Abstract

Background: The ethical principle of justice in nursing is often interpreted differently by patients and nurses. This principle does not function in isolation but rather complements other ethical values, leading to challenges in various situations. A common issue is the public perception of discrimination against patients utilizing the National Health Insurance, which affects the nursing profession’s image. Purpose: To establish a clear definition of the principle of justice in relation to the public perception of the nursing profession. Method: A concept analysis approach based on Avant’s framework was employed, utilizing online databases (PubMed and Google Scholar) with the keywords ‘justice,’ ‘professional image,’ and ‘nurse.’ Literature published between 2003 and 2023 was reviewed. Results: The concept analysis identified a conceptual and operational definition of justice concerning the nursing profession’s image. The study outlined the attributes, antecedents, consequences, and empirical indicators associated with nurses’ professional image. Conclusion: The operational definition of the nursing profession’s image in society refers to the public’s perception of the overall impression of nurses' behavior, which is deliberately shaped.

Abstract

Background: Disaster preparedness training has now begun to be developed from elementary to higher education, namely students, with the aim of building a culture of safety and resilience in the younger generation. Universities through the tridharma of higher education have a strategic role in disaster management through learning, research and community service. This role can take place with the active participation of lecturers and students. Purpose: To examine the effect of disaster management training on student preparedness. Method: Literature review research with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach and using PICO. The search databases used were Pubmed/NCBI, Scopus, and Sciencedirect with the keywords "( Student undergraduate) AND (Disaster)) AND (Disaster management training) AND (Disaster Preparedness)". Results: The types of disaster management training consisted of disaster management training, disaster response, first aid education, disaster preparedness, and stages of disaster preparedness and response. The training method used was the same, namely simulation guided by an instructor and the duration of the training varied and tended to be long. The fastest training duration was 30 minutes and the longest was 6 semesters. Conclusion: Disaster management training for students has been proven to be able to improve disaster preparedness, especially in the campus environment.   Keywords: Disaster Management; Higher Education; Students; Training.   Pendahuluan: Pelatihan kesiapsiagaan bencana saat ini sudah mulai dikembangkan mulai dari tingkat pendidikan dasar hingga ke tingkat pendidikan tinggi yaitu mahasiswa dengan tujuan untuk membangun budaya keselamatan dan ketangguhan pada generasi muda. Perguruan tinggi melalui tri dharma perguruan tinggi memiliki peran strategis dalam penanggulangan bencana melalui pembelajaran, penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Peran tersebut dapat berlangsung dengan adanya partisipasi aktif dari dosen dan mahasiswa. Tujuan: Untuk meninjau pengaruh pelatihan manajemen bencana terhadap kesiapsiagaan mahasiswa. Metode: Penelitian literatur review dengan pendekatan Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) dan menggunakan PICO. Database pencarian yang digunakan adalah pubmed/NCBI, Scopus, dan Sciencedirect dengan kata kunci "(Student undergraduate) AND (Disaster)) AND (Disaster management training) AND (Disaster Preparedness)". Hasil: Jenis pelatihan penanggulangan bencana terdiri dari pelatihan penanggulangan bencana, tanggap bencana, pendidikan pertolongan pertama, kesiapsiagaan bencana, serta kesiapsiagaan bencana dan tahapan tanggap bencana. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan sama, yaitu simulasi yang dipandu oleh instruktur dan durasi pelatihan bervariasi dan cenderung lama. Durasi pelatihan tercepat adalah 30 menit dan terlama adalah 6 semester. Simpulan: Pelatihan penanggulangan bencana bagi mahasiswa terbukti mampu meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan bencana, khususnya di lingkungan kampus.   Kata Kunci: Mahasiswa; Manajemen Bencana; Pelatihan; Perguruan Tinggi.

Abstract

Background: Although the development of technology in health care in Indonesia has progressed, the application of technology in the ICU is still relatively limited. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health (2024), several large hospitals in Jakarta and other big cities have implemented electronic-based patient data management systems and remote monitoring. However, it cannot be denied that there are still many hospitals in the regions that have not utilized technology optimally. Purpose: To analyze the use of technological innovation in intensive care unit care. Method:This research is a literature study with the PRISMA approach. Systematic review using PICO. The search databases used were PubMed/NCBI, Scopus and Sciencedirect with the keywords Innovation AND Technology AND Intensive Care Unit. Results: The types of technological innovations used in intensive care unit care are educational multimedia tools designed to improve ICU nurses' compliance with infection prevention and control practices, an intensive care telemedicine (tele-ICU) program called ERIC (Enhanced Recovery after Intensive Care), Ultrasonic technique Combination of Out-of-Plane Orientation and In-Plane Guidance for radial artery cannulation especially in shock patients in ICU, Virtual Reality (VR) to support the development of clinical decision-making skills, Remotely Tele-mentored Ultrasound (RTMUS) telemedicine to perform ultrasonography remotely. And each type of innovation technology used is significantly influential or effective according to the dependent variable measured. Conclusion: The use of technological innovation in intensive care unit care has been proven to provide benefits in all aspects, starting from infection prevention, quality indicators, and decision making.   Keywords: Innovation; Intensif Care Unit (ICU); Technology.   Pendahuluan: Perkembangan teknologi dalam perawatan kesehatan di Indonesia telah mengalami kemajuan, namun penerapan teknologi di ICU masih tergolong terbatas. Menurut Kemenkes RI (2024), beberapa rumah sakit besar di Jakarta dan kota-kota besar lainnya telah menerapkan sistem manajemen data pasien berbasis elektronik dan pemantauan jarak jauh. Namun tak dapat dipungkiri masih banyak rumah sakit di daerah yang belum memanfaatkan teknologi dengan optimal. Tujuan: Untuk menganalisis penggunaan  inovasi teknologi dalam perawatan di ruang intensif care unit. Metode: Penelitian literatur review dengan  pendekatan Preferred  Reporting  Items  for  Systematic  Reviews  and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) dan menggunakan PICO. Database pencarian yang digunakan adalah pubmed/NCBI, Scopus,dan  Sciencedirect dengan  kata  kunci  "(Innovation) AND (Technology) AND (Intensif Care Unit)” Hasil: Jenis inovasi teknologi yang digunakan dalam perawatan di ruang intensif care unit yakni alat multimedia edukatif yang dirancang untuk meningkatkan kepatuhan perawat ICU terhadap praktik pencegahan dan pengendalian infeksi, program telemedis perawatan intensif (tele-ICU) bernama ERIC (Enhanced Recovery after Intensive Care), teknik Ultrasonik Kombinasi Out-of-Plane Orientation dan In-Plane Guidance untuk kanulasi arteri radial khususnya pada pasien syok di ICU, Virtual Reality (VR) untuk mendukung pengembangan kemampuan pengambilan keputusan klinis, Remotely Tele-mentored Ultrasound (RTMUS) telemedicine untuk melakukan ultrasonografi dari jarak jauh. Serta setiap jenis teknologi inovasi yang digunakan memberikan pengaruh atau efektif secara signifikan sesuai dengan variabel dependen yang diukur. Simpulan: Penggunaan inovasi teknologi dalam perawatan di ruang Intemsif care unit terbukti dapat memberikan manfaat pada segala aspek mula dari pencegahan infeksi, indicator mutu, dan pengambilan keputusan.   Kata Kunci: Intensif Care Unit (ICU); Inovasi ;Teknologi.
