The mortality of hypertensive pregnant women was a complication of obstetrics or pregnancy. It was caused by several factors such as low health services and economic status. This study was purposed to analyze the relationship between the mortality of hypertensive pregnant women and its factors. In addition, this study evaluated the mortality of pregnant women in 38 districts/cities in East Java. The Pearson correlation test was used in this study to analyze the secondary data from 2019-2021 East Java Health Profile and Central Bureau of Statistics report. Furthermore, data processing analysis was conducted by using the Health Mapper and SPSS applications. It was found that there was a relationship between the coverage of solving obstetric complications and the mortality of hypertensive pregnant women in 2021 (p<0.001), there was a relationship between the coverage of health services for pregnant women (K4) and the mortality of hypertensive pregnant women in 2021 (p<0.001), and there was a relationship between the number of poor people with hypertensive maternal deaths in 2021 (p<0.001). Besides, the coverage of obstetric complications solving, coverage of health services for pregnant women (K4), and number of poor people were related to the mortality of hypertensive pregnant women. There was a need for an intervention program of activities which must be carried out by paying more attention to the health of pregnant women, especially for people with hypertension.

Background: One of the dangers of midwifery or pregnancy is the mortality of pregnant women with hypertension. By managing midwifery difficulties and health services for pregnant women, efforts may be made to prevent and manage the mortality of pregnant women with hypertension (K4). The management of midwifery difficulties and prenatal care services (K4) reduced in East Java Province in 2021. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to map out the disease's spread and explain how maternal mortality is related to hypertension and its causes. Results: There was a relationship between maternal mortality with hypertension in 2021 and the coverage of midwifery complications (p = 0.000), as well as between the coverage of prenatal care services (K4) and the death of pregnant women with hypertension in 2021 (p = 0.000). Conclusion: The treatment of midwifery problems and the availability of prenatal care services (K4) were factors in the deaths of pregnant women with hypertension. Abstract

Background: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV2, first detected in China in 2019. This disease causes respiratory infections and significantly impacts global health. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the risk factors for mortality in COVID-19 patients at Universitas Airlangga Hospital in 2021. Methods: This observational analytical study uses a case-control design, including 168 samples with 64 cases and 64 controls. Secondary data from patient medical records at Universitas Airlangga Hospital, including age, gender, education, comorbidities, oxygen saturation, and length of stay. Chi-square tests analyzed the data with a 95% confidence level (α=5%). Results: The analysis revealed significant associations between COVID-19 mortality and several factors. Age (p=0.01; OR=3.24; 95%CI=1.57-6.65), gender (p=0.01; OR=2.2; 95%CI=1.17-4.02), education (p=0.00; OR=2.40; 95%CI=1.11-5.40), comorbidities (p=0.08; OR=2.50; 95%CI=1.26-4.91), and oxygen saturation (p=0.00; OR=5.40; 95%CI=117.10-2490.06) were significantly associated with COVID-19 mortality. Oxygen saturation was the most influential factor (p=0.00; OR=901.73; 95%CI=120.75-6733.48) associated with mortality. Conclusion: Age, gender, education, comorbidities, and oxygen saturation significantly affect Covid-19 mortality rates. This study highlights the importance of monitoring and managing these risk factors in managing COVID-19 at Universitas Airlangga Hospital.
