Abstract

The current presence of the internet undeniably facilitates and accelerates individuals' ability to access and disseminate information, even leading to an information explosion. To manage this situation, digital competence is required to face the 6.0 era. The world's shift toward complete digitalization pushes humans to quickly adapt to digital infrastructure and digital services. To address this, humans need skills referred to as digital literacy. This research emphasizes the measurement of primary data, specifically objective digital literacy levels, using numerical data and statistical analysis. The study aims to determine the digital literacy level of Mandarin language students using the "æ•°å­—ç´ å…»" (Digital Literacy) instrument. The results of this study indicate that the digital literacy level of Mandarin students is at a fairly good level, with an overall average score of 3.25. The Digital Literacy Index across all dimensions falls into the advanced category (81.25%). Among the eight dimensions, two are categorized as "good," namely the Collaboration Dimension (3.45) and Social-Cultural Understanding (3.41). The other six dimensions fall into the "fairly good" category, with scores ranging from 3.11 to 3.40, including Functional Skills (3.40), Creativity (3.22), Communication (3.19), Information Searching and Selection Ability (3.11), Critical Thinking (3.15), and Digital Safety (3.14).

Abstract

Abstract: Language is essential for communication, while music is a form of expression for sharing emotions and psychological states. A song written or performed in Mandarin may have English linguistic features. Code-mixing is a phenomenon that is different from interference and is instead a way for bilingual speakers to communicate a speech act. Code-switching involves the deliberate use of different languages for specific purposes, often within the same conversation. This study aimed to identify the types of code- switching and code-mixing in the lyrics of the XOXO EXO-M (Chinese version) album and to determine their roles. A descriptive method with a qualitative approach was used to analyze the data, which were collected, sorted, recorded, and coded for analysis. The analysis revealed 52 instances of data, comprising 35 occurrences of code-mixing and 17 instances of code-switching in the lyrics of the album.

Abstract

Abstract: The analysis of literary works provides profound insights into human character and experience, while also shedding light on cultural values and social transformations. The research utilizes internet browsing and literature review techniques with data collection, data analysis, and presentation of the analyzed data. The data is analyzed considering David Krech's classification theory of emotions, where the character's emotions are classified based on the theory and connected to the existing conflicts. Through quotes in the film, deep emotional experiences for Jia Xiaoling are depicted. The theory of social emotions and self-awareness can help understand the feeling of embarrassment experienced by Jia. This theory emphasizes the importance of emotional attachment between a child and their mother in shaping the child's emotional development.

Abstract

Communication plays a vital role in human social interaction, with language serving as the primary tool for conveying messages, expressing identity, and shaping cultural development. Mandarin, as one of the most widely spoken languages, includes both formal and informal variations, such as slang. Slang is an evolving linguistic phenomenon that reflects social and cultural dynamics, particularly among young people. This study explores the characteristics, formation mechanisms, and social functions of Mandarin slang, with a focus on its usage on Weibo, one of China's most influential social media platforms. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze slang terms used in digital interactions between September and December 2023. The findings indicate that slang in Mandarin follows various linguistic patterns, including phonetic changes, abbreviations, metaphors, loanwords, and morphological adaptations. Additionally, slang serves multiple functions, such as strengthening social identity, fostering group cohesion, and enabling creative self-expression. Weibo significantly contributes to the dissemination and evolution of slang, as public figures, celebrities, and media organizations actively engage in language innovation through their posts. This study provides insights into the dynamic role of digital platforms in shaping modern language trends and highlights the impact of slang on communication patterns among Chinese youth.

Abstract

Abstrak Evaluasi belajar adalah proses pendidik untuk menentukan nilai belajar yang dilaksanakan melalui kegiatan penilaian atau instrumen tertentu. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan penulis, masih banyak guru bahasa Mandarin yang kurang memahami bagaimana menyusun instrumen penilaian sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran yang ingin dicapai. Tujuan pendampingan ini adalah membantu, menuntun dan memberikan saran-saran agar guru bisa menyusun instrumen dengan baik, yang bisa digunakan secara praktis pada proses kegiatan belajar mengajar. Instrumen yang baik akan meningkatkan kualitas evaluasi pembelajaran, mempermudah guru mengukur keberhasilan siswa dan membantu mengembangkan program pembelajaran, sehingga diharapkan bisa meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan mendorong peningkatan keterampilan masing-masing siswa.

Abstract

Pelatihan seni lukis tiup Tiongkok di SD Islam Cheng Hoo Surabaya merupakan bagian dari program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) yang diselenggarakan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Mandarin Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan budaya Tionghoa kepada siswa sekolah dasar melalui seni lukis tiup yang unik, yang mencerminkan filosofi harmoni dengan alam. Metode pelatihan meliputi penyajian materi dan praktik langsung dengan pendekatan experiential learning. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap budaya Tionghoa tetapi juga mengasah kreativitas mereka melalui pengalaman langsung. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa siswa antusias mengikuti kegiatan ini, terlihat dari kreativitas mereka dalam menghasilkan karya seni yang dipamerkan di kelas. Selain itu, pelatihan ini juga mempererat hubungan antarbudaya di lingkungan sekolah multikultural. Dengan pendekatan lintas budaya yang efektif, program ini diharapkan dapat diperluas ke lebih banyak sekolah untuk mendukung keberlanjutan pendidikan budaya Tionghoa di Indonesia.
