Abstract

Abstract

There are up to 50-centimeter-high puddles on the road due to the Jetis Road Drainage Channel in Mojokerto Regency's incapacity to handle the flood discharge from the drainage catchment area. The Jetis Road drainage channel's size and channel bed slope will be affected by the meeting point of the 1000 m long secondary channel and the Jetis Road drainage outlet. The objective of this research is to evaluate the efficiency of drainage channel design considering the implications of the drainage existing condition due to inconsistent dimension and sedimentation. The drainage channel is designed to handle a total discharge of 4.6 m3/sec during 10 years return of period. Under these circumstances, a trapezoidal channel with a width of one meter and a depth of two meters is needed. The Jetis Road drainage channel's enlarged dimensions result in a flood water level of 1.8. The Jetis Road drainage channel has a freeboard of 0.2 meters since the flood water level that occurs in the channel with its new dimensions is 1.8 meters. The flow rate in the intended channel serves as the control in this study to determine channel size. The channel's maximum flow velocity of 1.44 m/sec satisfies the 1.5 m/sec maximum flow velocity allowed in concrete channels.

Abstract

Abstract

In the case of heavy rain, several places in Surabaya are still submerged. The Keputih Tegal region is one of them. The Jalan Keputih Tegal channel is a tertiary drainage channel that drains into a secondary drainage channel on Jalan Raya Keputih before emptying into the Wonokromo river. The flood on Jalan Keputih Tegal occurred at a depth of 20 cm. The drainage channel on Jalan Keputih Tegal is the subject of this study, and the data utilized are secondary data in the form of rainfall data collected from the Public Works Department of Highways Surabaya and the SDMP (Surabaya Drainage Master Plan) map obtained from BAPPEKO Surabaya. The dimensions of the channel are 1.5 x 1.5 m with a capacity of 0.9 m3/s based on the flood flow from the CA region and the drainage system of the Keputih Tegal channel, which is impacted by the height of the secondary channel MAB. The channel's proportions allow for both flood discharge and backwater discharge. With a flow velocity of 0.4 m/s, the channel slope is planned to be 0.04 percent. This condition exceeds the allowed speed criteria for concrete channels, which are 1.5 m/s.

Abstract

This aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of climate change on the hydrological, hydraulic, and slope stability conditions of the Tukul Dam in the Kali Telu watershed, Pacitan. The methodology includes hydrological analysis using the Log Pearson Type III distribution, flood discharge estimation with the HSS Nakayasu method, and hydraulic simulation using HEC-RAS to determine maximum floodwater elevation. Slope stability was analyzed with Geostudio using the Bishop method to determine the factor of safety (FS). The results indicate that the maximum 1,000-year rainfall reaches 550.82 mm, generating a peak discharge of 1,152.26 m³/s, exceeding the design discharge of 380.73 m³/s. Hydraulic simulation showed a floodwater elevation of +183.59 meters, while slope stability analysis confirmed that all FS values remained above the safe limit of 1.30, ensuring dam stability. This study integrates updated hydrological data with geotechnical modeling to enhance understanding of dam resilience under extreme conditions. Recommendations include spillway capacity improvements, early warning systems, and continuous monitoring to mitigate future flood risks.

Abstract

The 508 meters of drainage channel in Sriwijaya street is divided in half due the railway. The flow in drainage channel is changes gradually as a result of the culverts's smaller dimension than the drainage channel's existing dimension. As a result, occured flooding area in Sriwijaya street. Long storage planning in drainage channel's main can optimizes the productivity of drainage system to manage regional flooding. The drainage channel is designed to be 1,2 m x 1,2 m to accomodate a 10-year flood discharge of 1,31 m3/sec for Trace 1 ad 0,65 m3/sec for Trace 2. Trace 1 is the main part of the Jalan Sriwijaya drainage system, that is designed to be a long storage area, because it is located upstream of the railroad culvert. Considering a volume capacity of 1808.84 m3, the long storage in Trace 1 can accommodate a maximum flood volume of 1780 m3.
