Abstract

Children is a tremendous boon and a mandate that has been entrusted by God to parents, to be educated and cared for as well as possible so that it becomes an individual with strong character in his religion, ethics, thought patterns and sosioemosionalnya. The childcare is how parents guiding and educating children daily (Hurlock, 1998). Parenting will shape the character of the child. Children is a good observer or observers, so what it does is a representation of the daily parental education. Have we thought that the negative program which (may) we inadvertently instilled into the subconscious mind of our children, will continue to dominate and control her life - making a mess in the future ?. To answer these problems then nurturing it is filled with charges are quite dense, in accordance with the ultimate goal of what you want to achieve a parent for his son's future. Parenting charged local culture and customs ethics eastern instill character values for children who have unggah ungguh, manners and ethics. Parenting can not escape from the influence of local culture, upbringing certainly be colored by the local customs and cultural values. Religion in this case Islam became the basic guidelines for parents to take children into a personal smart grateful and in accordance with the command of Allah. How can parents educate children to enter a value and must be in accordance with the thinking pattern of the child, so the child can receive the information properly. The child can receive and process the brain well, so that what has been learned and understood the child will settle into a foundation in his behavior in the future.

Abstract

Banyak ragam karakteristik dari peserta didik, salah satunya adalah anak lambat belajar atau biasa disebut slow learner. Lambat belajar atau slow learner adalah anak yang mempunyai skor IQ di bawah rata-rata normal dan mempunyai tingkat keberhasilan yang relatif rendah pada tugas-tugas sekolah dibandingkan dengan anak-anak lain dalam kelas yang sama. Penyebab dari kesulitan belajar yang dialami oleh anak-anak lambat belajar terdiri dari lima kategori utama. Kelima kategori itu adalah sebab genetik, prenatal, perinatal, postnatal dan lingkungan. Ciri-ciri anak lambat belajar antara lain : anak lambat belajar umumnya mengalami kegagalan dalam memahami pelajaran dan konsep-konsep dasar di bidang akademik, misalnya membaca, menulis, matematika (berhitung) dan bahasa, selain itu juga kesulitan dalam menentukan arah, waktu, dan ukuran seperti arah kanan dan kiri, depan dan belakang, lebar dan sempit. Mempunyai daya ingat yang rendah. Anak lambat belajar sulit bersosialisasi dengan lingkungan. Anak lambat belajar lebih sering pasif, minder dan menarik diri dari pergaulan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand how the process of achieving meaningful of life housewives living with HIV. The subjects in this study were two housewives PLHIV (People Living with HIV) who are already infected with HIV-AIDS for at least two years, with each one significant other. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive case study, as well as in-depth interviews. Based on interviews and analysis of data, known when the subject was not received when it should be declared as a housewife living with HIV. Both subjects had to live life with a negative self-image on themself, because getting stigma and discrimination from society. The awareness to have a better life emerged after a meeting with other people living with HIV housewives as well as individual experts such as doctors or psychologists. The meaning of life back discovered two subjects because they have a belief in God. Of significance has been determined, the subjects begin to live life happily. Until the end of the two subjects get the results of the hard work that has been traversed. The changes do not significantly meaningful life is a process. In fact, every individual will follow the stages that exist precisely, considering each individual is a unique individual with characteristics that are owned respectively. This is what happened to the two housewives PLHIV in this study, that the process through which the meaningful of life does not follow a particular order.

Abstract

The current study examined the relationship between career self-efficacy and family support with with career adaptability indepedenly among students of SMAN 1 Pandaan. The number of respondents was 206 students of twelve grade SMAN 1 Pandaan, recruited through nonprobability sampling. The measuring instrument were CAAS (Career Adapt Adaptability Scale), Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy Scale (Indonesia Version) and family support scale from House and Khan. Data were analyzed using multiple correlation techniques. The results of the study show that there is a relationship between career self-efficacy and career adaptability of class XII students of SMAN 1 Pandaan, the direction of the relationship is positive. Other results show that there is no relationship between family support and career adaptability for class XII students of SMAN 1 Pandaan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and peer social support with academic procrastination independently and simultaneously. The research respondents were 56 final year students, selected using a saturated sampling technique. The scales in this research are self-control, peer social support and academic procrastination scale. The results showed a significant relationship between the variables of self-control and peer social support with academic procrastination. Other results show that self-control and social support have a negative correlation with academic procrastination in final year students.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the existence of: (1). The relationship between career hardiness and career adaptability; (2). The relationship between social support and career adaptability; (3). The relationship between hardiness and social support with career adaptability in Psychology Faculty students, Hang Tuah University, Surabaya. The research uses a quantitative approach to survey research methods. The number of subjects is 194 students. The sampling technique in this study used quota sampling. Data analysis used product moment and multiple correlation. The career adaptability scale consists of 24 items (α=0.914). Hardiness scale consists of 18 items (α=0.831). The social support scale consists of 12 items (α=0.956). The major hypothesis obtained F value sig. Change of 0.003 is less than 0.05. The close relationship between hardiness and social support with career adaptability is 6%. These results indicate that the hypothesis is accepted, meaning that there is a positive relationship between hardiness and social support with career adaptability for students of the Psychology Faculty, Hang Tuah University, Surabaya. From these results, there are several implications including being able to contribute to development institutions related to career adaptability and can be a useful reference for the development of student knowledge.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-adjustment, peer social support and student well-being in Students of the Vocational Shipping Faculty, Hang Tuah University. The research method used is quantitative. The analysis used is Pearson Correlation and multiple correlation. The sampling technique in this study is saturated sampling technique. Data collection was carried out with 3 (three) scales. Student well-being scale (α=0.967), self-adjustment scale (α=0.835) and peer social support scale (α=0.936) with 180 student respondents. The results showed that the hypothesis was accepted, which means that there is a relationship between self- adjustment and peer social support with student well-being in students of the Vocational Shipping Faculty, Hang Tuah University (sig 0.000 is less than 0.05). There is a relationship between self-adjustment and student well-being (sig. 000 is less than 0.05) with an effective contribution of 43.4%. There is a relationship between peer social support and student well-being (sig .000 is less than 0.05) with an effective contribution of 42.3%.

Abstract

Kasus stunting di Indonesia perlu mendapat perhatian serius agar menciptakan generasi penerus yang sehat dan cerdas. Berbagai upaya dilakukan pemerintah untuk menanggulangi permasalahan ini termasuk di kota Surabaya. Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Hang Tuah, sebagai salah satu perguruan tinggi di Surabaya memiliki turut memiliki peran untuk membantu mengatasi persoalan ini. Upaya yang dilakukan salah satunya adalah melakukan kegiatan edukasi peningkatan pengetahuan ibu tentang optimalisasi perkembangan dan pencegahan stuting pada ibu dengan anak balita di kelurahan Tambak Wedi Surabaya. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Balai RW 2 yang dihadiri 26 ibu. Hasil pemberian edukasi menunjukkan sebagian besar ibu menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan tentang optimalisasi perkembangan anak. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat diterapkan dalam mengasuh dan membesarkan putra-putri mereka sehingga akan tercipta generasi muda yang sehat dan cerdas.

Abstract

Communication is one of the daily activities that are often carried out by humans. Every aspect of human life is influenced by communication. The smallest human unit to carry out a communication that starts from the family. Communication in the family which is the way family members interact with family members, where good communication can be created between parents and children. The purpose of this study was to determine the communication patterns of adolescents in the family, with their parents. This research is devoted to young coastal families who live on the coast of Kenjeran Beach, Surabaya. The subjects in this study were adolescents aged 13-18 years who lived in the area around the coast of Kenjeran, Surabaya, East Java, totaling 33 people. Collecting data using a Likert Scale questionnaire with 25 items. The results of the study showed that the dominant communication pattern was the monopoly pattern with a percentage of 54.55%.

Abstract

Learning motivation is one of the factors that influence success in student learning.Motivation is the driving force in doing something for optimum success. This studyaims to see the effect of giving the Economic Token method (positivereinforcement) to increase the achievement motivation of elementary schoolstudents. This study used a single subject, namely the fifth grade elementary schoolchildren with the age of 11 years. The assessment methods used are observation,interviews and psychological tests. Giving economic tokens here by giving rewardsin the form of praise and gifts of goods that are highly desired by the subject.Rewards will be given when the subject can carry out the given task properly andaccording to the target. If it does not work, it is considered a failure and asked totry again. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively by looking at changes intheir learning motivation, based on their learning outcomes and changes inbehavior on the behavior check list.
