Leveraging the popularity of labyrinth games among students, this educational game is designed to stimulate interest in history in a fun and non-boring manner. Abstract

History learning has a vital role in developing students' knowledge. However, it often faces challenges such as a lack of interest, which can make students feel bored, and often repeated material. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental design to identify students' learning motivation in history subjects in class XI SMA Negeri 3 Semarang, both in groups that receive project-based learning and those that do not. The research results showed that the average pre-test score for the experimental class was 114.125, and for the control class was 110.125. Analysis of the coefficient of determination shows that around 24% of the variation in learning motivation can be explained using project-based learning. In contrast, the remainder, 76%, is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. These findings confirm that project-based learning significantly impacts students' learning motivation in the context of history learning in high schools and can provide valuable insights for developing more effective and engaging learning strategies in the future.

Abstract

History learning has great potential in building students' historical awareness. However, most students still find it difficult to understand historical concepts, especially those related to past events and cannot be experienced directly. This research evaluates how effective the outing class method is in comparison to traditional methods for enhancing history learning outcomes. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design that incorporates pre-tests and post-tests within the control group, a quantitative approach is employed in this study. A sample comprising two classes X at SMA N 1 Dukuhwaru was determined using a random sampling technique. The experimental group engaged with the outing class method, whereas the control group followed the conventional approach. Findings from the paired sample t-test indicated a notable improvement in the experimental group (p < 0.05), with the average post-test score rising from 71.3 to 89.0, while the control group only increased from 66.7 to 69.8. Bibliometric analysis also shows a lack of similar research in the historical context. The study confirms that Outing Classes can significantly improve student learning outcomes, as well as recommending broader implementation in the history curriculum for a more contextual and interactive learning experience.
