Abstract

In language learning, four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) are essentially trained and developed. However, with various obstacles, listening skills are still underestimated. This research was conducted to find out the understanding of elementary school teachers under the auspices of Yayasan Xaverius Palembang related to the implementation of learning listening. This research was conducted in six schools under the auspices of Yayasan Xaverius Palembang using a qualitative research approach. The research involving 11 respondents of class I teachers showed the results of the teachers studied have not done the proper listening learning. Such inaccuracies relate to the listening teaching materials used, listening learning techniques, and evaluation of listening.

Abstract

Literacy culture is associated with reading and writing skills. To foster a culture of literacy, prospective elementary school teachers need to have a culture of literacy first. This study aims to describe the method used by lecturers in developing literacy culture for prospective elementary school teachers at Catholic University of Musi Charitas Palembang. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. The results showed that prospective primary school teachers at the Catholic University of Musi Charitas Palembang were given the opportunity to obtain information from various sources. PGSD lecturers provide a real example in literacy culture with the habit of reading and writing. In addition, learning activities are implemented with a model of discussion and assignment in the form of paper writing also facilitating the need to obtain information from various sources through reading and writing activities. The things stated above become a strategy for developing literacy culture for prospective elementary school teachers carried out by UKMC PGSD lecturers.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe curriculum becomes one of the important things in the implementation of learning activities. This is because the curriculum contains the objectives to be achieved through learning activities. Changes in curriculum in Indonesia certainly need to be accompanied by understanding and implementation in school. This study describes theimplementation of the curriculum in elementary schools belonging to the Palembang Xaverius Foundation. This study is part of the research on the development of teaching materials and was carried out in six elementary schools under the auspices of the Palembang Xaverius Foundation in September 2016. The interviews were used to collect data and data analysis was carried out with reference to qualitative research procedures. The results showed that the six schools studied carried out the 2013Curriculum for one semester and continued with returning to the Education Unit Level Curriculum. in the year the research was carried out, the government determined to implement the 2013 Curriculum for several schools.Keyword: curriculum, elementary school, curriculum implementation

Abstract

This dedication is titled Assistance in Writing Scientific Work in the Context of Preparation for the Olimpiade Sains Tarakanita Nasional (Ostranas) Competition. The targets and outcomes in this activity are participants writing Tarakanita scientific papers throughout Indonesia representing Lahat, able to write scientific papers that can be represented in Ostranas This training activity is a form of guiding the writing of scientific papers to be included in Ostranas. There are several methods used in community service activities at St. Yoseph Lahat include: 1) The method of discussion, finding and solving problems in writing scientific papers; 2) Assignment method, assignment in completing writing scientific papers according to agreed targets; 3). Presentation method, participants simulate the presentation of scientific papers. The results of this activity are in the form of a better understanding obtained by educators and student representatives from the Tarakanita Foundation, Lahata in writing scientific papers. In addition, for educators who were representatives of scientific writing writing competitions, they won second place in the entire Tarakanita Foundation in Indonesia
