Abstract

Persoalan mendasar budidaya tembakau adalah semakin menurunnya produktivitas lahan, disebabkan oleh sistem pertanian monokultur dan intensif penggunaan pupuk anorganik yang berakibat penurunan kesuburan tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk organik cair limbah pertanian yaitu daun lamtoro, daun tithonia, kulit umbi singkong dan buah pepaya terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tembakau serta membandingkan dengan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan di lokasi yang sama. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen, Rancangan Acak Lengkap 4 perlakuan, yaitu pemberian POC daun Tithonia, daun lamtoro, kulit umbi singkong dan buah pepaya dengan 10 ulangan. Data diolah menggunakan SPSS versi 26 dan uji lanjut DNMRT taraf 5%. Dari penelitian didapatkan bahwa pengaplikasian POC daun lamtoro menghasilkan tembakau dengan tinggi, jumlah daun, panjang daun dan lebar daun lebih besar dibanding POC lain. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah limbah pertanian yang difermentasi menjadi pupuk organik cair dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk karena dapat menghasilkan tembakau dengan tinggi, jumlah daun, panjang daun, lebar daun dan diameter batang yang tidak berbeda dengan tembakau yang diaplikasikan pupuk anorganik (pupuk buatan).

Abstract

Synthetic insecticides are still used as the main solution in suppressing herbivorous insect attacks on maize at the farm level. The purpose of this research is to determine and find new ways farmers use insecticides wisely through a multi-aspect approach. The method used to determine the sample was purposive sampling with 50 corn farmers spread across five villages in the Tambulava sub-district. Primary data collection was obtained by observation through direct interviews with corn farmers using a prepared semi-structured questionnaire, and secondary data were obtained through a literature study and various sources related to research issues. Quantitative data were analyzed by simple tabulation (cross-tabulation analysis), while qualitative data were analyzed using an interpretation of existing phenomena. The results showed that four herbivorous insect species attacked corn plants in the Tanambulava District: Spodoptera frugiperda, Helicoverva armigera, Ostrinia furnacalis, and Locusta sp. Insecticide application time by local farmers is generally done in the morning by 90%, with application frequency varying 1-3 times a week. There are 13 active insecticide ingredients used by corn farmers in Tambulava District, Sigi Regency.

Abstract

This research aims to see the effect of the number of leaves left on the rootstock and the best defoliation time to improve the performance of cacao shoot connection seedlings. The research was conducted in the experimental garden of Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Payakumbuh from March to July 2023. Cocoa clone ICS was used as rootstock and clone TSH as scion. The experimental design was 4x4 factorial with 3 replications, the environmental design was completely randomized design. Data were analyzed statistically using F test and DNMRT further test at 5% level. From the research and data processing, it was found that there is an interaction between the treatment of different number of rootstock leaves and different defoliation times on the performance of cocoa shoot grafting seedlings based on the variables of percentage of grafted seedlings, number of shoots, number of leaves, leaf area and weight of seedling scion. It can be concluded that defoliation of the rootstock six days before splicing with rootstock having four leaves produces the best performance of cacao shoot grafting seedlings

Abstract

Abstract : This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of robusta coffee farmers in applying the mercy pruning technique. The activity was carried out on September 25, 2025, in Jorong Talaweh Kenagarian Labuah Gunuang, Lareh Sago Halaban District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, involving 30 members of the Mutiara Farmers Group. The implementation method included socialization, field demonstrations, and direct practical assistance from farmers. The results of the activity showed an increase in farmers' understanding of pruning principles and skills in applying them to robusta coffee plants. It is hoped that this activity can support increased robusta coffee productivity and the sustainability of farming businesses in the region.Keywords: Robusta coffee, mercy pruning, farmer groups Abstrak: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani kopi robusta dalam menerapkan teknik pemangkasan sistem mercy. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 25 September 2025 di Jorong Talaweh Kenagarian Labuah Gunuang, Kecamatan Lareh Sago Halaban, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, dengan melibatkan 30 orang anggota Kelompok Tani Mutiara. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi, demonstrasi lapangan, serta pendampingan praktik langsung oleh petani. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman petani terhadap prinsip-prinsip pemangkasan serta keterampilan dalam mempraktikkannya pada tanaman kopi robusta. Diharapkan kegiatan ini dapat mendukung peningkatan produktivitas kopi robusta dan keberlanjutan usaha tani di wilayah tersebut. Kata kunci: Kopi robusta, pemangkasan mercy, kelompok tani
