Abstract

This research evaluates the effect of strengthening government internal audit’s (APIP) roles on reducing state budget loss in Indonesia. Since 2014, the role of internal audit as a provider of objective quality assurance is strengthened by adding comprehensive consulting activities that are inherent in each cycle of state budget process to make sure that there are no irregularities on managing the stage budget. By using the difference-in-differences (DID) approach, this study analyzes state budget loss data obtained from the Audit Board of Republic of Indonesia (BPK) in 492 cities/districts during 2009-2018. The results show that strengthening internal audit’s roles decreased state budget losses in the regions that have a relatively high capital expenditure by 0.435% and it is significant at 1% level. This finding shows the positive effect of adding a consulting role to government internal audit on reducing the state budget losses in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to see the impact of toll road construction of the Trans Java toll road on changes in a built-up land. The data processing and analysis in this study uses a difference-in-difference approach to see the impact before and after the construction of the toll road. This study uses district/city administrative boundaries as the unit of analysis and 92 regencies or cities. The selection of locations that are the focus of the research is based on the regency/cities through which the toll road passes as well as those bordering the regency/cities through which the toll roads pass.. The results of data processing and analysis show that there is an increase in the area of built-up land by 7% when compared to regency/cities that are not passed by toll roads. From a policy perspective, the construction of the Trans Java toll road can be said to have a positive impact on the built up land. That is, the closer to access, the more economic activity and growth of built up land

Abstract

Abstract

Peer-to-peer (P2P) lending offers investors the discretion to allocate funds based on their risk toler- ance. However, funds cannot be withdrawn until loans mature or are repaid by borrowers, rendering it a relatively high-risk investment. Research suggests that women in older age groups tend to exhibit greater risk aversion, though financial literacy may mitigate gender disparities. This study employs logistic regression to analyze the impact of gender, age, and education on P2P loan viability assess- ment. Our findings indicate that, generally, older lenders are less likely to finance high-risk loans. However, older women with at least a bachelor’s degree display behaviors that contradict this theory.
