Abstract

Dichotomy is the division of two parts, splitting the two parts, or forked section. Some people difine dichotomy as the divisions of two parts which againt each other. Dichotomy of education means separation between religion subjects and science subjects, both formal and informal. Bipolar-dichotomous mindset has brought uncomfortable consequences for the life and welfare of mankind. Because it will make man alienated from the values of spirituality and morality, alienated from himself, his family and the surrounding community. This paper aims to find the traces of policy of dichotomy in Indonesian education, especially in a period of reform, and to find the root of policy dichotomy in Indonesian education. In addition, this paper also aims to explains the Islam views of the problems of dichotomy in education

Abstract

Artikel ini menjelaskan pandangan Harun Nasution atas sejarah dan pergolakan pemikiran dalam teologi Islam. Dalam buku “Teologi Islam” Harun Nasution melihat teologi Islam yang diajarkan di Indonesia pada umumnya adalah teologi dalam format ilmu tauhid yang kurang mendalam dan kurang filosofis. Selain itu, teologi Islam yang diajarkan adalah teologi Asy’ariyyah, sehingga timbul kesan di kalangan sementara umat Islam Indonesia bahwa inilah satu-satunya teologi yang ada dalam agama Islam. Dalam buku tersebut Harun Nasution membagi dua bagian. Pertama, Harun Nasution berusaha menjelaskan sejarah timbulnya persoalan-persoalan dalam teologi Islam. Kedua, ia mencoba memberikan analisa dan perbandingan di antara aliran-aliran yang ada dalam Ilmu Kalam. Terakhir, ia mecoba membandingkan fungsi akal dan wahyu antara mazhab Muktazilah dan Asy’ariyyah.

Abstract

This article wants to explain the history of the appearing and the growing of “pesantren” school, and to explain the secrets behind the solidity of pesantren to face of modern school. “Pesantren” is the first educational institution in Indonesia which it adopted the Hindu-Buddhist education system from India, and adopted the “mosque” education system from Islam. There are at least five basic elements in the pesantren education system which are mosques, kyai, santri, dormitories, and yellow books. The “pesantren” education system was able to survive in the midst of the modern education system, because in reality pesantren are always active in making changes to adapt the conditions of their times. This can be seen by the emergence of at least two types of “pesantren”, namely “salaf” (traditional pesantren) and “khalaf” (modern pesantren). The education system in the “salaf pesantren” is still very strong in maintaining its traditions such as yellow book, "sorogan" and "wetonan", while the education system in “pesantran khalaf” has been very accommodating with something new and modern things.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran taḥfīẓ pada santri ‘kalong’ di pondok pesantren Roudlotul Qur’an Semarang. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode field research. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode tahfiz Al-Qur’an yang diterapkan kepada santri kalong adalah: pertama, metode Wahdah. Sebuah metode pengulangan ganda, menghafal urutan-urutan ayat, menggunakan satu jenis mushaf, memahami arti dari lafadz kunci yang dihafal serta memperhatikan ayat-ayat serupa). Kedua, metode Sima’i. Sebuah metode menyetorkan hafalan kepada seorang guru. Adapun faktor penunjang dalam mengimplementasikan metode tahfiz di pesantren ini adalah kebebasan proses pembelajaran, mujahadah, motivasi, doa, dukungan guru dan orang tua, berfikir positif, lingkungan yang mendukung, melaksanakan salat malam, lebih menghargai waktu. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya adalah rasa malas, kurang optimal dalam menghafal, masalah pribadi, kesehatan kurang baik, kapasitas ingatan kurang baik, kurangnya waktu luang, serta sugesti buruk tentang menghafal. Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk menafsirkan kembali pandangan Islam tentang masalah poligami. Poligami adalah istilah yang dipakai untuk menunjukkan seorang suami yang menikah dengan lebih dari satu istri, baik menikah dengan dua istri, tiga istri, sepuluh istri dan seterusnya hingga tak terbatas. Islam mengatur hubungan laki-laki dan perempuan bisa mendapat dan menuntut hak-haknya. Islam selalu mengajar kita untuk memperlakukan perempuan dengan lembut dan kasih sayang.

Abstract

This research reveals how to improve reading of ‘the yellow book’ through the sorogan method for village students at Islamic Boarding School Wali Songo Pleret, Bantul and what are the factors and obstacles in the application of the sorogan method to improve reading of ‘the yellow book’ of village students in the pesantren. This research is a qualitative descriptive research, while the data collection techniques used interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed that the ustaz's efforts in improving the ability to read ‘the yellow book’ for village students by applying the sorogan method were considered very effective. This is based on the main purpose of the sorogan method, namely improving reading quality, understanding content, and being able to reveal the content of reading. Not only that, the increase can also be seen from the many supporting factors and the lack of inhibiting factors.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze in improving students' thinking in morals and Sufism courses by using problem-based learning approach and discussion method. This research was a mini research study using qualitative research methods and a case study approach. Data collection methods with observation interviews and documentation. There were two sources of data obtained, namely primary data obtained from observations and interviews, while secondary data was obtained by analyzing assignments made by students.The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model. The results of this study were in the lecture of morals and Sufism by using a problem-based learning approach and discussion method succeeded in improving students' critical thinking. It was evident from the way of presenting material and student discussion from group one to group four continues to increase.
