Abstract

This study aims to describe the structural error of the text and language of the observation report of the seventh grade students of SMP Kristen 1 Surakarta. This study is a qualitative descriptive study with a sample of observational reports from students of SMP Kristen 1 Surakarta. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling.Data collection techniques used were document analysis and in-depth interviews. The analysis technique used is flow analysis because the data analyzed is unchanging, which includes data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing. The conclusions of this study are as follows. The first mistakes found in student corals include text structure errors, paragraph errors, sentence errors, word choice errors, and spelling mistakes. The two errors that occur in the student observation report are due to several factors including: lack of writing practice, lack of interest in reading, lack of understanding of the rules of writing in Indonesian.

Abstract

Learning motivation is one of the factors that influence success in student learning.Motivation is the driving force in doing something for optimum success. This studyaims to see the effect of giving the Economic Token method (positivereinforcement) to increase the achievement motivation of elementary schoolstudents. This study used a single subject, namely the fifth grade elementary schoolchildren with the age of 11 years. The assessment methods used are observation,interviews and psychological tests. Giving economic tokens here by giving rewardsin the form of praise and gifts of goods that are highly desired by the subject.Rewards will be given when the subject can carry out the given task properly andaccording to the target. If it does not work, it is considered a failure and asked totry again. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively by looking at changes intheir learning motivation, based on their learning outcomes and changes inbehavior on the behavior check list.
