Abstract

This research attempted to study about the development of tourism potential in East Lombok Regency (object: Surga Beach). It adopted a descriptive qualitative research design. The data was in the form of qualitative data and collected through interview. The result explained about the development of the potential and its inhibiting factors in East Lombok Regency. With surga Beach’s contribution to Locally-Generated Revenue (PAD) and better regional autonomy, East Lombok still had many problems in developing the tourism potential. The development is hoped to give a positive impact to tourism in Indonesia in general and tourism in Lombok in particular that government, local people and private parties should pay greater attention to it.

Abstract

PRODUKSI KATA DAN KALIMAT SISWA KELAS III, IV, DAN V SEKOLAH DASAR:Studi Kasus Pada SDN 09 Air Tawar Barat PadangAbstractMost linguists, including psycholinguists, use oral (verbal) language as the data in their studies. This is caused by the ideas that language is a sound system. This study was different. It made use of the written work of the students of grade III, grade IV, and grade V of elementary school in Padang as the source of the data. The data were analyzed to see the differences and the development gained by the students at those grades. The result of data analysis shows that number of sentences and words produced by grade 4 students is lower than those  produced by grade 3 students. But grade 5 students can produce more sentences and words compared to the other two grades.  Dealing with kinds of sentences produced, it is found that the total number of verbal sentences and nominal sentences increase from grade 3 to grade 4 and to grade 5. On the other hand, the number of simple, complete, active, and positive sentences are lower at grade 4 but higher at grade 5. Good point from the students’ works is that the students can produce more complex sentences, complete sentences, and passive voice, at higher level. This indicates the progress they gain from grade 3 to grade 4 and to grade 5.Key words:  produksi, perkembangan, kata, kalimat, jenis kalimat AbstrakKebanyakan ahli bahasa, termasuk psikolinguistik, menggunakan bahasa lisan (verbal) sebagai data dalam penelitian mereka. Hal ini disebabkan oleh gagasan bahwa bahasa adalah system bunyi. Penelitian ini berbeda. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan karya tulis siswa kelas III, kelas IV, dan kelas V SD di Padang sebagai sumber datanya. Data dianalisis untuk melihat perbedaan dan perkembangan yang diperoleh siswa tersebut. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa jumlah kalimat dan kata-kata yang dihasilkan siswa kelas 4 lebih rendah dari pada siswa kelas 3. Tapi siswa kelas 5 dapat menghasilkan lebih banyak kalimat dan kata-kata dibandingkan dengan dua nilai lainnya. Terkait dengan jenis kalimat yang dihasilkan, ditemukan bahwa jumlah total kalimat verbal dan kalimat nominal meningkat dari kelas 3 ke kelas 4 dan ke kelas 5. Di sisi lain, jumlah kalimat sederhana, lengkap, aktif, dan positif lebih rendah di kelas 4 tapi lebih tinggi di kelas 5. Poin bagus dari karya siswa adalah bahwa siswa dapat menghasilkan kalimat yang lebih kompleks, kalimat lengkap, dan suara pasif, pada tingkat yang lebih tinggi. Hal ini menunjukkan kemajuan yang mereka dapatkan dari kelas 3 sampai kelas 4 dan kelas 5.Kata Kunci:  produksi, perkembangan, kata, kalimat, jenis kalimat

Abstract

Male and female are said to speak differently in any communities. Many studies have made use of oral discourse as the source of the data and it is very rare found that the studies make use of written discources. This study is based on the students writing entitled “Experience during Vacation”. They are the fifth grade of 09 Elementary School Air Tawar Barat Padang. After analyzing their writings, it is found that female students produce more words, more verbs, more sentences (verbal or nominal and simple or embedded) compared to male students. In addition, female students produce less mistakes in using capital letter and other mechanical matters. The male students, on the other hand, produce less words, less verbs, less sentences (verbal or nominal and simple or embedded) compared to female students. In addition, male students produce more mistakes in using capital letter and other mechanical matters. One interesting thing is that even though male students produce less verbs in numbers, they have more various verbs compared to female students. Many female students use the same verbs as others and some use the same verbs repeatedly in their writings. The male students did not repeat the use of the same words very often.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor risiko terjadinya penyakit kardiovaskuler adalah hiperkolesterolemia. Buah Naga Merah mengandung antioksidan tinggi yang diyakini dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui mutu organoleptik, mutu kimia dan daya terima yoghurt dengan penambahan sari buah naga merah sebagai minuman fungsional bagi penderita hiperkolesterolemia. Desain experiment quasy, rancangan non randomized control group design 1 kontrol dan 3 perlakuan. Uji tingkat kesukaan pada 30 panelis terlatih dan uji daya terima 30 pasien hipekolesterolemia. Uji sidik ragam 5 %, hasil analisa menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan nyata tiap perlakuan terhadap mutu organoleptik dengan penambahan sari buah naga merah. Total bakteri asam laktat memenuhi SNI dan Daya Terima 96%. Perlu penelitian lanjutan untuk memeriksakan kadar Pb dan daya simpan yoghurt penambahan sari buah naga.

Abstract

Abstrak: Rancangan pembelajaran yang berkualitas dan efektif serta mengikuti perkembangan zaman membutuhkan penggunaan media pembelajaran yang menarik, memotivasi, dan meningkatkan aktivitas pembelajaran berupa komunikasi dua arah dalam proses pembelajaran. Aplikasi Canva menjadi salah satu platform pengemasan media pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan degan berbagai desain yang menarik dan dapat diakses dengan mudah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang tediri atas  dua siklus yang meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan  tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian terhadap subjek siswa kelas X IPK MAN 1 Pesisir Selatan sebanyak  21 siswa. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah observasi, tes,dan dokumen hasil belajar. Analisis data Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian menunjukkan hasil belajar pada siklus I  sebesar 42,85%, siklus II sebesar 57,14 % dan hasil belajar pada akhir siklus III sebesar 80,95 %. Peningkatan hasil belajar ini sejalan dengan aktivitas belajar siswa dalam mengajukan pertanyaan dan menjawab pertanyaan semakin meningkat.Abstract: Quality and effective learning designs that keep up with the times require the use of learning media that are interesting, motivating, and enhance learning activities in the form of two-way communication in the learning process. Through the Canva application, the packaging of learning media can be used with various attractive designs and can be accessed easily. This research is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles: the planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subject is student class X IPK MAN 1 Pesisir Selatan subjects with as many as 21 students. Sources of data used are observations, tests, and learning outcomes documents. Classroom Action Research data analysis with quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. Research shows learning outcomes in the first cycle at 42.85%, the second cycle at 57.14%, and the learning outcomes at the end of the third cycle at 80.95%. This increase in learning outcomes is in line with the increased student learning activity in asking and answering questions.

Abstract

Speaking is one of the language skills that students must master, even though it is not easy. Teacher must implement appropriate teaching strategies to overcome students’ speaking difficulties. This study aimed to find out the teachers' strategies in teaching speaking at MAN 2 Padang and the students’ perceptions of the strategies in teaching speaking. This research was descriptive research with a mixed approach that combines qualitative and quantitative data. The samples for this research were three English teachers and the students of three classes where the observations were carried out. The instrument were observation, interviews, and questionnaire. Observation and interview data were analyzed by activating data, making transcripts, and drawing conclusions. Quesinoer data was analyzed using Excel. The results of this research indicate that teacher A used live listening, drilling and chant, writing task, discussion, presentation, and outside-class speaking strategies. The students’ perceptions of Teacher A’s strategies were good with average perception results ≥76%. Teacher B uses recording and transcript, live listening, drilling, writing task, dialogue, role-play, and discussion strategies. The students’ perceptions of Teacher B’s strategies were quite good with average perception results ≤75%. Teacher C uses live listening, writing task, dialogue, role-play, discussion and debate, and presentation strategies. The students’ perceptions of Teacher C’s strategies were good with average perception results ≥76%. It can be concluded that the teachers at MAN 2 Padang use recording and transcript, live listening, drilling and chant, writing task, dialogue, role-play, discussion and debate, presentation, and outside-class speaking strategies in teaching speaking and students’ perceptions of the strategies were good.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the level of students speaking competence of grade VIII MTsN Nurul Islam Islamic Boarding School, and the activities undertaken by students to hone their speaking competence. This descriptive research used a qualitative method. The participant consisted of 33 students of grade VIII Nurul Islam Islamic Boarding school. The research instrument are documentation and observation. The documentation used in this research is the score of students speaking examination. While the observation used for analyze the activities of the students. the study instrument comprises the documentation findings, were analyzed using SPSS 26 for Windows and Pearson Product Moments. Based on the research analysis, it was found that the level of students speaking competence is the good level with the mean score was 73.39. on the other hand, there are several speaking activities researcher assumed as support for students speaking competence of MTsN Nurul Islam Islamic Boarding School. In the classroom, teachers initiate discussions to foster active participation and critical thinking, engage students in question-and-answer sessions to reinforce learning, and organize group presentations on specific topics to encourage teamwork and public speaking. Additionally, communication games like "Two Truths and a Lie" are used to maintain interest and improve verbal fluency. Daily activities include bi-weekly public speaking sessions where students present memorized speeches, weekly conversation practices where students engage in dialogues based on provided texts, and regular vocabulary exercises where students learn and use new words in sentences, with periodic assessments to ensure retention.

Abstract

The English learning process was considered difficult and boring for students. This made students lose interest in learning English. Students' interest in learning could emerge through a fun learning process. One way that teachers could use to create a fun learning process was to use humor. In this study, researcher tried to find out students' interest in learning English with teachers who used humor in the teaching and learning process. The population was 12th grade students from SMKN 53 Jakarta while the sample was four classes of 12th grade students at SMKN 53 who were collected using purposive sampling technique. The total participants in this study were 100 students who were collected using questionnaires and strengthened by interviews. This study used a descriptive quantitative method. The data analysis technique used for the questionnaire was the basic method of descriptive statistical analysis while in analyzing interview data researcher used data presentation. Based on the data obtained and analyzed, it was known that students' interest in learning English with teachers who used humor was very high. This could be seen from the average value of 3.352 for feeling pleasure, 3,138 for students’ engagement, 3.2 for students’ attention, and 3.0925 for students’ involvement. The results of the interview data also supported this statement.

Abstract

A laundry business is one that provides washing and ironing services. Laundry is another service-oriented business, and incorporating elements of technology and information into it will make it easier. The good impact of technology in today's business environment is felt not just by large-scale organizations, but also by small and medium-sized businesses that use information and communication technology to manage their operations. In this case, the researcher's title was Design of an E-Laundry Information System with Web-Based Implementation. This website can assist in the efficient operation of the laundry business and make it simple for customers to transact with laundry owners and administrators for data processing. The E-Laundry website will benefit users of laundry services, such as buying services, picking up laundry, and registering arriving clothing and new clients in a timely manner to be delivered to the admin, making it easier for business actors to support their company activities.In this situation, the use of information and communication technology will make business easier, faster, and more dependable, reducing the risk of human error. The goal of this research is to develop a web-based E-Laundry Information System. The method used in this study is the Waterfall method, which has an flow that includes design, analysis, implementation, testing, and maintenance. This system was built with UML (Unified Modeling Language) and the PHP Framework Laravel programming language, which is based on the MYSQL database.

Abstract

This community service activity is participation as judges in an elementary school English vocabulary competition at SDN 137/III Koto Salak. It aims to improve students' English vocabulary skills, learning motivation, and development of communication skills. The students learn about good preparation and teamwork through healthy competition. It also involves the community as volunteers and spectators, strengthening the relationship between the school and the surrounding environment. The results of this activity include increasing vocabulary skills, learning motivation, developing communication skills, and achievement awards. In this community service, good cooperation is needed between the school, judges, and community as well as evaluation and improvement for similar activities in the future. Utilizing these suggestions, this event is expected to be developed continually and provide greater benefits to participants, teachers, and the community in strengthening English language education.
