Abstract

Cauda epididymal sperm could be used as an alternative of male gamete source for application in reproductive technology, because the sperm is motile and has ability for fertilizing oocyte. This sperm could be collected from life or death animal, then it might be processed for chilling or freezing. Epididymis from death animal could also be preserved at 5°C for several days before collecting and processing. Cauda epididymal sperm which has motility more than 40% can be applied for artificial insemination (AI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF) programs. Key words: Cauda epididymal spermatozoa, Al, IVF

Abstract

Simpur (Dillenia indica Linn) merupakan tanaman yang digunakan secara empiris sebagai obattradisional. Daun simpur memiliki nilai LD50 lebih dari 5000 mg/kgBB yang dapat dikategorikanpraktis tidak toksik sehingga tanaman ini berpotensi untuk dikembangkan. Namun, belum tersediainformasi mengenai keamanan terhadap penggunaan ekstrak etanol daun simpur (EEDS) yangdigunakan secara berulang selama 28 hari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahuihubungan dosis dan toksisitas pada pemberian oral secara berulang ekstrak etanol daun bintangurselama 28 hari terhadap perubahan indeks organ jantung, hati dan lambung pada tikus putih (Rattusnorvegicus L.) galur wistar. Daun simpur diekstraksi menggunkan metode maserasi dengan pelarutetanol 96%. Hewan uji dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok yang terdiri dari 7 ekor tikus jantan dan tikusbetina. Induksi dan pengamatan dilakukan selama 28 hari untuk kelompok kontrol dan dosis,sedangkan kelompok satelit hanya dilakukan pengamatan yang dilebihkan 14 hari untukmengamati efek reversibilitas. Pengujian toksisitas subkronik dilakukan dengan pemberian dosiskontrol, dosis 100 mg/kgBB, dosis 400 mg/kgBB, dosis 1000 mg/kgBB, satelit dosis 1000mg/kgBB dan dosis satelit kontrol. Hewan uji dideterminasi dan dibedah untuk mengamati indeksorgan jantung, hati dan lambung. Hasil pengamatan data indeks organ tikus jantan menunjukkanbahwa adanya kenaikan indeks organ yang signifikan pada organ hati kelompok satelit dosis atas 1000 mg/KgBB sedangkan pada organ jantung dan lambung tidak terjadi perbedaan yangsignifikan. Hasil yang diperoleh pada data indeks organ tikus betina menunjukkan adanya kenaikanindeks organ hati secara signifikan pada kelompok dosis 1000 mg/KgBB yang diberikan ekstraketanol daun simpur terhadap kelompok kontrol, sedangkan pada organ jantung dan lambung tidakterjadi perbedaan yang signifikan. Kesimpulannya pemberian EEDS secara berulang selama 28hari relatif aman terhadap organ jantung dan lambung, akan tetapi pada indeks organ hati tikusjantan dan betina mengalami peningkatan pada dosis 1000 mg/KgBB bersifat irreversibel. Abstract

Bencana banjir belakangan ini sering melanda kota-kota di Indonesia yang mengakibatkan kerugian yang sangat besar, dalam kaitan ini termasuk juga di Kecamatan Selakau Kabupaten Sambas, kondisi ini terjadi pada tahun 2002 selama hampir dua minggu. Peristiwa banjir besar 20 tahun terakhir di Desa Kecamatan Selakau terjadi pada tahun 1991, tahun 1993, tahun 1996, tahun 2000, tahun 2002, tahun 2006 dan tahun 2008. Berdasarkan hasil analisa kapasitas tampung maksimum sungai Selakau ini tidak dapat menampung debit banjir maksimum. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada grafik antara Q saluran dan Q akibat air pasang disertai Q akibat hujan yang cukup tinggi. Sepanjang kawasan Sungai Selakauini sebagian mengalami genangan saat terjadi pasang tinggi disertai curah hujan maksimum harian dengan periode 10 tahun, penampang yang ada sekarang sudah tidak dapat menampung lagi maka sebaiknya penampang yang ada sekarang di lakukan normalisasi pada alur sungai selakau

Abstract

The Village Fund allocation is very important in order to finance the development of disadvantaged areas in a development area system. The implementation of the Village Fund Allocation is aimed at physical and non-physical programs related to Village development indicators, which include education level, community income level, and health level. One of the rational reasons why there is a need for Village Fund Allocation (ADD) is because the village is positioned as the basis for decentralization. The ADD policy is very relevant to the perspective that places the village as the basis for participation, because the village is directly facing the community and community control is stronger.This study aims to determine the implementation of the Bumdes budget feasibility in accordance with the type of business program, and to determine the implementation of the Bumdes program in managing the budget allocated in the Tarowang sub-district, Jeneponto Regency.This research was obtained from several observations and interviews with related parties, this type of research is descriptive qualitative by selecting several informants. The data source used is the primary data source that is information sourced from direct observation of the research location by observation and interview. While secondary data sources are data sources obtained from documentation or literature studies to supplement primary data. Field research data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Bumdes budget suitability in accordance with the type of business program in the Tarowang sub-district of Jeneponto district is considered feasible, but the implementation of the Bumdes program in managing the budget allocated in the Tarowang sub-district is less than optimal because of the lack of capabilities and human resource skills

Abstract

Yaw Misalignment condition has detrimental effects on the performance and efficiency of hydrokinetic turbines. This phenomenon occurs when the direction of water flow hitting the turbine blades is not aligned with the turbine's movement direction. In this research, an analysis is conducted on the performance of a hydrokinetic turbine equipped with a diffuser shroud under Yaw Misalignment conditions, considering variations in water flow velocity. The dataset used in this study consists of water flow velocity data, yaw angles, tip speed ratio (TSR), and power coefficient (Cp) of a 19.8 cm diameter horizontal-axis hydrokinetic turbine operating under Yaw Misalignment conditions. Experiments were conducted at three water flow velocity levels: 0.7 m/s, 0.9 m/s, and 1.1 m/s. Additionally, yaw angle variations were applied ranging from 0° to 25° at 5° intervals. Data analysis involved the application of Pearson correlation analysis and descriptive statistical analysis to identify the maximum Cp values. The analysis results indicate that the highest maximum Cp value is 0.711, with a tip speed ratio (TSR) of 4.33, achieved at a yaw angle of 0° and a water flow velocity of 0.9 m/s. This indicates that under these conditions, the turbine reaches its peak performance in converting water flow energy into mechanical power.
