Abstract

Generation Z lives in a digital age, which is selfish and forgets the great task that God has given to believers. The Church is responsible and has an important role to play in preparing Generation Z for the implementation of this great mandate. The purpose of this research is to find out the needs of youth in carrying out the great mandate. This article was written using qualitative research methods with a literature study approach, by describing the concept of theological studies of the role of the church in equipping Generation Z in defending the faith for the implementation of the great mandate. it was found that teenagers in this era need the role of the church to form them into disciples who can make disciples, the church must equip Generation Z to carry out Jesus' commands to non-believers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Christian education in shaping the character of youth in the digital era. The background of this research stems from the observation that young people tend to dislike being regulated, prefer to follow their own desires, distance themselves from community, and spend significant time interacting in the virtual world, which they consider a trendy culture. The primary focus of this study is to understand how Christian education can adapt to contemporary challenges and fulfill the church's calling to be the light and salt of the world. This research will address questions regarding the understanding of Christian education in the digital age and its role in this context. Additionally, this study discusses the challenges of Christian religious education in the digital era, highlighting five roles of the church in shaping the character of youth: character formation, instilling discipline, fostering a sense of responsibility, instilling values of honesty, and nurturing a fear of God. The implementation of these strategies varies, and there is room for enhancing understanding and application, which is essential for shaping the character of the church's future generation. Latar belakang penelitian ini berakar pada fakta bahwa generasi muda cenderung tidak suka diatur, lebih memilih mengikuti keinginan sendiri, menjauh dari komunitas, dan menghabiskan waktu berinteraksi di dunia maya, yang dianggap sebagai budaya yang sedang tren. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami bagaimana pendidikan Kristen dapat beradaptasi dengan tantangan zaman dan memenuhi panggilan gereja sebagai terang dan garam dunia. Penelitian ini akan menjawab pertanyaan mengenai pemahaman pendidikan Kristen di era digital serta perannya dalam konteks tersebut. Selain itu, penelitian ini membahas tantangan pendidikan agama Kristen di era digital, dengan menyoroti lima peran gereja dalam membentuk karakter generasi muda: pembentukan karakter, penanaman kedisiplinan, rasa tanggung jawab, nilai kejujuran, dan sikap takut akan Tuhan. Implementasi strategi ini bervariasi, dan terdapat ruang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman serta aplikasinya, yang sangat penting untuk membentuk karakter generasi muda gereja di masa depan.Kata Kunci: era digital; generasi muda; kristen; pendidikan; peranan

Abstract

The era of disruption has brought significant changes to the world of education, including in the spiritual education of children within the church environment thru Sunday School. Digitalization, cultural changes, and shifts in family parenting patterns pose serious challenges that require the church to restructure its educational management approach. This article discusses the philosophy of Christian educational management rooted in biblical values and its application in Sunday School ministry amidst the dynamics of the times. Using a theological approach and literature review, this article emphasizes the importance of integrating spiritual values such as love, example, integrity, and service into the entire managerial process, from planning to evaluation. Additionally, strategies such as curriculum revision, teacher training, the use of digital technology, family involvement, and strengthening children's spiritual community are outlined as concrete solutions. It is hoped that this writing will contribute to the church in building relevant, transformative, and faithful Christian educational management amidst the era of disruption.Keywords: Management, Education, Christianity, Sunday School.  Abstrak Era disrupsi telah membawa perubahan besar dalam dunia pendidikan, termasuk dalam pendidikan rohani anak di lingkungan gereja melalui Sekolah Minggu. Digitalisasi, perubahan budaya, serta pergeseran pola asuh keluarga menjadi tantangan serius yang mengharuskan gereja untuk menata ulang pendekatan manajemen pendidikannya. Artikel ini membahas filosofi manajemen pendidikan Kristen yang berakar pada nilai-nilai Alkitabiah dan penerapannya dalam pelayanan Sekolah Minggu di tengah dinamika zaman. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan teologis dan kajian literatur, artikel ini menekankan pentingnya integrasi nilai-nilai rohani seperti kasih, keteladanan, integritas, dan pelayanan dalam seluruh proses manajerial,mulai dari perencanaan hingga evaluasi. Selain itu, strategi-strategi seperti revisi kurikulum, pelatihan guru, pemanfaatan teknologi digital, keterlibatan keluarga, dan penguatan komunitas rohani anak diuraikan sebagai solusi konkret. Diharapkan, tulisan ini menjadi kontribusi bagi gereja dalam membangun manajemen pendidikan Kristen yang relevan, transformatif, dan tetap setia pada misi ilahi di tengah era disrupsi. Kata Kunci: Manajemen, Pendidikan  Kekristenan, Sekolah Minggu.
