Abstract

Tenses mastery is an ability that must be possessed by students to improve their English skills both oral and written. The aim of this study is to find out the implementation of tenses learning based on MATENG (Mathematic-English) formula in the English Education Study Program at Muria Kudus University. The method used is descriptive method. The results showed that: 1) the implementation of the learning model tenses using the MATENG formula (Mathematic English) includes 3 aspects; mastery of the names of 16 tenses, functions and formulas; 2) the learning process of tenses starts from appraisal, then main activity used the PPP method, and individual tasks for students; 3) the students’ response to the implementation of the learning model tenses using the MATENG formula is stated to be very good.

Abstract

Abstract

Thousand Branches Beach is a beach that has its own charm, namely in the processing of existing twigs to be made into various works by the Classical Group. This beach is located in Panggung Village, Kedung District, Jepara Regency. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, Thousand Branches Beach has received a fairly large impact such as its declining attractiveness, this can be seen in the various works of tree branches that were damaged because they were not maintained. Many damaged photo spots, scattered garbage and grass that grows wild around the beach make the coastal land increasingly worn and arid. The purpose of this service is to help improve the feasibility of the Thousand Branch Beach as a tourist attraction in Jepara. Community service activities were carried out on March 18-2 2022 which took place in Panggung Village, Kedung District, Jepara Regency. The activities carried out are cleaning the beach, making photo spots and reforestation on the Thousand Branches Beach by involving the active role of the community around the beach, especially the Classical Group. The beach looks cleaner and more well-maintained after all activities are carried out properly, so the strategy in developing this beach makes the Thousand Branches Beach look more feasible than before.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of web-based student administration management at MAN 1 Jepara. The background of SIAP SIJOLI was the high number of late students and unexcused absences. SIAP SIJOLI, a website that has been in use for four years with hosting, provides features for nine user accounts, including admin, counseling team, order team, boarding administrator, achievement team, Madrasah head, deputy Madrasah head, and homeroom teacher. The focus of this research is the features in the homeroom teacher and order team accounts. Through qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews with teachers, administrative staff, and the IT team, as well as direct observation, this study analyzed the use of SIAP SIJOLI. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, narrative presentation, and data triangulation. The results showed that the implementation of SIAP SIJOLI significantly improved administrative efficiency and effectiveness. The order team's recording time was reduced from 3.5 hours to automatic, and the average tardy student decreased from 50-60 students to 5-10 students per day, indicating an increase in efficiency and effectiveness of around 85-90%. SIJOLI READY brought positive changes at MAN 1 Jepara.

Abstract

This study is aimed gathering the students’ reflection on their reading class for the baseline of the development of reflective reading materials. The student-centered classroom implies in the process of developing reading materials that support the students critical thinking and reflective skills. This study was mostly conducted qualitatively though quantitative data were also gathered to strengthen the findings. The study involved a total of 52 students from English Education Department in a reputable university. The focus of the instruments used to include questionnaire and interviews used is to access details of reading materials, reading process, and students’ reflection. The research participants were selected purposively. The results of the study present that the needs of developing reading materials that support the students’ critical and reflective skills are highly required and the considerations of aspects of the students’ reading materials, process of reading class, and reflection on students’ reading will facilitate the development of effective and engaging learning materials.

Abstract

Somosari Village Women Farmers Group (KWT) faces challenges in improving market access and competitiveness of their products such as coffee and dried oranges. Limitations in digital marketing and unattractive packaging design cause these products to be less recognized in the wider market. This service activity aims to implement digital transformation strategies and packaging design development so that KWT Somosari products can be more accessible and have higher appeal. The methods used include redesigning product design and packaging, digital marketing training, training in the application of e-commerce technology and assistance in the halal certification process. The results of this activity showed an increase in KWT members' knowledge of digital marketing, as well as improved packaging design that successfully increased product attractiveness. Increased sales were also seen from wider access to online markets. In conclusion, digital transformation and packaging design innovation proved effective in strengthening the market access and competitiveness of KWT Somosari products.
