Abstract

This paper aims to find out the role of the church in the reality of multiple social relations frames. The church is in the midst of a world that cannot be separated from its social environment. The church is in the spirit of pluralism that promotes religious tolerance, which agrees that in all religions there is salvation. This spirit affects the church, some are open and some are closed to the spirit of pluralism. The author wants to convey that the church was sent to manifest God's love in society. The task of calling and sending the church into the world provides space for churches to participate and take responsibility for social life. This study aims to find out the function and way of life of the church within the framework of social relations in Indonesia which is pluralistic. In this study, the author applies a qualitative method oriented to the study of literature or literature. The author concludes that the church as a divine organism must be able to be an example and still glorify God in the context of social relations with the spirit of plurality. The role of the church is to be able to church within the framework of social relations, namely living in the principle of hospitality, being the perpetrator of harmony, and interpreting the role of religion in the reality of pluralism.  AbstrakTulisan ini bertujuan untuk menemukan peran gereja dalam realitas bingkai relasi sosial yang majemuk. Gereja ada di tengah-tengah dunia yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dari lingkungan sosialnya. Gereja berada dalam semangat pluralisme yang mengedepankan toleransi beragama, yang menyetujui bahwa dalam semua agama ada keselamatan. Semangat tersebut mempengaruhi gereja, ada yang membuka diri dan ada yang menutup diri terhadap semangat pluralisme tersebut. Penulis hendak menyampaikan bahwa gereja diutus untuk mewujudkan kasih Allah di dalam masyarakat. Tugas panggilan dan pengutusan gereja ke dalam dunia memberikan ruang bagi gereja-gereja untuk berpartisipasi dan turut bertanggung jawab atas kehidupan bermasyarakat. Kajian tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menemukan peran dan cara hidup menggereja dalam bingkai relasi sosial di Indonesia yang pluralitas. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menerapkan metode kualitatif yang berorientasi pada studi literatur atau kepustakaan. Penulis memberi kesimpulan bahwa gereja sebagai organisme Ilahi harus mampu menjadi teladan dan tetap mempermuliakan Allah dalam konteks relasi sosial dengan semangat pluralistasnya. Peran gereja untuk dapat menggereja dalam bingkai relasi sosial, yakni hidup dalam prinsip hospitalitas, menjadi pelaku kerukunan dan memaknai peran agama dalam realitas kemajemukan.

Abstract

This paper aims to find out the importance of education on the use of social media for the development of Christian youth. Education on the use of social media is a lesson that is poured and how to use social media with the aim of directing and providing a good lesson to the community, especially to teenagers. How to use social media well, so that social media is not used for something that is not good. Social media users, especially Christian teenagers, really need to be equipped with the right understanding through education on the use of social media, so that teenagers have wisdom in the use of social media. This research, uses a literature study research method. The results of this study indicate that there is a need for special teaching regarding education on the use of social media, especially for Christian youth in the current era of disruption. Therefore, both parents, teachers, and the church really need to actively participate in education about the use of social media for teenagers.

Abstract

Learning mentoring is an activity to provide assistance by a companion to individuals or groups who need help. The children on Semukit Island are the focus of this activity, children are lagging behind in reading, writing, and arithmetic. This is evidenced by the presence of children who cannot distinguish letters, cannot write, and have difficulty working on addition problems that should be done in a short time. When carrying out calistung learning mentoring, the community service team uses a mentoring strategy with an individual approach, namely one teacher accompanies a minimum of 1 child and a maximum of 3 children. This activity aims to help children catch up on lessons due to the pandemic period, where children miss lessons that are held online. Thus, children will be able to improve learning achievement. This writing uses participatory action research, where this research is to examine the educational process carried out in the community, namely Semukit Island located in Galang, Riau Islands. As a result of this assistance, children are able to recognize letters, read, write, do math, read and memorize English vocabulary.Keywords: children; study; calistung; accompaniment; semukit island AbstrakPendampingan belajar merupakan kegiatan memberikan pertolongan oleh seorang pendamping kepada individu ataupun kelompok yang membutuhkan pertolongan. Anak-anak di Pulau Semukit menjadi fokus kegiatan ini, anak-anak mengalami ketertinggalan dalam membaca, menulis, dan berhitung. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan adanya anak-anak yang belum bisa membedakan huruf, tidak bisa menulis, dan kesulitan untuk mengerjakan soal penjumlahan yang seharusnya bisa dikerjakan dalam waktu singkat. Saat melaksanakan pendampingan belajar calistung, tim PkM menggunakan strategi pendampingan dengan pendekatan individual, yakni satu pengajar mendampingi minimal 1 anak dan maksimal 3 anak. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menolong anak-anak dalam mengejar ketertinggalan pelajaran akibat masa pandemi, di mana anak-anak ketinggalan pelajaran yang dilaksanakan secara online. Dengan demikian, anak-anak akan mampu meningkatkan prestasi belajar. Penulisan ini menggunakan penelitian participatory action reseach, di mana penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti proses pendidikan yang dilaksanakan di tengah masyarakat, yakni Pulau Semukit yang terdapat di Galang Kepualauan Riau. Hasil dari pendampingan ini, anak-anak sudah bisa mengenal huruf, membaca, menulis, mengerjakan matematika, membaca dan menghafal kosakata Bahasa Inggris.Kata kunci: anak; belajar; calistung; pendampingan; pulau semukit

Abstract

Research on Christian education strategies in the era of disruption really needs to be done as the church's readiness to face the challenges of this era. The church needs to base its teaching on the teachings and actions of the Lord Jesus through His words in the Bible. Christian education today faces many challenges, with the ease of accessing any information, everyone tends to have an interest in being alone, because they are too preoccupied with online media that they access and have quite a negative influence. This study aims to find the challenges of Christian education in the era of disruption, opportunities and strategies for Christian education in the era of disruption. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Through research, it was found that the rapid development of technology has become a challenge for Christian education during the period of disruption. In addition, by utilizing existing technology, it is an opportunity for Christian education to be more easily conveyed to the wider community without limits. The strategy that can be done is that Christian education must be delivered with technology that is currently being developed and used by the wider community.

Abstract

Generation Z lives in a digital age, which is selfish and forgets the great task that God has given to believers. The Church is responsible and has an important role to play in preparing Generation Z for the implementation of this great mandate. The purpose of this research is to find out the needs of youth in carrying out the great mandate. This article was written using qualitative research methods with a literature study approach, by describing the concept of theological studies of the role of the church in equipping Generation Z in defending the faith for the implementation of the great mandate. it was found that teenagers in this era need the role of the church to form them into disciples who can make disciples, the church must equip Generation Z to carry out Jesus' commands to non-believers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Christian education in shaping the character of youth in the digital era. The background of this research stems from the observation that young people tend to dislike being regulated, prefer to follow their own desires, distance themselves from community, and spend significant time interacting in the virtual world, which they consider a trendy culture. The primary focus of this study is to understand how Christian education can adapt to contemporary challenges and fulfill the church's calling to be the light and salt of the world. This research will address questions regarding the understanding of Christian education in the digital age and its role in this context. Additionally, this study discusses the challenges of Christian religious education in the digital era, highlighting five roles of the church in shaping the character of youth: character formation, instilling discipline, fostering a sense of responsibility, instilling values of honesty, and nurturing a fear of God. The implementation of these strategies varies, and there is room for enhancing understanding and application, which is essential for shaping the character of the church's future generation. Latar belakang penelitian ini berakar pada fakta bahwa generasi muda cenderung tidak suka diatur, lebih memilih mengikuti keinginan sendiri, menjauh dari komunitas, dan menghabiskan waktu berinteraksi di dunia maya, yang dianggap sebagai budaya yang sedang tren. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami bagaimana pendidikan Kristen dapat beradaptasi dengan tantangan zaman dan memenuhi panggilan gereja sebagai terang dan garam dunia. Penelitian ini akan menjawab pertanyaan mengenai pemahaman pendidikan Kristen di era digital serta perannya dalam konteks tersebut. Selain itu, penelitian ini membahas tantangan pendidikan agama Kristen di era digital, dengan menyoroti lima peran gereja dalam membentuk karakter generasi muda: pembentukan karakter, penanaman kedisiplinan, rasa tanggung jawab, nilai kejujuran, dan sikap takut akan Tuhan. Implementasi strategi ini bervariasi, dan terdapat ruang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman serta aplikasinya, yang sangat penting untuk membentuk karakter generasi muda gereja di masa depan.Kata Kunci: era digital; generasi muda; kristen; pendidikan; peranan
