Abstract

The purpose of this study aims to analyze the influence of technology, capital, and labor on production in woodcarving handicraft SMEs in Gianyar Regency. To analyze the effect of technology, capital, labor, and production on the income of MSMEs in woodcarving crafts in Gianyar Regency. To analyze the indirect effect of technology, capital, and labor on income through production in woodcarving MSMEs in the approach used in this study is an associative quantitative approach. This research was conducted in Gianyar Regency with an analytical technique, namely path analysis. The results of this study are that technology and labor have a direct positive but not significant effect on the production of MSME woodcarving crafts in Gianyar Regency, while capital has a direct positive and significant effect on the production of MSME woodcarving crafts in Gianyar Regency. Technology directly has a positive but not significant effect on income, labor directly has a negative but not significant effect on income while capital and production have a direct positive and significant effect on the income of MSMEs in woodcarving crafts in Gianyar Regency. Technology, capital, and labor do not have a significant effect on income indirectly through the production of woodcarving handicraft SMEs in Gianyar Regency.

Abstract

Economic inequality remains one of the major challenges faced by various regions, including Bali Province. This study aims to analyze the effects of GRDP per capita, investment, LFPR, minimum wage, tourist arrivals, and region on economic inequality in Bali Province, as well as to examine differences in economic inequality between the Sarbagita and non-Sarbagita regions. This research applies a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The study uses panel data regression combining cross-sectional and time-series data from nine regencies/cities in Bali Province during the period 2011–2024. The analytical method employed is panel data using the Random Effect Model (REM). The findings indicate that, simultaneously, GRDP per capita, investment, LFPR, minimum wage, tourist arrivals, and region significantly affect economic inequality in Bali Province. Partially, minimum wage and Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) have a negative and significant effect on economic inequality, while GRDP per capita, investment, and region have positive but insignificant effects. Number of tourist visits have a negative and insignificant effect on economic inequality. The implication of this study highlights the importance of more equitable investment distribution, expanded employment opportunities, improved human resource quality, and proportionate minimum wage policies in reducing economic inequality.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) terhadap Tingkat Pengangguran Terbuka (TPT) di Provinsi Bali. Namun, penelitian mengenai efektivitas KUR dalam menurunkan pengangguran dengan mempertimbangkan dinamika sebelum, selama, dan setelah pandemi Covid-19 masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh dinamis KUR satu tahun sebelumnya, pertumbuhan ekonomi, partisipasi angkatan kerja, pendidikan, pandemi COVID-19, dan periode pasca pandemi terhadap pengangguran. Data sekunder dari sembilan kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Bali selama periode 2017–2024 dianalisis menggunakan regresi data panel dengan Common Effect Model. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa KUR satu tahun sebelumnya berpengaruh negatif tetapi tidak signifikan terhadap TPT. Pertumbuhan ekonomi satu tahun sebelumnya dan Tingkat Partisipasi Angkatan Kerja berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan, sedangkan Rata-rata Lama Sekolah tidak berpengaruh signifikan. Pandemi COVID-19 dan periode pasca pandemi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pengangguran. Variabel interaksi menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas KUR tidak berubah signifikan selama pandemi maupun pasca pandemi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pengangguran di Bali lebih dipengaruhi oleh kondisi makroekonomi dan dinamika pasar tenaga kerja daripada ekspansi kredit semata. Kebijakan pengurangan pengangguran perlu didukung oleh pertumbuhan ekonomi yang inklusif dan diversifikasi ekonomi di luar pariwisata.This study examines the effect of Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) on the Open Unemployment Rate in Bali Province. However, empirical studies examining the effectiveness of KUR in reducing unemployment across the pre-pandemic, pandemic, and post-pandemic periods remain limited. The study aims to analyze the dynamic effect of lagged KUR, economic growth, labor force participation, education, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the post-pandemic period on unemployment. Secondary data from nine regencies/cities in Bali during 2017–2024 were analyzed using panel data regression with the Common Effect Model. The results show that lagged KUR has a negative but statistically insignificant effect on the Open Unemployment Rate. Lagged economic growth and labor force participation significantly reduce unemployment, while average years of schooling has no significant effect. The COVID-19 pandemic and the post-pandemic period significantly increase unemployment. The interaction terms indicate that the effectiveness of KUR does not change significantly during the pandemic or post-pandemic periods. These findings suggest that unemployment in Bali is driven more by macroeconomic conditions and labor market dynamics than by credit expansion alone. Policies to reduce unemployment should strengthen inclusive economic growth and economic diversification beyond tourism.
