Abstract

Mathematics Study Program, Department of Mathematics FMIPA UNHAS as the State Higher Education Institution makes a Community Service activity as a form of caring for the environment, especially in improving Human Resources (HR) for high school teachers in mathematics studies in Enrekang Regency. The Regional Science and Technology Community Service Program (IbW) is one solution for the problem. This IbW program is a series of activities of Hasanuddin University's 62nd Anniversary which has been carried out in the Hall of SMA 1 Enrekang 1 in Anggeraja District, Enrekang Regency. The partners involved were 14 schools at the SMA/SMK/MAN level in Enrekang Regency with a total participants is a varied school with a total of 40 teachers. The purpose of this Community Service implementation was to SMA Mathematics Teachers in Enrekang Regency to increase their passion to teach them to be more varied focused on visualization so that mathematics looks more real. Some science and technology packages that have been implemented are: 1). Microsoft Excel software, 2). Maple software and 3). Geogebra Software. The results of this activity can improve the competence of mathematics teachers in the enrichment of subjects to their students.

Abstract

Computers as learning media have become mandatory in the teaching and learning process. Mathematical learning in which the field of study is abstract and requires logical thinking is also inseparable from computer learning media. Many software made to facilitate mathematics learning activities, among others: Geogebra, Microsoft Mathematic, Maple, Matlab, SAS, SPSS etc. The dedication activities have been carried out by the Mathematics Department of FMIPA in collaboration with the Hasanuddin University Research and Community Service Institute (Lp2M) in Mathematics Subject Teacher (MGMP) at the junior high School in Pangkajene and Kepulauan District (Pangkep) held in the Junior High School 4 hall with a number of participants as many as 30 teachers from 23 various junior high schools in Pangkep Regency who are members of the MGMP. The purpose of this activity is to improve the ability of junior high school mathematics teachers in Pangkep Regency to use computer-based learning media such as Maple and Matlab. The material provided was training on Maple and Matlab software to support mathematics learning. The results of this activity can improve the ability of mathematics teachers to master mathematical material assisted by software.

Abstract

The achievement of Mathematics contestants from the City of Pare-pare is very concerning. In February 2017elementary school mathematics competition was held. Of the 82 participants from Pare-pare, there were only 13 studentswho got scores above zero. Other students get zero or less than zero (negative). In March 2018, from 17 MathematicsEvent XVIII 2018 participants from Pare-pare, only 5 students had got positive scores. There was a decrease in interestand achievement in Mathematics in elementary school students in Pare-pare. The solution offered was training forMathematics Elementary School teachers by emphasizing learning method with playing. This is intended so that childrenhave enjoyed Mathematics from the beginning so that in the future the interest in learning Mathematics will be evengreater

Abstract

In a simple graf G, two veritces u and v are called adjacent in G if {u,v} ia an edge of G. The adjacency matrix A of G is the n x n zero-one matrix with 1 as its (i,j)th entry when vi and vj are adjacent, and 0 as its (i,j)th entry when they are not  adjacent. In this paper will be described the characteristic of characteristic polynomial of a graph. Moreover, the relationship between the characteristic polynomial of a graph with characteristic polynomial of its subgraph will also be outlined. In addition, will also be described the shape of eigenvalues and eigenvectors of certain graph.

Abstract

To measure of how close the ring is to being Artinian ring is used usually so called Krull dimention. In the case of noncommutative rings, the Krull dimention is measured on the lattice of ideals. In this situation, the lattice of  ideals is seen as a poset (partial ordered  set) and then the deviation of the poset is measured. This paper will describe, completely, deviation of posets including the deviation of product of two posets. Moreover, this paper also will present characteristic of poset which has a deviation and does not have.

Abstract

Maximal and Prime Ideals of Skew Polynomial Ring Over the Gauss Integers Domain. Let R be any ring with identity 1, σ be an automorphism of R and δ be a left σ-derivation. The skew polynomial ring over R in an indeterminate x is the set of polynomials anx n + an-1x n-1 + . . . + a0 where ai∈ R with multiplication rule xa = σ (a) x + δ(a) for all ai∈ R. In this paper, R is Gauss integers, i.e Z + Zi, where i 2 = -1, σ is the automorphism of R with σ(a + bi) = a - bi where a,b∈ Z, the ring of integers, and δ is the zero σ-derivation. We will show maximal and prime ideals of this skew polynomial ring.

Abstract

Let G= (V, E) be a graph order n and an edge labeling ψ: E→{1,2,…,k}. Edge k labeling ψ is to be modular irregular -k labeling if exist a bijective map σ: V→Zn with σ(x)= ∑yϵv ψ(xy)(mod n). The modular irregularity strength of G (ms(G))is a minimum positive integer k such that G have a modular irregular labeling. If the modular irregularity strength is none, then it is defined ms(G) = ∞. Investigating the firecrackers graph (Fn,2), we find irregularity strength of firecrackers graph s(Fn,2), which is also the lower bound for modular irregularity strength, and then we construct a modular irregular labeling and find modular irregularity strength of firecrackers graph ms(Fn,2). The result shows its irregularity strength and modular irregularity strength are equal.

Abstract

In this article, we study an analogue of a classical result for M-matrices: if T - I is an invertible M-matrix, then both T and I - T-1 are also invertible M-matrices. We extend this implication to a broader class—inverse H-matrices. The expressions T - I and I - T-1 commonly arise in the analysis of matrix stability, convergence of iterative methods, and spectral transformations, making their structural properties important for numerical analysis. We demonstrate that this implication does not generally hold for inverse H-matrices. However, we derive some conditions under which it remains valid. Specifically, we prove that under certain conditions, if T - I is an inverse H-matrix, then T and I - T-1 are also inverse H-matrices. Additionally, we investigate the result in the context of group inverses, showing that it does not hold for group inverse M-matrices and H-matrices.
