Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a silent disease because people do not know they have hypertension before checking their blood pressure. The incidence of hypertension reaches 9.4 million deaths worldwide every year, the number of hypertension sufferers will continue to increase sharply and it is predicted that by 2025 around 29% of adults worldwide will suffer from hypertension. Objective: This service aims to train foot massage for hypertensive patients in an effort to reduce blood pressure Method: used in this activity uses several methods and stages consisting of the preparation stage and the activity stage. The preparation stage consists of preliminary studies, coordination with partners as well as preparation of the location and supporting media. The activity stage consists of pre-testing participants, taking blood pressure measurements Result: Based on the results of the training, it was found that there was an increase in knowledge with an average increase in post-test results of 17.2 with the highest score in the post-test being 100. Conclusion: There was a decrease in blood pressure in hypertensive patients after the intervention with an average decrease in respondents' blood pressure of 10 mmHg

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, with its prevalence rising each year. Non-pharmacological therapies, such as cupping therapy, have become increasingly popular as alternative treatments for hypertension. This study aims to analyze the effects of cupping therapy on blood pressure reduction in hypertensive patients through a literature review. The method applied was a literature review using the PICOS approach. Articles were retrieved from Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and PubMed using the keywords “Cupping Therapy”, “Wet Cupping”, “Blood Pressure”, and “Hypertension” from 2020 to 2025. A total of 10 articles met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and were critically appraised. The results showed that both dry and wet cupping therapy effectively reduced systolic blood pressure by 20.90 mmHg and diastolic pressure by 22.38 mmHg. The therapy was administered for 20–30 minutes, with a frequency of once a week to once a month for a duration of 2–3 months. Conclusion: Cupping therapy is effective as a complementary intervention in reducing blood pressure among hypertensive patients when applied regularly with proper duration and frequency.

Abstract

The elderly population is part of family members and community members who are increasing in number in line with the increase in life expectancy, the elderly are also one of the vulnerable groups that need serious treatment because naturally the elderly experience a decline both in terms of physical, biological and mental. One of the health disorders that can appear in the elderly is mental disorders. The mental disorder that often appears during this period is depression, the highest prevalence of depression in Indonesia is experienced by the population aged 75 years at 8.9%, 65-75 years at 0%, and 55-64 years at 6.5%, the purpose of this study is to look at the effect of mindfulness on reducing the rate of depression in the elderly. The Evidence Base Nursing (EBNP) practice method is carried out in Linggasari District, Ciamis Regency. The number of respondents was 33 respondents, in eight weeks the respondents were given intervention therapy in groups with a vulnerable time of 1-2 hours. Based on the results of the normality test using Saphiro Wilk and Kolmogorov showed that the data were normally distributed (p>significance value 0.05), so that the statistical test on the difference between pre-intervention and post-intervention was carried out using the Paired t-Test. The results of the statistical test can be explained that there is a significant difference between the screening results of the first depression level measurement and the second pre and post screening after mindfulness is carried out and a p-value of 0.000 (P<0.05) is obtained.

Abstract

The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia continues to increase, characterized by increased blood pressure due to vasoconstriction of blood vessels. Hypertension management can be carried out through non-pharmacological approaches, including complementary therapies such as tomato juice. This study aims to identify and analyze research articles on the effect of tomato juice on lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients. The study design used a literature review. Article searches were conducted through Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and PubMed databases, with a search period of 2015–2025. A total of 12 articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. The review results showed that administering tomato juice at a dose of 150–250 grams per day for 1-4 weeks contributed to a reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the range of 1-10 mmHg. This effect is related to the content of lycopene, bioflavonoids, and potassium, which have antioxidant and vasodilatory activities. Although the majority of studies showed benefits, variations in design, intervention duration, and sample characteristics between studies indicate the need for cautious interpretation of the results and the need for research with more robust methodology. In conclusion, tomato juice has potential as a supportive non-pharmacological intervention to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients. However, these findings require further study through more standardized experimental studies before being widely integrated into primary healthcare practice.
