Abstract

The East Kalimantan Covid-19 Task Force has again announced the addition of Covid-19 cases in East Kalimantan. As of December 31, 2021, the total positive cases in East Kalimantan were 158,332 cases. The status of the Covid-19 red zone is in six sub-districts, namely North Samarinda sub-district, Samarinda Ulu sub-district, Samarinda Kota sub-district, Sungai Kunjang sub-district, Sungai Pinang sub-district and Samarinda Ilir sub-district. Samarinda Seberang sub-district, Loa Janan Ilir and also in Palaran sub-district. Solutions that will be offered to these problems is mask distribution. This activity aims to increase awareness of how to properly handle mask waste. This service held in January 2022 at SMK 17 in Samarinda City. The service method used in this activity is socialization and procurement of used mask waste bins. The result of the service is that in addition to providing socialization, it also provides special trash orders for used masks so that they are not combined with other waste. The trash can provided is a trash can that can be opened without being touched, which is open via a hand sensor and can be closed automatically. The existence of the trash can is expected to increase students' attention to the importance of disposing of garbage in its place which is one of the efforts to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. The activity went smoothly with a series of activities providing material to teaching staff regarding 5M and preparation for face-to-face learning for students as well as providing New Normal equipment for schools in the form of hand washing soap, hand sanitizer, and tissue, and providing educational media in the form of banners and hand washing facilities as a means of reminder efforts in carrying out teaching and learning activities to always comply with the Health Protocol.

Abstract

Short toddlers (stunting) can be detected when a toddler has been measured in length or height, then compared with the standard, and the results are below normal. Short toddlers are toddlers with nutritional status based on length or height according to age when compared to the 2005 WHO-MGRS (Multicentre Growth Reference Study) standard, the z-score value is less than -2SD and is categorized as very short if the z-score is less from -3SD. Based on data on the stunting prevalence of East Kalimantan province in 2018-2020, especially in Samarinda in 2018, stunting cases were 26.26% in 2019 decreased by 24.75 and in 2020 remained at 24.7%. Meanwhile, based on data from the Samarinda City Health Office, in 2020 the prevalence of stunting was 11.9% and in 2021 it decreased by 10.7%. This service was carried out in July 2022 at one of the Posyandu in Kota Samarinda, namely at the Seroja Posyandu, Java Village, Samarinda Ulu District, Samarinda City. The service method used in this activity is the socialization of stunting prevention efforts. The main targets of this activity are pregnant women and toddlers who have been registered at the Seroja Posyandu. This activity began with socialization about sanitation and clean water on stunting and continued with a question and answer session. All activities that have been carried out went well.

Abstract

STI is a contagious disease that often occurs in risk groups such as FSWs in the Solong area, the working area of Samarinda’s Temindung Help Center. This study aims to determine the behavior of women sex workers in the prevention and search for treatment of sexually transmitted infections in the working area of Temindung Helping Health Center 2019. The purpose of this study is to find out the knowledge, attitudes and actions of FSWs in prevention and search for treatment in the work area of Temindung Helping Health Centers. The method used is a qualitative method with a case study approach through interview, observation and documentation techniques with 6 research informants WPS understanding of STI is more focused on general symptoms such as itching without knowing the type of STI and other specific characteristics. The attitude of WPS shows that it supports that agreeing STI must be prevented and treated appropriately and quickly while actions to prevent STI are still lacking which is indicated by not using condoms when serving customers. Efforts to search for STI treatment on WPS immediately seek medical treatment routinely to Health Care Workers and some use general medicine (Amoxicilin) It is recommended to be given counseling individually and counseling, especially at the time of treatment.
