Abstract

An investigation on the effect of repeated infection of Helicoverpa armigera Nuclear Polyhedrosis Virus (HaNPV) to Helicoverpa armigera to know its effect on Helicoverpa armigera tolerance had been carried out. On treatment with 800 (Polyhedral Inclusion Body/dose) PIB/dose indicated that the exposure of HaNPV to H. armigera larva showed no difference significantly (P> 0.05) on its LD50 to every generation exposed. In contrast, H. armigera which had been exposed by HaNPV had a higher food consumption and larval growth rate compared to H. armigera without treatment. This investigation also showed that the increasing food consumption and larvae growth rate of H. armigera was in line with the increase of HaNPV exposure. Infection of HaNPV caused a development of tolerance mechanism in H. armigera.

Abstract

The importance of fungal attack to acarina has been observed but not yet on Tetranychus kanzawai. When infected mite, either within in a same  species or even in a different  species of  entomopathigenic probably  have  similar signs and simptoms to mites.  Characteristic of entomopathogenic fungus to Tetranychus kanza-wai was investigated. Three selected isolates of Metarhizium anisopliae, from Philippines and Indonesia were evaluated. The following aspects were investigated: (1) Bioassay tes of virulence, (2) Koch Postulate and (3) Infection process on each fungus against mite. Virulence of  Metarhizium anisopliae was 1.4 X 103, 7.2 X 102 , 5 X 102  PIB per ml on Ma4, Ma5 and Ma6, respectively. On Koch Postulates, Reinoculation and reisolation of all seven isolates from infected T. kanzawai showed definite signs of infection. This demonstrated its entomopathogenic capacity. In this experiment, adult mites were sprayed with 108 per ml concentrations of conidia observed under light microscope and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The result found  T. kanzawai was very susceptible to three isolates M. anisopliae. In the end of the trials, fungal growth was detectable as early as 2 until 4 days of observation. Infection process with microphoto-graph and Scanning Electro Microscopy showed attachment, germination and penetration, extrusion and conidiogenesis fungal form.   Keywords: Infection, Tetranychus kanzawai, Metarhizium anisopliae, Light micros-copy, Scanning Electro Microscopy (SEM)

Abstract

In agriculture environment needed a support the crop to increase product and  environment support to  improvement of a product which  done holisticly. The methode used by survey to farm area in Semudang and rear it at lab and also observe the yhe prey behaviour. The result show that the predator (Rhinocoris fuscipes F.) is needed H. armigera as. a prey abouat 5  or more for each day. The Rhinocoris fuscipes F.  Rhinocoris fuscipes F. has an active behaviour to prey H. armigera.

Abstract

Fungi has been tested as one of the potential control agents for insect pests, which raises hopes for developing fungi as good biopesticides. The high variation within fungi species made taxonomic identification procedures more complex, thus molecular identification techniques are needed in addition to traditional morphological characteristics currently used as primary methods to classify fungi species. The objective of this research was to identify the species of the most pathogenic fungi to Tetranychus kanzawai Kishida using RAPD-PCR.  The internal transcribed spacer of 5.8s rDNA (ITS-5.8s rDNA) sequence of these fungal isolates were amplified using two sets of universal primers for ITS and then analyzed. Molecular identification showed that these  isolates had a higher  of similarity to Metarhizium anisopliae than Metarhizium flavoviride.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the increase in students' mastery of the endocrine system material and learning motivation after using learning media in the form of pop up books by demonstration methode because this learning is carried out in the midst of a pandemic that requires students to learn from home. The method that used in this research was experimental research using quasi-experimental research involving two classes, each consisting of 36 students of class XI Science. Determination of the sample was done by using purposive sampling technique. The instrument in this study consisted of tests containing a matter of mastery of the concept of multiple choice forms, and nontest namely the ARCS learning motivation questionnaire and student response questionnaire. Analysis of research results using statistical tests with the help of SPSS to see differences in the results of the initial test and final test, and N-gain to see an increase in mastery of concepts. The results showed that the initial and final test scores had significant differences (⍺ = 0.05). Reinforcement of concepts in the experimental class increases with the high category (g = 0.806), while the control class increases in the moderate category (g = 0.656). ARCS (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction) are in the high category. Meanwhile, questionnaire analysis showed higher student responses to learning.

Abstract

Pada saat ini telah dikembangkan sifat kompatibilitas antara dua virus entomopatogen yaitu NPV dan CV untuk mengendalikan S.litura Kinerja Baculovirus terpusat pada inti sel, dapat ditingkatkan dengan CV yang bekerja pada sitoplasma diperkirakan bahwa kedua jenis virus entomopathogen ini akan kompatibel; sifat kompatibilitasnya belum diteliti secara cermat. Sifat kompatibilitas ini penting untuk dikembangkan sehubungan dengan kemampuan sifat autodisseminasi BV di dalam suatu ekosistem. 2. Perlakuan yang diberikan a) Baculovirus MNPV, b) MNPV plus CV, c)B. thuringiensis stain baru (USA) d) Kontrol. Dari hasil pengmatan tersebut nampak bahwa MNPV + CV berpotensi untuk mengendalikan S. litura karena hasil yang diperoleh lebih tinggi jika dibandingkan dengan MNPV sendiri. . Hal ini diduga disebabkan adanya mekaniseme sinergisme antara NPV dan CV. Pada inti sel dapat distimuli dengan daya kerja CV yang mampu membentuk polyhedra pada bagian sitoplasma sel-sel epithellium jaringan ‘mid gut’ ulat.

Abstract

Suatu studi mengenai biodiversitas serangga berguna pada komunitas sayuran telah dilakukan pada jenis tanaman Cucurbitaceae, Allium cepa, Cabai Merah di sentra produksi di Jawa Barat dan Brebes-Jawa Tengah. Biodiversitas dan serangga pengendali hayati pada tanaman sayuran sangat langka, status hama Liriomyza huidobrensis dan 'white fly' yang ternyata menjadi petaka besar dapat menjadi pelajaran baik bagi keterlibatan para pakar hama terhadap masalah ini. Studi berikut dilakukan untuk tujuan 1).memperoleh suatu keluaran informasi mutakhir mengenai keanekaragaman hayati pada komunitas sayuran yang belum terdeteksi dan 2).melakukan suatu perbandingan keanekaragaman hayati serangga berguna pada komunitas sayuran yang tercemar pestisida dengan komunitas yang kurang tercemar pestisida, sejalan dengan sistem pertanian berkelanjutan yang harus direalisasikan. Studi biodiversiti pada cakupan 4 tahun secara terpisah dan dilakukan pada beberapa komunitas Cucurbitaceae, Allium cepa, Cabai Merah dan Kentang, dan kubis tanpa insektisida mampu mendedahkan biodiversiti yang sangat berbeda. Indeks keanekaragaman hayati menurut Shannons meingkat dari1.3374 menjadi 3.3335 pada komunitas yang tidak disemprot insektisida. Pada komunitas tercemar insektisida terdapat beberapa variasi indeks biodiversiti yang rendah bagi musuh alami, demikian pula indeks predominansi menurut Simpsons serta indeks kesamaan menjadi sangat berkurang. Pada komunitas sayuran tanpa insektisida stabilitas musuh alami menjadi lebih sinambung. Abstract

Isolasi feromon sex dari lalat hijau (Lucilia sericata) telah dilaksanakan untuk diteliti pengaruhnya terhadap pengurangan populasinya. Feromon sex diperoleh dengan cara memotong ujung abdominal lalat hijau kemudian diuji dengan menggunakan olfactometer. Parameter yang diamati adalah perilaku lalat hijau dan daya tarik terhadap feromon sex. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa waktu yang tepat untuk panggilan adalah jam 10.00 pagi dan dapat menarik lalat hijau 56%.Kata kunci : Myiasis, waktu panggilan, ekstrak kelenjar seks feromon, olfacto meter, Lucilia sericata

Abstract

The low ability of students to solve problems is in line with the low mastery of science concepts. In this study, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) integrated Project Oriented Problem Based Learning (POPBL) learning models were implemented to improve the mastery of science concepts of junior high school students, especially on the topic of Environmental Pollution. The method used was a mixed-method. The STEM integrated STB learning model design framework consists of 3 stages: Onset Stage, Execution Stage, and Closure Stage. The concept of students is emphasized at the onset stage in the case study dissemination phase. In this phase, students analyze problems based on articles provided by the teacher. The more understanding the material, the more critical students will explore existing issues and find logical solutions to those problems. The results showed that there was a difference between the average pretest and posttest learning outcomes (t=-5,660; df = 53; Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000). This indicates an increase in junior high school students' science concepts mastery after using the STEM integrated POPBL Learning Model. Improving students' mastery of concepts using a STEM integrated POPBL learning model is still in the low category with n-gain = 0.17. Although still in the low category, the POPBL learning model with the STEM approach can be optimized to improve students' mastery of concepts and skills on other science topics.
