Abstract

The acquisition is one of several company strategies to grow and develop. However, it has consequences on changes in the structure of the company and employees. The cultural collision and downsizing issues as consequences between two or more organizations involved in the acquisition process tend to give negative responses within the work environment. Whereas, to succeed in the acquisition process needed a positive environment that has an impact on good employee engagement further increasing knowledge sharing behavior among employees. Furthermore, feeling trusted among employees plays an important role because it leads feeling of justice, encouragement, and determines to what extent the employee has behaved in sharing knowledge. Hence, the aim of the present pilot study determines the validity, suitability, and reliability of a research instrument in preparation for a large scales study to examine the role of feeling trusted on employee engagement and knowledge sharing behavior in post-acquisition enterprises

Abstract

This study aims to identify the most important work motivation factors for Generation Z that can serve as a solid basis for practical decision-making to determine strategies for employers in attracting and retaining Generation Z employees who will dominate the workforce in Indonesia in the future. A mixed methods approach was used in this study. Quantitative instruments are used for MWMS (Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale) while interviews are used for qualitative instruments. This study involved 293 employees as questionnaire respondents and 5 employees as resource persons. At the quantitative stage, introjection rules are prominent in controlled motivation, and in autonomous motivation, there is an emphasis on identified rules. At the qualitative stage, of the six MWMS factors, four appear more often in the analysis Content of the interview: The need for autonomy, competence, relationships, and compensation. Relationships are the most prevalent, four of the six factors. In addition, it was found that flexibility is another motivational factor that is also important for Generation Z employees who have access to able to work remotely. Research limitations/implications – It's important to offer motivators that are valued by Generation Z in order to attract the best candidates. Organizations must not only create an inclusive and understanding work environment but also be able to communicate strong branding in order to attract the best talent of Generation Z. This is the first study of its kind to examine work motivation specifically in Generation Z through a mixed method approach with Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale (MWMS) measurements in the Asian context of Indonesia.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research. Data collection was carried out using the interview method. This study aims to find out facts about passion investment in classic car collectors in Semarang. In recent years, the investment trend in Indonesia has increased. One alternative investment that is in demand is investing in art. Items that have works of art such as antiques can be used as an investment. In 2023 the number of investors investing in classic cars has increased from the previous year. In addition, over the past decade investing in classic cars has financially done better than many other collectibles such as stamps or coins. In this study generate data regarding the facts of investing in classic cars. Potential investors need significant knowledge about classic cars because not all old cars can be considered classics. The car is rare or available everywhere. Classic cars are depreciable assets, so it is very important for investors to know how to maintain the value of classic cars. Investing in classic cars is a little risky because to generate a reasonable return, investors must buy the vehicle and repair or maintain it before reselling it. Most classic car investors view their investments as a hobby rather than a method of making material gains.

Abstract

Worklife balance is a phenomenon in the social dynamics of work life. Work balance is an important issue in increasing responsibility and balancing work, social and family activities. A company that is committed to creating a work balance that is most liked by employees and will get a good reputation. However, work and family conflict is a dual role for each individual, so work-life balance is important to ensure work effectiveness. Knowing the extent to which family scope can cause work conflicts, work can interfere with family life activities, family life can motivate employee performance and work activities can improve the quality of family life in PT employees. ASABRI (Persero) Semarang Branch. The type used in this research is qualitative through a case study approach to do so. The research method used to obtain data is interviews. Data analysis carried out qualitatively requires interactive activities starting from condensing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions that are carried out on an ongoing basis to meet all the required data. Work-life balance is related to physical and psychological meaning as stability between body and mind. A well-managed job is able to support work activities that can contribute to personal life. Employees who are given the opportunity to manage work life will actually help employees become more focused, productive, and efficient at work while being able to fulfill their personal needs, goals, and responsibilities. Personal life and work affairs are two different things and cannot be mixed up, but both are on the top priority scale that must be done.
