Abstract

This paper introduces a robust and inhanced version of dual control approach based on sequence decomposition loops in order to limit transient over-currents and improving the wind turbine’s operation during asymmetrical voltage dips faults. Indeed, the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG), employed in wind energy conversion system (WECS) to produce electrical energy from wind, highly susceptible to voltage drops, which can cause transient overcurrents in both the stator and the rotor. Without any protection system, these over-currents might damage the DFIG and its converters. The strategy put forward in this work minimizes the consequences of voltage dips on wind system functioning, such as electromagnetic torque fluctuations and it enables wind turbines to maintain electrical connection with the grid in the occurrence of such disturbances. The carried-out results are promising and showed that the proposed control method can effectively minimise the oscillations in electromagnetic torque, reactive power and DC bus voltage during the asymmetrical voltage dip. This analysis also demonstrated its ability to limit the transient over-currents of the DFIG.

Abstract

Recently, constellation of satellites has drawn a lot of interest from academia and industry as potential solution for extensive coverage of wide range of internet of things (IoT). In this work, IoT devices was assumed to be covered by constellation of low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites where the medium access control (MAC) technique called slotted ALOHA is employed. In this article, we use a constellation of satellites to reduce the collision domain and enhancing performance in order to obtain maximum results. We have carried out some modeling and simulations to optimize the number of satellites with different erasure probabilities with respect to IoT devices in order to enhance throughput and stability of slotted ALOHA protocol using the network simulator 2 (NS2). The numerical results have shown an improvement in terms of throughput and stability. And the simulation of the same system using NS2 is conducted and shows a good correlation with the theoretical study. Where the throughput reached 0.82% instead of 0.52%. Our findings offer proof that this method helps to use large number of IoT, and reduce collisions compared to conventional slotted ALOHA.

Abstract

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is a crucial technology for upcoming radio access networks since it allows several users to use the same time and frequency resources. It is positioned as a viable option for next-generation communication systems because to its capabilities to increase system capacity and spectrum efficiency. This essay investigates the effects of fair and fixed power allocation (PA) techniques on NOMA systems' uplink and downlink performance. It specifically assesses bit error rate (BER) and outage probability (OP), two crucial performance parameters. The paper provides a thorough comparison of the fixed and fair PA approaches, highlighting the advantages, and disadvantages of each. While fixed PA is easier to deploy, results show that it performs poorly in dynamic situations, increasing BER and OP, particularly for users with less reliable channels. Fair PA, on the other hand, improves system dependability, and user fairness by dynamically allocating power depending on user situations, thus reducing OP and BER. Future wireless networks will benefit greatly from its enhanced spectrum efficiency and up to 78% reduction in outage likelihood. With fair PA's higher flexibility and effectiveness in real-world, varied circumstances, the results underline the significance of selecting appropriate PA techniques for NOMA systems.
