Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of e-learning associated with learning style variables, prior knowledge, and internet self efficacy (ISE) in the Business Mathematics course. The research method uses descriptive statistics and correlations, where the learning styles studied are visual, auditory, reading, and kinesthetic. The results and conclusions of this study are (1) the majority of respondents have a visual learning style, (2) simultaneously learning styles, prior knowledge, and internet self-efficacy affect learning outcomes in e-learning strategies, (3) partially initial knowledge and internet self efficacy does not affect learning outcomes, and (4) The effectiveness of e-learning Business Mathematics is achieved in respondents with visual learning styles, because respondents with this learning style tend to have high internet self-efficacy, even though respondents have low prior knowledge of MathematicsTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektivitas e-learning dikaitkan dengan variabel gaya belajar, pengetahuan awal, dan internet self efficacy (ISE) pada mata kuliah Matematika Bisnis.

Abstract

Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) is a method for enhancing language teaching methods autonomously, utilizing language learning apps conveniently and flexibly. Engaging and interactive learning methods, such animation, images, and audio, can effectively communicate knowledge and enhance memory retention by being easily comprehensible and stimulating human senses. Innovative solutions are required to address the challenges of limited access, flexibility, and pedagogical assistance in Distance Education. This study utilizes the Design Based Research (DBR) technique to create Mobile Technology, a mobile application tailored for vocabulary acquisition. The development process consists of cycles of design, execution, and evaluation, emphasizing the requirements and environment of the learner. The implementation of VocUp Mobile Technology was successful and proven its efficiency in enhancing vocabulary proficiency. This program facilitates interactive and adaptable learning by incorporating elements that respond to user requirements and learning circumstances. Mobile technology has enhanced vocabulary acquisition by offering a more adaptable and convenient approach, addressing common obstacles in distance education. This facilitates the adoption of advanced and student-focused learning methods. This Mobile Technology provides a practical and efficient answer for vocabulary acquisition issues in a university setting, particularly in Distance Education. This program enhances language skills and promotes the creation of flexible and all-encompassing learning methods through its responsive and educational approach.

Abstract

Increased global energy demand has resulted in rapid growth in the oil and gas industry, including in Indonesia. Storage tanks play an important role in the storage of large quantities of liquids and must comply with strict technical standards and government regulations, such as American Petroleum Institute (API) 650, 653, and 575 and Permen of ESDM No. 32 of 2021. Seram Peaker 20 MW Masohi-Maluku Tengah MHP, as a vital asset for providing electrical energy, has a fuel storage tank that has never been inspected since the beginning of its operation. Non-compliance with API 653 standards potentially poses a risk of structural damage, leakage, and disruption to fuel supply. This research identifies the importance of periodic structural integrity evaluation using an Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge GM 100 to measure the decrease in plate thickness due to corrosion and predict the remaining service life of the tank. The results of the calculation show that each course starting from course 1-5 is 109.4 years, 72.3 years, 56.9 years, 43.6 years, 38 years, this shows that the Daily Storage Tank PLTMG Seram Peaker 20 MW Masohi-Central Maluku can operate for the next 38 years. Abstract

This study aims to examine the English language needs of Destination Tourism students from the perspective of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and to explore its pedagogical implications for vocational education. This study employs a conceptual approach through a literature-based analysis of ESP theory, communicative competence, and language needs in the tourism industry. The findings indicate that students primarily require functional oral communication skills, mastery of professional genres such as destination promotion and complaint handling, and intercultural competence in tourism service contexts. Furthermore, the diverse English proficiency backgrounds of students necessitate an adaptive, progressive, and task-based instructional design. The pedagogical implications highlight the importance of industry-oriented curriculum development, the implementation of authentic task-based learning, and performance-based assessment to enhance students’ workplace readiness. Therefore, the development of English for Tourism in vocational education must be contextualized and responsive to both professional demands and learner characteristics. Keywords: English for Specific Purposes, language needs, vocational education, tourism, course design

Abstract

Ambon is a city in the eastern part of Indonesia which is called "Ambon Manise" and is known as the place where great musicians were born. Ambon has been declared to become a world Music City in 2011 and realized in 2019, various efforts, both thoughts, energy, materials provided by the Ambon City government, have made Ambon City successful in establishing itself and winning this title. This study aims to find out whether the branding of Ambon City of Music influences the tourists’ decision in visiting Ambon The type of research used is descriptive verification. The population in this study are all the characteristics of those who visit Ambon city. The sampling technique used is Nonprobability sampling by way of Incidental Sampling so that the sample obtained is 100 tourists visiting Ambon. Data analysis technique and hypothesis testing used is multiple regression method. The research results show that brand image has a significant effect on visiting decisions. The factor that most influences the decision to visit is the strength of brand associations, this is supported because the information entered into consumers' memories is very strong and that information survives as the brand image of Ambon City of Music, this aspect needs to be considered so that brand image of Ambon city of music can be optimized to increase the number of tourist in visiting Ambon. Keywords: Brand Image, Visit Decision

Abstract

The inclusion of English in Indonesia’s primary education curriculum reflects a broader national effort to prepare students for global engagement. However, this policy initiative often collides with classroom realities, particularly in schools where English is taught by generalist or out-of-field teachers—those without formal qualifications in English language education. This literature-based study explores the pedagogical, emotional, and structural challenges faced by such educators, drawing from research published up to 2020. It reveals that out-of-field teachers often struggle with limited language proficiency, lack of methodological expertise, and diminished self-confidence, which results in textbook-dependent instruction and reduced communicative opportunities for learners. Despite these limitations, some teachers display resilience through informal peer learning, improvisation, and classroom innovation. Nevertheless, the mismatch between curricular expectations (as seen in Kurikulum 2013 and Kurikulum Merdeka) and teachers’ preparedness undermines instructional quality and learner outcomes. The study underscores the need for policy interventions that prioritize teacher training, ongoing professional development, and supportive school leadership. It concludes that the success of early English education hinges not solely on curriculum design, but on the capabilities, confidence, and well-being of the teachers tasked with delivering it.Keywords: out-of-field teaching, primary English education, Indonesia, teacher identity, curriculum implementation, teacher preparedness, pedagogical challenges.
