Abstract

This paper describes the origin of the Sasak-Lombok tribe's tradition of pulling which is based on oral folklore. The roots of this tradition can be traced back to the history of the 17th century Lombok-Bali meeting. In general, there are four views about the roots of the formation of the Sasak tribe tradition of drawing. The four views are First, pulling is a traditional Sasak norm; The second merarik is a resistance to the shackles of the triwangsa social strata; The third merarik is the release of Sasak women from the kidnapping of Balinese Buleleng soldiers; The fourth line is the acculturation of Balinese culture.

Abstract

The critical thinking ability of elementary school students is still relatively low, especially in Pancasila Education subjects which tend to be theoretical and do not actively involve students. The researcher conducted this study with the aim of finding out how the Special Box learning media can be applied to improve the critical thinking ability of grade VI students at SDN Daramista II. This study used a mixed method with a sequential exploratory approach, which combines qualitative data through observation, interview, and documentation techniques, as well as quantitative data obtained from questionnaires and critical thinking ability tests. Based on the results of the study, the use of the Special Box media designed with the Contextual Teaching and Learning and Discovery Learning approaches has been proven to be able to significantly increase student participation and encourage their cognitive involvement. Students showed enthusiasm, courage in answering challenges, and the ability to link Pancasila values to real life. Quantitative findings support these results with the majority of students giving a "Strongly Agree" response to the effectiveness of the media in fostering critical thinking. The implications of this study indicate that Special Box can be an effective and innovative learning strategy to improve the quality of Pancasila learning, support character development, foster critical thinking and be relevant to the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum which emphasizes 21st century skills.
