http://dx.doi.org/10.17014/ijog.vol1no3.20061Geologically the Batuceper and Benda Sub-Regencies belongs to the western part of the Jakarta Basin. The area is covered by coastal alluvial and delta deposits, and volcanic product. Understanding the distribution and groundwater pattern, either in the shallow part or the deep part, are of the basic thing for a geometric model and its groundwater fl ow in identifying the groundwater conservation. The result of the aquifer distribution, either in the shallow or the depth parts, was approached by the geoelectrical and hydrogeological surveys in the fi eld and well data that has resulted in aquifer distribution, either in the shallow or the deep parts. In general, the shallow aquifer developed downward becomes semi confi ned and confi ned aquifers. Groundwater fl ow pattern indicated local cones depression of groundwater level, especially around the city. Depression of groundwater level is considered to be related to the natural shape of aquifer as lences. However, it was possible to be caused by over pumping in this zone.

Abstract

Pulau Merah berada di Desa Sumberagung, Kecamatan Pesanggaran, Kabupaten Banyuwangi, pada jarak sekitar 200 meter dari garis pantai Desa Sumberagung, memiliki indikasi mineralisasi logam. Penelitian di Pulau Merah bertujuan untuk mendapatkan tipe mineralisasi dan alterasi, serta sebaran tubuh bijih. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan terdiri dari pengamatan litologi, alterasi, mineralisasi, dan pengambilan conto batuan untuk analisis kandungan mineral dan kimia. Morfologi Pulau Merah berbentuk bukit kecil. Pada tebing bagian timur menghadap laut dangkal yang dapat diseberangi saat laut surut, terdapat singkapan luas batuan teralterasi dan mineralisasi. Pada bagian tenggara sampai bagian tengah terdapat singkapan cebakan tembaga porfiri, di bagian utara terdapat singkapan cebakan emas epitermal tipe high sulphidation. Cebakan tembaga porfiri mempunyai kadar 0,32% s.d. 2,14% Cu, 285 ppb s.d. 1.502 ppb Au, 1,4 ppm s.d. 9,4 ppm Ag dan 2 ppm s.d. 4 ppm Mo. Cebakan emas epitermal high sulphidation mempunyai kadar 189 ppb s.d. 1.843 ppb Au, 1 ppm s.d. 21,4 ppm Ag dan 24 ppm s.d. 123 ppm As. Pulau Merah sesuai dengan Undang-undang Nomor 1 tahun 2014 Tentang Pengelolaan Wilayah Pesisir dan Pulau-pulau Kecil, termasuk ke dalam kriteria Pulau Kecil, oleh karena itu tidak dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kegiatan tambang. Obyek langka Pulau Merah berupa cebakan tembaga dan cebakan emas yang mudah dijangkau dan merupakan bagian dari tujuan wisata maka layak untuk dapat  dijadikan cagar alam geologi.

Abstract

The uncontrolled sand, stone, limestone, and marble mining activities have caused damage to Karang Panganten in the Rajamandala karst area, West Bandung Regency, which is a geologically protected area in the form of a nature reserve. The resulting damage has had adverse effects on the community, such as the loss of clean water sources, environmental degradation, decreased air quality, and disruptions to the livelihoods of people dependent on natural resources in the area. Therefore, a Community Service Activity (PKM) was conducted by the Bandung Energy and Mining Polytechnic (PEP) from June to December 2022 with approximately 50 to 75 participants. The method used involved providing materials on organic fertilizer production using stacked buckets, greening the mining area by distributing and planting 140 multifunctional plant seedlings, namely moringa, bamboo, and balsa, renovating some slippery and steep footpaths, and installing plaques as a sign that the activity had been carried out. The results of this PKM activity include conveying an understanding of the importance of greening to achieve a balance between mining activities and environmental sustainability management, as well as increasing the community's knowledge of organic fertilizer production for optimal plant growth. This PKM activity indirectly contributes to the Citarum River Basin (DAS) conservation program, specifically the "Citarum Harum" program. Subsequent PKM activities can replicate this initiative in other villages in the Cipatat Subdistrict or other karst areas in West Bandung, as these areas are in great need of rehabilitation. The entire process can be modularized as a guide for future educational activities.

Abstract

Wakatobi holds considerable potential in the sustainable blue economy, particularly in the fisheries sector. However, only 6.4% of its annual capture fisheries potential has been utilized, despite recent export milestones. This study employed a qualitative methodology using a systems thinking approach to explore the key determinants influencing fish exports in Wakatobi. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and secondary sources, and were analyzed using causal loop diagrams (CLD) to map systemic interactions and identify leverage points. The findings revealed that outdated port infrastructure, insufficient cold storage, limited transportation access, and inadequate post-harvest handling were the main barriers to export readiness. Additionally, gaps in policy coordination and fisher training contributed to poor fish quality and limited market access. The study concluded that addressing these interconnected issues through integrated policies, investment in cold chain infrastructure, and capacity-building initiatives is critical for improving the competitiveness of Wakatobi’s fishery exports. This research offers a systemic perspective for designing sustainable interventions that align economic growth with ecological preservation.
