Abstract

This study is based on the results of observations made at SDN Lirboyo 1 Kediri City, teachers in delivering material, especially the Solar System, only use the lecture method and student books. Many students have difficulty in explaining and mentioning the constituent members of the Solar System. student difficulties are seen when students are asked questions only silent, and the value at the end of learning is far from the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). The formulation of the problem developed is how the process, practical validity and effectiveness of pop up book media on solar system material for grade VI elementary school students in its use as media during learning. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) research method with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects of this study were teachers and students of grade VI SDN Lirboyo 1 Kediri City. There are two instruments used in this study, namely using questionnaires and tests. Questionnaires are used to determine the validity and practicality of pop up book media, while tests are used to determine the effectiveness of pop up book media. The results of the pop up book media development research are as follows: (1) The results of the pop-up book media validity trial were carried out by media experts and material experts and received a percentage of 90% very valid or can be used without revision. (2) The results of the pop-up book media practicality trial in the limited trial were carried out by teachers by 92% and from students by 95%, then the results of the pop-up book media practicality in the broad trial were carried out by students by 93.5%. The percentage of scores from teachers and student responses is in the range of 81.00% - 100.00% which can be categorised as very interesting/valid. (3) The results of the effectiveness of pop-up book media obtained from the results of pretest and post test scores and getting a percentage of 81.65% are in the vulnerable range of 81.00% - 100.00% declared very effective can be used without improvement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi hasil pengamatan di SDN 1 Mlandangan, saat peneliti sedang observasi di SD tersebut. Pada saat itu guru hanya menggunakan metode ceramah saja dan suasana kelas menjadi kurang kondusif, ada beberapa siswa yang tidak memperhatikan guru saat menjelaskan materi, siswa ramai sendiri, pada saat siswa diberi soal atau pertanyaan kepada guru ada beberapa siswa yang tidak bisa menjawab soal dari guru tersebut. Akibatnya siswa tidak memahami materi yang telah disampaikan sehingga motivasi dan hasil belajaranya rendah. Penelitian menggunakan metode RND ( Research and Development) meliputi Anilisis, Desain, Pengembangan, Implementasi, Evaluasi. Kemudian peneliti membuat pengembangan media yaitu pengembangan media rumah makan cerdik, pada tema 4 kewajiban dan hakku. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) Melalui penerapan pengembangan media pada Sekolah dasar dapat menumbuhkan motivasi dan semngat belajar siswa pada kelas 3 SDN 1 Mlandangan. 2) Hasil kevalidan menunjukan validasi materi 86% sedangkan ahli media menunjukkan 88% 3) Hasil Kepraktisan menunjukkan presentase 94 % yang diisi oleh guru kelas III 4) Dari hasil posttest yang menunjukkan keefektifan menunjukkan ketuntasan secara klasikal yaitu sebesar 90 % dari 11 siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the PAKARSA (Papan dan Kartu Rahasia / Board and Secret Cards) learning media in teaching science on the topic of the water cycle, and to examine its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. The research was conducted with fifth-grade students at SDN Plosorejo 1, Kediri Regency, during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The PAKARSA media is made of wooden boards and buffalo paper cards. The right side of the board displays a visual sequence of the water cycle stages evaporation, transpiration, condensation, and precipitation to support students’ conceptual understanding. The left side contains material and quiz cards used for evaluation and concept reinforcement. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest Posttest Design, where one group of students received tests before and after the learning activity. The instruments used were multiple choice and short-answer tests developed based on the national learning outcomes (Capaian Pembelajaran). The results showed an increase in the average score from 56.7 (pre-test) to 88.4 (post-test). The number of students achieving the minimum mastery criteria (score ≥75) increased from 4 to 19 out of 21 students. The classical learning mastery (KBK) reached 90.5%, indicating that the PAKARSA media was highly effective. Therefore, PAKARSA is proven to be an effective and engaging tool for science instruction, particularly in enhancing student understanding of the water cycle.

Abstract

In fourth-grade science instruction at Tarokan 3 Elementary School, teachers do not use instructional media and still rely on teacher and student textbooks as teaching aids. This makes students less active in learning about energy transformations. Based on observations and interviews, only 15 of 40 students achieved the minimum grade point average (KKTP) (75). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the "Big Book" instructional media in increasing students' interest in reading. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects were 40 fourth-grade students, with data collected through observation, interviews, and tests. The instructional media were tested on both a limited and a broad scale. The results of the limited trial showed a completion rate of 100%, and the broad trial showed a completion rate of 100%. These results indicate that the "Big Book" learning media is very effective in improving student learning outcomes, exceeding the KKTP score, and can be used without the need for improvement.
