Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia is the country with the third largest number of cigarette smokers in the world. Cigarette smokers are dominated by males smokers. However, many smokers are adolescent. Smoking will cause great addiction in adolescence. The addictive substances contained in cigarettes will interfere brain development. This paper analyzes the cigarette smoking intensity determinants and their tendencies among males adolescents in Indonesia in 2017. The analisys use secondary data from the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS),with male adolencents smokers aged 15-24 years as the unit of analysis. Data were analyzed using ordinal logistic regression analysis. The results show that school status, work status, radio access, household economic status, age, and the cigarette smoke exposure in the house, were significantly affected the cigarette smoking intensity of males adolescent. These findings suggest that education about danger caused by cigarette smoking for children should be given as early as possible.

Abstract

Poverty is a problem faced by the whole world, especially developing countries. As a developing country, Indonesia prioritizes poverty alleviation in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and RPJMN 2020-2024, particularly in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as the province with the third highest percentage of poor people in Indonesia. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze poor households in the agricultural sector in NTT in 2020, considering that most of the poor households in NTT come from the agricultural sector. The results of binary logistic regression analysis using Susenas March 2020 data indicate that the age of the head of household (KRT), education of the household head, number of household members, access to business credit, internet access, and the agricultural sub-sector have a significant effect, while gender and land ownership have no significant effect on status. household poverty in the agricultural sector in NTT in 2020. To overcome poverty in agricultural households in NTT, the government needs to evaluate the 12-year compulsory education program and family planning with enough 2 children in NTT considering that the tendency to become poor is greater in households with KRT education from junior high school to senior high school. below, the minimum number of ART is 4 and the age of the head of household is younger. In addition, it is necessary to develop agricultural businesses in more productive sectors with easy access to business credit and the TIK to reach a wider market

Abstract

Stunting is the main malnutrition in Indonesia. One of the factors that affect stunting is maternal factor. Mothers play an important role in the process of children growth and development so that mothers are very important in overcoming malnutrition in children. The purpose of this study was to determine the maternal factor that influenced stunting the baduta in Kawasan Timur Indonesia (KTI) 2018. This study used Riskesdas 2018 data and analysis unit for baduta in KTI. The variables used are maternal education, mother's work status, classification of residence, consumption of tablet tambah darah, antenatal-care (ANC) visits, and consumption of mother alcoholic drinks. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis and binary logistics regression. The results of the analysis showed that there were 29.5 percent of baduta stunting in KTI. Mother's education, residential classification, and visit (ANC) have a significant effect on baduta stunting in KTI. Baduta stunting tendencies are greater in baduta with mothers with less educated mothers (OR=1,225), living in rural areas (OR=1,165), and ANC visits are less than 4 times (OR=1,12).

Abstract

The morbidity rate can be used to see the health quality of an area. In 2020 Southeast Sulawesi experienced an increase in morbidity and this figure was dominated by the elderly population, especially in rural areas. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the incidence of elderly morbidity in rural Southeast Sulawesi using Susenas KOR 2020 data and binary logistic regression methods. The results of data processing showed that family size, ownership of health insurance, smoking status, age, education level, and working status had a significant effect on the incidence of rural elderly morbidity. Rural elderly in small families, have health insurance, do not smoke, are 70 years old and over, do not attend school or do not finish elementary school, and do not work have a greater tendency to experience morbidity. Therefore, special attention is needed regarding the health status of the elderly, especially for the elderly who are over 70 years old and do not have a job.

Abstract

Maluku Province has the third highest average length of schooling (RLS) for women nationally, but the rate of female workers with below normal working hours (part-time workers) is quite high. This study aims to determine the general description of married women age 15-49 years as part-time worker in Maluku and the determinants, also their tendency based on the significant variables using data from the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) August 2019. The analytical method used is multinomial logistic regression. The results of the study indicate the variables that significantly affect the part-time worker status of married women of reproductive age are employment status, income, and business field. The status of involuntary part-time worker (underemployed) significantly affected by age, work sector, disability, and the presence of toddlers. The status of voluntary part-time workers significantly affected by regional classification and education. The tendency to become underemployed is highest among those who have incomes below the minimum wage, work in agricultural sector, and work in informal sector. Meanwhile, the tendency to become voluntary part-time workers is highest among those who have incomes below the minimum wage, and work in the agricultural sector. So, policy makers must ensure married women get a decent paid job.

Abstract

Nowadays, diphtheria cases always increase from year to year. Until now, no drug has been found to cure diphtheria, but there is the most effective way of prevention through immunization. It is known that diphtheria sufferers who don’t get immunizations increase every year. The purpose of this study is to determine the individual and contextual factors that influence the status of DPT immunization in Indonesia and its trends and to know the diversity between cities. The data used in this study are Susenas KOR and consumption and expenditure (KP) modules. The results of multilevel binary logistic regression analysis indicate that individual factors that influence the status of DPT immunization are residence classification, highest maternal education, ownership of immunization cards, birth order, and household poverty status. While the contextual are the ratio of posyandu to 100,000 population and PDRB. Characteristics of children aged 12-59 who do not get immunizations tend to live in rural areas, have mothers with the highest education in junior high school, don’t have immunization cards, who born late in households with many children, and come from poor households. Besides that, there is a diversity of characteristics between cities, which amounted to 22,19%.
