Abstract

Photosynthesis is a vital process in the biological world which is the basis for the survival of plants. It is important to ensure that the learning methods used are able to provide students with a deep understanding and encourage the development of critical and creative thinking skills in accordance with the demands of the independent curriculum. Several methods offer learning approaches that focus on applying theoretical concepts in practical contexts, such as PJBL, PBL, STEM and Conventional methods. It is hoped that this research can contribute to improving the quality of high school biology learning by providing insight into the effectiveness of different learning methods. The research method used is a Quasi Experimental method with a Posttest Only Design type. The research sample was four high school XII science (IPA) classes using purposive sampling. The results of the hypothesis test show that the Sig. less than 0.05, so it rejects Ho and accepts H1, that there are differences in learning outcomes using PJBL, PBL, STEM and conventional methods. Based on the mean rank, it was found that the STEM method was better than the PJBL, PBL and conventional methods.

Abstract

Laboratory activities are essential in improving the understanding of learning outcomes and supporting the process of forming students' knowledge about biological material, especially the concept of carbohydrate digestion. It is necessary to laboratory activities design (LAD) that can support forming student knowledge in laboratory activities to investigate carbohydrate foods. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method applied through ANCOR (Analyse, Try, Reconstruct) steps to develop LAD that supports students' knowledge formation process. The ANCOR stages include analysing the sample LAD, conducting trials, and reconstructing it into a new LAD per the Ministry of Education and Culture's learning outcomes. The LAD reconstruction aims to strengthen students' understanding of carbohydrate digestion through laboratory activities emphasizing exploration, direct observation, and active involvement of students in the learning process. It is expected that the use of LAD that has been adjusted will make a significant contribution to improving student learning outcomes in biology materials, improving the learning process in the laboratory, and increasing their understanding of the concept of organ structure and function in the carbohydrate digestive system.Abstrak. Kegiatan laboratorium memegang peranan penting dalam meningkatkan pemahaman, hasil belajar, dan mendukung proses pembentukan pengetahuan siswa. siswa tentang materi biologi, khususnya konsep pencernaan karbohidrat. Perlu Desain Kegiatan Laboratorium (DKL) yang dapat mendukung proses pembentukan pengetahuan siswa pada kegiatan labororatorium menyelidiki makanan berkarbohidrat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang diterapkan melalui langkah-langkah ANCOR (Analisis, Coba, Rekonstruksi) untuk mengembangkan DKL yang mendukung proses pembentukan pengetahuan siswa. Tahapan ANCOR tersebut meliputi analisis DKL sampel, melakukan uji coba, dan merekonstruksi menjadi DKL yang baru yang sesuai dengan capaian pembelajaran Kemendikbud. Rekonstruksi DKL bertujuan untuk memperkuat pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep pencernaan karbohidrat melalui kegiatan laboratorium yang menekankan eksplorasi, pengamatan langsung, dan keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Diharapkan penggunaan DKL yang telah disesuaikan akan memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam materi biologi, memperbaiki proses pembelajaran di laboratorium, serta meningkatkan pemahaman mereka tentang konsep struktur organ dan fungsinya pada sistem pencernaan karbohidrat.

Abstract

Misconceptions in biology can prevent students from gaining a deeper understanding of biological concepts. There is a five-tier diagnostic test that can explore the misconceptions experienced by students. This research aims to develop a five-tier diagnostic test that is feasible to use to identify student misconceptions with Rasch model analysis. The research method used was quantitative descriptive, and the sample was 103 people with a purposive sampling technique, which is a purposeful sampling technique, namely, the school that is the research location, experiencing misconceptions related to the concept of cells. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the five-tier diagnostic test developed was very feasible to use as an instrument to identify students' misconceptions on the concept of cells. Each indicator is represented by several items that have been tested for validity, reliability, difficulty level and differentiation using Rasch model analysis with the help of the Winsteps program. Based on the analysis with the Rasch model, out of 36 items that were externally validated, 23 items were obtained that met the eligibility criteria and were declared valid for implementation.

Abstract

Biology learning is abstract, universal, monotonous, and less relevant to everyday life, thus causing the learning process to become less meaningful. Meaningful learning is integrating learning to facts in everyday life and learns the meaning of science for life. In line with the demands of an independent curriculum, which expects a learning process that is contextual and touches on and answers local problems from the surrounding area, The solution that can answer this problem is a locally-based learning approach that is integrated into biology lessons. The purpose of this article is to examine the local wisdom of Naniura-Sashimi Batak in biology learning. The research method used is a literature study by reviewing national and international journals related to the Local Wisdom of Naniura-Sashimi Batak and its relationship to biology lessons. Integrate into learning by mapping community science and scientific science as well as relationships in biological material. abstrak. Pembelajaran biologi bersifat abstrak, universal, monoton, dan kurang relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, sehingga menyebabkan proses pembelajaran menjadi kurang bermakna. Pembelajaran yang bermakna adalah mengintegrasikan pembelajaran dengan fakta-fakta dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan mempelajari makna ilmu pengetahuan untuk kehidupan. Sejalan dengan tuntutan kurikulum mandiri, yang mengharapkan proses pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan menyentuh serta menjawab masalah-masalah lokal dari sekitar, Solusi yang dapat menjawab masalah ini adalah pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis lokal yang terintegrasi ke dalam pelajaran biologi. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk mengkaji kearifan lokal Naniura-Sashimi Batak dalam pembelajaran biologi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan meninjau jurnal-jurnal nasional dan internasional yang terkait dengan Kearifan Lokal Naniura-Sashimi Batak dan hubungannya dengan pelajaran biologi. Terintegrasi dalam pembelajaran dengan memetakan ilmu komunitas dan ilmu sains serta hubungannya dalam materi biologi.
