Abstract

Developing teachers’ information and communication technology (ICT) competence requires strategic leadership at the school level. This study explores the principal’s strategies for enhancing ICT competence among rural public junior high school teachers. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation at school. The findings reveal that most teachers demonstrate basic to intermediate ICT skills, with tools such as PowerPoint and LCD projectors being the most common. Supporting factors include the availability of ICT facilities, regular training, strong principal leadership, peer collaboration, and partnerships with the Education Office. However, limited funding, unstable internet, low teacher confidence, and heavy workloads hinder progress. The principal’s strategic responses include organizing training programs, involving teachers in external technical guidance, optimizing existing ICT tools, promoting peer learning through MGMP forums, and providing recognition to innovative teachers. This study contributes to the discourse on digital leadership and teacher capacity-building in resource-constrained contexts.

Abstract

This thesis discusses the use of problem based learning (PBL) models in natural and social science (IPAS) subjects to improve student learning outcomes in class V of private Islamic elementary schools in Tarbiyah Islamiyah Jelutung, Jambi City in 2024/2025. This study uses classroom action research (PTK) by implementing II cycles or action rounds. Data collection techniques in this study use planning, observation, documentation, test and non-test instruments in learning using the problem based learning (PBL) model. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in student learning outcomes in natural and social science (IPAS) learning using the problem based learning (PBL) model, this is evidenced by the increase in the percentage of test results from cycle I and cycle II. In the pre-cycle, namely 29.41%, cycle I, namely 47% of students who completed this had not reached the percentage of completeness, and continued with cycle II, namely 76% of students who completed had met the completeness. The findings of this study state that by implementing the problem based learning (PBL) model, it can improve student learning outcomes in natural and social science (IPAS) subjects with the material Harmony and Ecosystems.

Abstract

In order to improve the quality of education, speaking skills are one of the important aspects that students need to have. However, in reality the speaking skills of class IV students at State Elementary School 67 are still low. Therefore, this research aims to improve students' speaking skills through the application of role-playing methods. This research uses the Kemmis and McTaggart model which consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. In this way, it is hoped that students' speaking skills can improve and become more effective in communicating. Based on the results of observing teacher activities in cycle I, results were obtained with a percentage of 75%, then in cycle II teacher activity increased to 92% with very good qualifications. Meanwhile, the results of observing student activities in cycle I obtained a result of 73.73% and increased in cycle II to 88% with very good qualifications. Based on these data, it shows that there has been an increase in teacher and student activity in implementing role-playing methods in the learning process. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the role playing method is able to improve students' speaking skills in learning Indonesian for class IV students at State Elementary School 67.

Abstract

The head of the madrasa must be able to carry out supervision activities to improve teacher performance. Supervision will help identify deficiencies in the teacher's learning process so far. Then look for joint solutions to improve learning activities in the classroom. This study reveals the performance of Darul Ulum Private MTS Madrasah teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of this study are: 1) Supervision is carried out in several stages, namely: planning, implementing and tracking. Supervision is carried out by the head of the madrasa and assisted by the teacher council. Matters that are subject to supervision include: administrative and academic supervision. Administrative supervision is carried out before the implementation of distance learning. Academic supervision is carried out by means of tutors taking virtual classes or online classes; 2) Obstacles in the implementation of supervision, namely the schedule of solid activities, computer literacy is still low, madrasa facilities supporting online learning are not enough, 3) Follow-up for some teachers who are not proficient in teaching methods is through the Zenius application to make it easier for teachers to take part in online training. In addition, madrasas also provide the facilities needed for these teachers to carry out distance learning in the form of providing adequate computers and equipment

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of students and the use of conventional, passive learning media that made students feel bored during the learn-ing process. Monotonous and less engaging learning activities caused students to lose moti-vation to learn. In addition, the lack of opportunities for students to directly experience and practice the learning material became an obstacle in understanding the concepts being taught. Therefore, efforts were needed to improve students’ learning outcomes by providing treatment through more interactive learning media based on problem solving, namely Wordwall media based on Problem Based Learning (PBL). The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a significant effect of using Wordwall media based on PBL on the mathematics learning outcomes of Grade III students. This study employed a quantita-tive approach using a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected through ques-tionnaires and analyzed using normality tests and t-tests. The results showed an increase in questionnaire scores before and after the use of Wordwall media based on PBL, with the average score increasing from 6.8 to 15.5. The researcher found that the use of Wordwall media based on PBL had a significant effect on the learning outcomes of Grade III students. The significance test result was 0.000, and since 0.000 < 0.05, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted. This indicates that the use of Wordwall media based on PBL had a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

To what extent may environment-based learning media enhance IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies) learning outcomes for primary school students? That is the primary issue that our study aims to address. This quantitative research employed a real-world experimental design with a control group paradigm that included both a pretest and a posttest. A class that was taught utilising environment-based media served as the experimental group, while a class that was taught using traditional techniques served as the control group. To analyse the data, we used N-Gain, hypothesis testing, and tests for normality and homogeneity. On average (N-Gain score), the experimental group showed a substantial improvement (0.713), while the control group showed a little improvement (0.510). A hypothesis test with a significance level below 0.05 further demonstrated that the two groups were significantly different from one another. Students' performance in IPAS and the quality of their educational experiences are both enhanced by the usage of environment-based learning tools.
