Abstract

Work readiness is the possession of skills, knowledge, attitudes and understanding that will inspire fresh graduates to effectively complete assignments or work well. Individuals who have work readiness will find it easier to get a job. In general, fresh graduates are in the developmental stage of early adulthood, where their developmental task is to work. The purpose of this study is to provide benefits and efforts to increase work readiness in early adult individuals who have not yet found work. The type of research used is basic qualitative research and uses purposive sampling technique in the data collection process. Data analysis uses thematic analysis and credibility strengthening techniques using source triangulation and member checking. Based on the results of the analysis of research data shows that the skills, knowledge and attitudes related to job readiness in individuals are different. Early adult individuals generally show readiness in terms of perceptions of characteristics related to work situations as well as social abilities, adaptability and social interaction in work situations. In this study, there are several similarities between participants, namely having personal competencies (skills, knowledge, attitudes) and social relations that can shape their readiness to work. However, there are also some differences in terms of organizational knowledge, work attitudes, protocols, practices in the work environment, and work-related competencies. Things that can be done to increase work readiness or work readiness by fresh graduates are by honing and developing their abilities so that they can have work readiness by participating in career guidance programs, job training, internship programs, and other activities to improve work readiness.

Abstract

Job readiness can be defined as the degree to which a graduate is perceived to have the attitudes and attributes that make them ready to enter or they are ready to succeed in the work environment. The purpose of this literature study is to understand what factors indicate the dynamics of work readiness in individuals who will work so that they can provide benefits and efforts to increase work readiness. Search for literature used in research. This is taken from 3 journal databases, namely Garuda Dikti, SAGE & Science Direct by limiting the year the article was published for the last 5 years from 2017-2021. After going through the search and screening process with inclusion and exclusion criteria, it was found (N=7) seven research articles in this literature study. The results of this literature study indicate that the factors related to job readiness are personal factors, environmental factors, and educational factors. Personal factors are related to how the dynamics are psychologically, interests, talents, and motivations in individuals. External factors are related to the support of people around, knowledge, information and interaction with significant others such as parents, peers, teachers, etc. The educational factor is related to learning opportunities, gaining knowledge and opportunities to practice / go directly to the field. Thus, graduates who will enter the world of work can optimize their abilities during their education by following various skills according to their field of work later. Then the graduates can develop motivation in themselves as individuals who will be ready to work and get good support from the environment and people around them. This research can be a reference for job seekers in growing their readiness to look for work, as well as for readers to be able to identify what factors are needed in work, and can also be used by companies or employers as reference material in accepting workers.

Abstract

Every change faced by the organization has an impact on business processes and all employees. The ability to adjust to these changes can be time-consuming and encourages employees to be able to divide work and personal life responsibilities. One concept that can explain this phenomenon is work-life balance. Work-life balance is how to create and maintain a healthy and supportive work environment, which will make employees have a balance between work and personal responsibilities. This research aims to provide education and promotional efforts to employees to be able to increase knowledge about work-life balance and efforts to create a balanced life between work and personal life. This study uses a psychoeducational program to increase knowledge of the importance of work-life balance and efforts to apply it with a problem-based learning approach. Psychoeducation was carried out through webinars which were attended by 50 participants. Data collection techniques using convenience sampling, and data analysis using the t test. The results showed that overall the implementation of psychoeducation was given a value of 80.14% where this score reflects the participants' positive appreciation of the implementation of psychoeducation. Then the results of the pre-test and post-test statistics showed that there were differences before and after being given psychoeducation (p-value 0.00 <0.05), the differences indicated an increase in participants' knowledge regarding psychoeducational material regarding work-life balance. Work-life balance is one of the phenomena that encourage individuals to be able to understand their condition actively, so that psychoeducation with a problem-based learning approach is effective in involving participants in solving problems and having the skills to be able to solve problems. Online psychoeducation using a problem-based learning approach has proven to be effective in increasing participants' knowledge about the importance of work-life balance and efforts to implement it.

Abstract

Computational accounts of human exploration usually assume a stationary policy, in which a single set of parameters for value sensitivity and uncertainty seeking generates every choice in a task, so that all within-task variation is treated as decision noise. Neuroscience instead treats exploration and exploitation as dissociable modes between which the brain switches, which a stationary model cannot represent. We introduce the Markov-Switching Reinforcement-Learning (MS-RL) model, in which a first-order hidden Markov chain governs transitions among a small number of latent decision regimes, each with its own softmax policy over a shared value-learning process. The three regimes are exploitation, directed exploration, and random exploration. The model contains the standard stationary account (one regime) and a temporally unstructured mixture (memoryless transitions) as nested special cases, making the stationarity assumption testable. We estimate the model using Expectation-Maximization with Viterbi decoding and select the number of regimes using the Bayesian information criterion. A parameter- and state-recovery study confirmed that the generating parameters and latent regime paths are recoverable (parameter correlations 0.88–0.94; state accuracy 86 percent; Cohen’s kappa ≈ 0.79). Applied to an openly available two-armed bandit dataset (46 adults, 13,800 choices), a three-regime MS-RL model was preferred over the nested baselines, two- and four-regime variants, and a single-regime model with smoothly time-varying value sensitivity. An ablation analysis attributes the largest gains to the latent regimes and temporal switching. The decoded regime path revealed a systematic within-game shift from directed exploration toward exploitation. The estimated transition matrix provides a per-participant measure of strategy change that has no counterpart in stationary models. We conclude that exploration is better described as a dynamic state than as a fixed trait, and that modeling it as a switching process is both more accurate and useful.
