Abstract

Home industry in Polewali Mandar Regency in 2014 reached 6,035 industries. The number of micro and small businesses increased 1.34 percent. The workforce involved in micro and small industries reached 13,470 people. Polewali Mandar main area which incidentally has a Mandar tribe has some special culinary. One of them is Golla Kambu or what is commonly called Wajik Lokal Mandar. These local Mandar food entrepreneurs adjust the market because it has become a typical local snack. In fact, now Golla Kambu has been eyeing foreign tourists when they travel in West Sulawesi. Along the road in Lagi-Agi Village, Campalagian Subdistrict precisely Polewali Mandar, many of the Mandar local food are often found. Along the way we will find many stalls that provide this food with different prices and flavors. One of the other advantages of this food is that it is durable, even though it does not use preservatives, Golla Kambu can last for months using only a wrapper of dried banana leaves. To make Golla Kambu is actually very simple, practical and the material is easy to obtain. The basic ingredients are only three, namely selected glutinous rice, palm sugar and young grated coconut. Three main ingredients are mixed into one, put in a suitable bowl or place and then cooked for several hours to form a good mixture. The end result is then wrapped in dried banana leaves in a small size. Besides its simple taste, the price is quite affordable for visitors. The famous Golla Kambu in Mandar comes from the area of Lagi-Agi Village, Campalagian Subdistrict, Polewali Mandar Regency.

Abstract

Penyuluh pertanian diakui menjadi sarana kebijaksanaan yang efektif untuk mendorong pembangunan pertanian dalam situasi petani tidak mampu mencapai tujuannya karena keterbatasan pengetahuan dan wawasan, untuk itu partisipasi petani sangat penting dalam penyuluhan pertanian. Partisipasi petani dalam kegiatan penyuluhan pertanian vberperan penting dalam pengentasan kemiskinan, perbaikan kapasitas pengambilan keputusan, peningkatan produktivatas pertanian dan peroleh pengetahuan baru dalam pertanian. Namun untuk dapat berpartisipasi dalam penyuluhan pertanian terdapat banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi partisipasi petani padi sawah dalam kegiatan penyuluhan pertanian di Kecamatan Bantimurung, Kabupaten Maros. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan ini yaitu metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan analisis logistic biner sebanyak 98 responden petani padi sawah. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, faktor usia, tingkat pendidikan, luas lahan, kosmopolitan, keterampilan penyuluh, sikap penyuluh, media penyuluhan dan materi penyuluhan berpengaruh terhadap partisipasi petani padi sawah dalam kegiatan penyuluhan pertanian di Kecamatan Bantimurung, Kabupaten Maros. Sedangkan faktor jumlah tanggungan keluarga, pendapatan, keanggotaan kelompok tani, dan pengetahuan penyuluh tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap partisipasi petani padi sawah dalam kegiatan penyuluhan pertanian di Kecamatan Bantimurung, Kabupaten Maros. Agricultural extension services are recognized as an effective expert tool to encourage agricultural development in situations where farmers are unable to achieve their goals due to limited knowledge and insight, therefore farmer participation is very important in agricultural extension. Farmers' participation in agricultural extension activities plays an important role in poverty alleviation, increasing decision-making capacity, increasing agricultural productivity and obtaining new knowledge in agriculture. However, to be able to participate in agricultural extension there are many factors that affect farmers. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the participation of lowland rice farmers in agricultural extension activities in Bantimurung District, Maros Regency. The research method used is a quantitative research method using binary logistic analysis as many as 98 rice paddy farmer respondents. Based on the test results, the factors of age, education level, land area, cosmopolitan, extension skills, attitudes, extension media and extension materials affect the participation of lowland rice farmers in agricultural extension activities in Bantimurung District, Maros Regency. Meanwhile, the number of family dependents, income, farmer groups, and extension knowledge had no significant effect on the participation of lowland rice farmers in agricultural extension activities in Bantimurung District, Maros Regency.
