Abstract

Discovery-based learning plays a crucial role in enhancing students' mathematical understanding and critical thinking skills. This study analyzes the implementation of four major models Discovery Learning, Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL), Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and Project-Based Learning (PjBL) through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 52 Scopus-indexed studies. The findings indicate that these models effectively improve conceptual understanding, higher-order thinking skills, and student motivation. Data from TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) 2019 and PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) 2022 confirm that countries consistently implementing these models demonstrate superior mathematical performance. The integration of technology, such as GeoGebra and e-learning platforms, further enriches learning experiences and enhances instructional effectiveness. However, challenges remain, including time constraints, uneven understanding of implementation, and difficulties in assessment design. This study reaffirms that discovery-based learning is an appropriate approach for 21st-century mathematics education. Recommendations include increasing research at the primary and secondary education levels, exploring artificial intelligence-based learning technologies, and developing more effective assessment strategies to support the implementation of this model across diverse educational contexts.      Keywords: discovery-based learning, mathematics education, systematic literature review.

Abstract

STEM and STEAM education has become a strategic learning approach in addressing global challenges in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0 era, focusing on developing 21st-century skills, such as creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and collaboration. This study used bibliometric analysis of 535 articles from the Scopus database published between 2014 and 2025 to explore research trends, dominant keywords, geographical contributions, and author and institutional impact. Data analysis conducted with RStudio, VOSviewer, and Excel identified four main clusters: skills development, educational approaches, utilization of STEM in various fields, and use of learning-based tools such as AR and VR. STEM and STEAM education effectively increased student engagement and built cross-disciplinary skills. However, challenges such as gaps in technology access and teacher training still need to be addressed. These results provide important insights for curriculum development, teacher professional training and education policies supporting technology-based learning transformation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil observasi terhadap kemampuan peserta didik yang masih keliru dan kurang tepat dalam memahami konsep, membedakan soal serta menentukan langkah penyelesaian pada materi barisan dan. Salah satu usaha yang dapat dilakukan untuk dapat melibatkan peserta didik secara aktif dalam pembelajaran adalah dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Pair Solo dan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Pair Checks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model pembelajaran yang unggul dari model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Pair Solo dan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Pair Checks pada materi barisan dan deret di kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Maluku Tenggara. Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Pair Solo membuat peserta didik terlibat secara langsung dalam proses pembelajaran sekaligus mendorong peserta didik dalam kelompok kemudian berpikir secara analisis mandiri, sedangkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Pair Checks merupakan suatu model yang mengkoordinir peserta didik untuk bekerja berpasangan dan menerapkan susunan pengecekan berpasangan. Tipe Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian Post Test Only Group Design. Populasinya adalah peserta didik kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Maluku Tenggara. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 36 peserta didik di kelas XI MIA-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Pair Solo dan kelas XI MIA-2 sebagai kelas eksperimen 2 yang diajarakan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Pair Checks. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t dua sampel independen didapat nilai Sig. (2-tailed) 0,373 lebih besar dari 0,05 sehingga tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua model. Selanjutnya, nilai Mean pada tabel Group Statistic model Team Pair Solo (X1) =67,39 dan model Pair Checks (X2) =70,25. Hasil ini menyatakan bahwa model pembelajaran yang lebih unggul adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Pair Checks

Abstract

This study aims to analyze prospective educators' views on philosophical existentialism in the context of education. Existentialism as a school of philosophy that emphasizes individual existence and freedom of choice is important to be understood by pre-service teachers’ in shaping a more humanist approach to learning. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study method supported by data collection through questionnaires to 50 pre-service teachers’. The results obtained reveal significant potential in the development of existentialism-based education through the perspective of prospective educators. A good understanding of the basic concepts, high readiness for implementation, and appreciation of existential values provide a strong foundation for a more humanist and meaningful educational transformation.
