Abstract

Hydrogen is an alternative energy source that can be produced from renewable energy sources, such as biomass and is known as biohydrogen. In addition to abundant producing sources, biohydrogen is also environmentally friendly. But this biohydrogen industry will produce waste that will pollute the environment if simply thrown away. Industrial liquid waste can have a considerable impact on the environment, this waste can cause biological oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD). The high value of BOD and COD produced by this waste resulted in it not being discharged directly into the environment and special treatment was needed in advance. Technology that can be used in handling waste problems, among others, is the utilization of microorganisms as an effort to speed up the process of decomposition of waste, especially organic waste into organic fertilizers. Biohydrogen waste contained in the biohydrogen fermenter tank, then filtered biohydrogen waste which was originally in the form of slury, liquid waste is discharged and solid waste is stored to be mixed with goat manure. A mixture of biohydrogen waste and goat manure is made with a ratio of 20: 80 ; 40:60 ; 60:40 and 80:20 after all the ingredients are well mixed then the sample is stored in a sealed container that has previously been fitted with a thermometer to measure the temperature of the compost. The compost mixture sample is then stored for 30 days and observed its temperature and pH every day, and measured the moisture content at the beginning of the composting process and the end of composting After 30 days of storage the compost mixture is then analyzed nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K) levels. In the research on making compost from biohydrogen waste with maja fruit raw materials obtained the best results, namely at a ratio of 60:40 with N levels of 0.05%, P levels of 0.15% and K levels of 0.61%.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe technology that produces salted eggs is generally a simple technology. differences in the production process and quality of salted egg products are determined based on the processing method. The aim of this study salted eggs can be made in a short time through manipulation of osmotic pressure factors, soaking eggs in vinegar can open the semipermeable membrane on the egg shell so that the salt solution quickly enters in eggs. The research method is first to select duck eggs with good quality, then clean them, prepare a solution of acetic acid with a concentration of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. Then soak the eggs in a solution of acetic acid with time variations of 5,10,15 and 20 minutes. then wrap the eggs with red rock powder dough, put the egg packages into the heating device for 3 hours with a temperature of 60oC, clean the duck eggs, the last process is the SNI test and the organoleptic test.From this research, the results obtained for the salt content with a short soaking time (5 minutes) and the concentration of 15% acetic acid soaking solution had met the SNI 4277.1996 standard, namely a minimum of 2%. In this case, the soaking process of eggs using acetic acid functions to open the pores of the egg shells so that the oscillic salt process is faster. The results showed that the higher the concentration of acetic acid and the longer the immersion time, the salt osmosis rate was getting faster and the salt content in the eggs was getting higher, and with the osmotic pressure factor manipulation method salted eggs can be made in a short time namely 3 hours.

Abstract

Eceng gondok memiliki potensi untuk dijadikan sumber energi terbarukan yang menghasilkan biogas karena mempunyai kandungan hemiselulosa dan lignin yang menjadikan biomassa ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai biogas. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui (1) Perubahan tekanan biogas dari beberapa jenis bahan baku limbah sayur kangkung dan eceng gondok, (2) tekanan optimum biogas dari jenis bahan baku limbah sayur kangkung dan eceng gondok. Penelitian ini menggunakan bahan utama berupa limbah sayuran kangkung dan eceng gondok, starter kotoran tai sapi diperoleh dari Rumah Pemotongan Hewan (RPH) dan penambahan air. Adapun Prosedur yaitu mengumpulkan limbah sayur ksngkung dan eceng gondok yang telah dipersiapkan lalu dibersihkan terlebih dahulu kemudian dicacah, kotoran sapi dijadikan sebagai biostarter, kemudian mencampurkan kotoran sapi (perbandingan campuran bahan dan air = 3 : 1), dimasukkan digester selanjutnya fermentasikan dengan variasi waktu 1 sampai 13 minggu untuk sayur kangkung dan eceng gondok. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pengolahan dan analisis data, jenis limbah sayur kangkung dan eceng gondok menghasilkan tekanan biogas yang tidak berbeda-beda secara signifikan dengan tekanan untuk sayur kangkung = 103,37 kPa – 108,24 kPa sedangkan eceng gondok 105,55 kPa-111,86 kPa, dan tekanan gas optimum yang dapat dihasilkan dari bahan baku limbah sayur kangkung = 108,24 kPa dan eceng gondok = 111,86 kPa. Adapun Uji nyala api yang didapatkan yaitu selama 25 menit 10detik.
