Abstract

In some cultures, prohibition from eating certain foods to postpartum mothers can affect nutritional intake. Food taboo means that several dish or cooking ingredients are not allowed to be eaten by individuals within this particular society for cultural reasons. This study aims to determine the description of cultural practices during the postpartum period in the Meratus Dayak tribe. This study used a qualitative research approach with in-depth interviews. The participant are postpartum mothers, traditional figure, shaman, and midwives of the village. The study found that there was still food taboo such as not being allowed to consume rancid foods like chickens’ meat and eggs. In addition, foods that are too sweet, too spicy and too sour, also foods that can cause itching. Taboo actions, one of which is during the postpartum period, the mother is prohibited from being exposed direct to the sunlight because it can cause blurred vision and even bleeding. The way to treat postpartum care in the Meratus Dayak tribe is to uses turmeric as a wound healing process, they believe that turmeric can dry out stitches in postpartum mothers. Breast milk treatment for the Meratus Dayak tribe is to utilizes a natural product, Lua fruits’ sap which is applied to the mother's breast ABSTRAK Pada beberapa budaya, pantang makan pada ibu nifas dapat berpengaruh terhadap asupan gizi. Pantang makanan adalah bahan makanan atau masakan yang tidak boleh dimakan oleh para individu dalam masyarakat karena alasan yang bersifat budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui gambaran praktik budaya pada masa nifas di suku Dayak Meratus. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview). Wawancara mendalam dengan informan utama ibu nifas, infroman triangulasi tokoh adat, dukun beranak, dan bidan desa. Penelitian menemukan masih adanya pantang makanan seperti tidak diperbolehkan mengkonsumsi makanan yang bersifat anyir contohnya daging ayam dan telur, manis, pedas asam serta makanan yang dapat menimbulkan gatal. Pantang perbuatan salah satunya dalam masa nifas ibu di pantang untuk tidak terpapar sinar matahari dikarenakan dapat menyebabkan penglihatan kabur bahkan pendarahan. Cara perawatan masa nifas pada suku Dayak Meratus menggunakan kunyit sebagai proses penyembuhan luka, mereka meyakini bahwa kunyit tersebut dapat mengeringkan luka jahitan pada ibu nifas. Perawatan ASI pada suku Dayak Meratus memanfaatkan hasil alam yaitu getah buah Lua yang dioleskan ke payudara ibu.

Abstract

Abstract Ilawati (2024). This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research entitled Analysis of the Implementation of the Storytelling Method on Students' Speaking Ability in Indonesian Language Learning in Class IV of Kayangan 1 State Elementary School for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. This research aims to analyze the implementation of storytelling methods which include; firstly, planning the application of the storytelling method to students' speaking skills, secondly, implementation of the application of the storytelling method to students' speaking abilities in Indonesian language learning and also to analyze the impact or implications of the storytelling method on students' speaking abilities. The results of this research show that: first, planning the application of the storytelling method to speaking skills includes: materials, media, strategies and techniques. Second, the implementation of the application of the storytelling method on speaking skills through several stages, namely the opening stage, the story telling stage, and the closing stage and the impact of the application of the storytelling method on speaking skills, namely the students' courageous attitude and appearing confident when speaking in front, mastery of vocabulary , enthusiasm and students' moral attitudes. Meanwhile, teachers can really help and make teaching and learning activities easier. Keywords: Storytelling Method, Speaking Ability, Indonesian language
