Abstract

The large amount of work piling up at BMKG Region 1 Medan means there is no time to carry out maintenance on the SIMPER website. So the SIMPER website was handed over to the author to update the icons, tool data and station data. Maintenance is carried out during the internship period or ± 1 month, so that the SIMPER website can provide information on stations that are active or have repaired measuring equipment. In making icons, the author designs icons using the Android application, namely Pixellab. In this research the author used the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) development method. The aim of this research is to change the tool icon on the SIMPER web so that the icon display is better than before and it is easy to indicate whether it is active or not with the shape of the space and with images related to the previous icon and the aim of updating the tool data is to indicate on the initial appearance of the web SIMPER that the station is active or inactive (has not updated data).

Abstract

The Meteorological Equipment Park is a park in which there are several tools for observing meteorological parameters. The Tool Garden contains several tools for observing surrounding weather elements. This application aims to increase efficiency in monitoring and management of meteorological and geophysical tools. With a focus on the user interface, this application is designed to provide information regarding what tools are available at the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Region 1 Medan. The result of this research is the creation of an Android-based BMKG Region 1 Medan Tool Park Application for the community and BBMKG Region 1 Medan using the stages in the (RAD) method, namely Requirements Planning, Design Workshop, and Implementation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem informasi prediksi cuaca harian berbasis teknologi geospasial yang dapat digunakan oleh BMKG Medan untuk meningkatkan keakuratan dan efisiensi dalam menyampaikan informasi cuaca kepada masyarakat. Teknologi geospasial dimanfaatkan untuk mengintegrasikan data meteorologi dengan data spasial, memungkinkan analisis prediktif yang lebih detail dan sesuai dengan kondisi lokal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem menggunakan Unified Modeling Language (UML), dan implementasi prototipe. Sistem dirancang untuk mengolah data dari sensor cuaca, data geospasial, dan model prediktif sehingga menghasilkan informasi cuaca harian yang akurat. Sistem ini juga dilengkapi dengan fitur notifikasi cuaca ekstrem dan akses data historis untuk keperluan analisis lanjutan oleh peneliti.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem ini mampu memberikan prediksi cuaca harian yang lebih cepat dan efektif dibandingkan metode manual. Selain itu, sistem ini mempermudah masyarakat dalam mengakses informasi cuaca terintegrasi dalam aplikasi android, sehingga dapat memberikan kemudahan akses dan pemanfaatan data cuaca harian secara real time. Dengan demikian, sistem ini diharapkan dapat mendukung BMKG Medan dalam meningkatkan layanan informasi cuaca serta mitigasi bencana terkait kondisi cuaca ekstremKata Kunci: Sistem Informasi, Prediksi Cuaca, Teknologi Geospasial, BMKG Medan, Analisis Spasial. ABSTRACTThis study aims to design a daily weather prediction information system based on geospatial technology that can be used by BMKG Medan to improve the accuracy and efficiency in delivering weather information to the public. Geospatial technology is utilized to integrate meteorological data with spatial data, enabling more detailed predictive analysis that is in accordance with local conditions. The research methods used include needs analysis, system design using the Unified Modeling Language (UML), and prototype implementation. The system is designed to process data from weather sensors, geospatial data, and predictive models to produce accurate daily weather information. This system is also equipped with extreme weather notification features and historical data access for further analysis by researchers. The results of the study show that this system is able to provide faster and more effective daily weather predictions than manual methods. In addition, this system makes it easier for the public to access integrated weather information in the Android application, so that it can provide easy access and utilization of daily weather data in real time. Thus, this system is expected to support BMKG Medan in improving weather information services and disaster mitigation related to extreme weather conditions.Keywords: Information Systems, Weather Prediction, Geospatial Technology, BMKG Medan, Spatial Analysis.
