Abstract

Islamic education, which should be able to answer the challenges of the times because it has multidimensional (profane and intrinsic), in reality, is not able to display its self-image firmly. At the same time, Islamic education is needed to ensure the survival and existence of Islamic society. The purpose of this study is to reveal one side of Fazlurrahman's thoughts on Islamic education because Fazlurrahman, one of the Islamic reformers, tries to find solutions so that Islamic education is more advanced and can answer the challenges of the times. This type of research is library research, and the data source is primary and secondary data. The analytical methods used are inductive, deductive and comparative. The research approach used is qualitative. The results of this study indicate that the background of his intellectual experience influences Fazlurrahman's thoughts. He believes that many things must be reconstructed and reformed in the world of Islamic education, including the goals and the education system. The purpose of Islamic education, which has been defensive-oriented to the hereafter, must be changed to be oriented to the world and the future. In addition, Muslims must take knowledge from the modern West. Fazlurrahman's thoughts are still very relevant today.

Abstract

This article aims to express the enthusiasm of the community (parents) to entrust their children to study at the Integrated Islamic School. Since the outbreak of the Integrated Islamic School, it has emerged amid the community that not only the existence of the school is in the province but has penetrated districts and cities in Indonesia. The author's observation is that the Integrated Islamic School is the main attraction for parents to entrust their children. Even in the last five years, this school has continued to increase the number of students who register. On this basis, the author is very interested in examining what factors attract parents to send their children to this school more deeply. This research is qualitative research that seeks to capture and translate the phenomena and facts related to the Integrated Islamic Elementary School (SDIT) Permata Hati Merangin Jambi with a descriptive-analytical method, which describes what findings were obtained based on interviews, observations and documentation, then analyzed using inductive and deductive theories so that the object of the research is well represented. The results found are the enthusiastic factors of the community (parents) entrusting their children to the Integrated Islamic School, namely (1) the integration of the Religious Education curriculum with general education; it is implemented and not just a mere slogan; (2) Integrated Islamic School Implementing a full day school learning system, because this model system has many benefits, especially respect for time, and (3) Parents are personally involved actively in guiding children to learn.

Abstract

Filantropi Islam adalah suatu istilah yang dilabelkan bagi dermawan menyisihkan hartanya baik berbentuk sadaqah, infak, wakaf, dan zakat untuk membantu manusia yang kurang mampu atau membutuhkan dan senada dengan istilah ini adalah fundraising. Fundraising merupakan kegiatan penggumpulan dana dari donatur-donatur untuk tujuan tertentu. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberi gambaran tentang konsep pengelolaan yang digunakan locomotive social trust fund (LSOFT) dalam mengelola dana yang terhimpun dari dermawan-dermawan untuk digunakan membantu biaya pendidikan bagi mahasiswa tahfiz. LSOFT adalah suatu lembaga baru yang didirikan oleh Rektor UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi yang salah satu tujuan menghimpun dana dari berbagai donator baik dari kalangan UIN sendiri maupun dari tokoh di luar kampus UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, para dermawan ini yang disebut dengan Istilah orang tua asuh. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif analitis. Untuk memperoleh data saya langsung mengobservasi kegiatan kantor LSOFT dan menginterview ketua dan pengurus-pengurus serta mengambil dokumen-dokumen yang berhubungan dengan strategi LSOFT mengelola dana dari para donator atau dermawan. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh hasilnya bahwa LSOFT UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi adalah suatu lembaga sah dan resmi sebagai lembaga yang berperan untuk menghimpun dana baik berupa sadaqah, zakat, infaq, dan wakaf dari para dermawan atau filantrofis. LSOFT UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi pada saat sekarang telah menghimpun dana dari beberapa donatur baik dari internal UIN STS Jambi sendiri maupun ekternal dengan cara melakukan beberapa kegiatan dan sosialisasi. Untuk model pengrekrutan para donatur, LSOFT UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi menggunakan model dengan sebutan orang tua asuh. Dana yang telah terkumpul dari orang tua asuh tersebut, LSOFT UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi kemudian mendistribusikan kepada mahasiwa dalam bentuk beasiswa tahfiz qur’an.
From Baghdad to Jambi: The Story of Syekh Maulana Qori and the Sacred Tomb in East Muaro Panco Village, Muaro Panco Rasyadi, Imron; Malik, Abdul; Ibrahim, Ibrahim

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to identify and examine historical facts pertaining to the sacred grave site in East Muaro Panco Village, Renah Pembarap District, Merangin Jambi. The local community believes that the tomb belongs to the great and sacred scholar Syekh Maulana Qori, who is said to have travelled from Baghdad to spread Islam in Jambi. However, this narrative is largely based on oral tradition and lacks corroboration from historical sources. The researchers employed a qualitative research approach with a case history methodology in order to address the aforementioned concern. Data was gathered through interviews with informants, including community leaders, religious leaders, and Kyai, both within and outside the area, who were deemed to possess knowledge of the tomb’s history. Subsequently, researchers conducted direct observations at the tomb and utilized documentation pertaining to the history of Syekh Maulana Qori. The results of the researchers’ search yielded a history of the tomb in Muaro Panco, which revealed that it was the final resting place of Syekh Maulana Qori, a prominent scholar from Baghdad (Iraq) who was related to Syekh Al-fairus Al-Baghdadi. Syekh Maulana Qori is regarded as one of the most influential Islamic scholars in Muaro Panco’s history. His grave remains a pilgrimage site, both locally and from beyond the region, including from outside Indonesia.
