Abstract

Persoalan mendasar budidaya tembakau adalah semakin menurunnya produktivitas lahan, disebabkan oleh sistem pertanian monokultur dan intensif penggunaan pupuk anorganik yang berakibat penurunan kesuburan tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk organik cair limbah pertanian yaitu daun lamtoro, daun tithonia, kulit umbi singkong dan buah pepaya terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tembakau serta membandingkan dengan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan di lokasi yang sama. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen, Rancangan Acak Lengkap 4 perlakuan, yaitu pemberian POC daun Tithonia, daun lamtoro, kulit umbi singkong dan buah pepaya dengan 10 ulangan. Data diolah menggunakan SPSS versi 26 dan uji lanjut DNMRT taraf 5%. Dari penelitian didapatkan bahwa pengaplikasian POC daun lamtoro menghasilkan tembakau dengan tinggi, jumlah daun, panjang daun dan lebar daun lebih besar dibanding POC lain. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah limbah pertanian yang difermentasi menjadi pupuk organik cair dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk karena dapat menghasilkan tembakau dengan tinggi, jumlah daun, panjang daun, lebar daun dan diameter batang yang tidak berbeda dengan tembakau yang diaplikasikan pupuk anorganik (pupuk buatan).

Abstract

Sustainable agricultural technology is essential as a solution to the need for improving the quantity and quality of agricultural production. Reimplementing sustainable agricultural technology requires time, financial resources, energy, and efforts from all stakeholders. The adoption of sustainable agricultural technology is crucial to restoring and preserving the quality of agricultural commodities. The adoption process, which is expected to be carried out by farmers, must be accompanied by agricultural extension workers as representatives of the government. It is necessary to gather information on the extent to which the adoption process of this technology has been implemented. The Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method, as a qualitative social research approach, can serve as a tool for evaluating programs and gaining deeper insights into the collective behavioral patterns of farmers participating in these programs. The results of the FGD-based research revealed that the adoption rate among farmers has reached nearly 70%, with a success rate of 71%. The study also found that the success of farmers was significantly influenced by the contributions of related government agencies that provided sustainable agricultural technology, as well as by farmers’ own independent innovations. Moreover, the greatest success factor was the assistance provided by local agricultural extension workers

Abstract

Pengrajin gula aren merupakan mata pencaharian penduduk di Kecamatan Lareh Sago Halaban, mengolah nira menjadi gula aren. Sentra produksi gula aren terdapat di Nagari Labuah Gunuang. Namun, harga gula aren fluktuatif, berpengaruh terhadap pendapatan pengrajin gula aren. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui rata-rata pendapatan pengrajin gula aren, dan  apakah pendapatan sudah sesuai standar Upah Minimum Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada April-Juni 2024. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei terdiri dari data primer dan data sekunder. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan  purposive sampling, dengan menganalisis pendapatan pengrajin gula aren. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata pendapatan pengrajin gula aren tanpa menghitung bahan baku nira sebesar Rp. 2.386.563/ bulan,  rata-rata pendapatan pengrajin gula aren dengan menghitung bahan baku nira memperoleh kerugian sebesar Rp. 2.341.437/ bulan dan pendapatan pengrajin gula aren lebih kecil dari Upah Minimum Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Bagi pemerintah agar bisa membantu untuk pengembangan pemasaran gula aren untuk meningkatkan pendapatan pengrajin gula aren.

Abstract

Commodity development in rural areas is a major concern to support regional economic competitiveness. This regional development aims to build and increase interdependence and interaction between economic systems, humans or communities in the environment and natural resources. Each region has its own advantages in developing commodities which are considered capable of improving the regional economy which is supported by the competitiveness of the commodities in that region. Lareh Sago Halaban district has superior commodities such as rubber, coconut, palm sugar, areca nut and gambier which can be developed for the community to increase economic competitiveness.
