Abstract

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for 2021, the number of couples of childbearing age (PUS) in Denpasar City ranks third with a total of 81,575. In Denpasar City, the number of active family planning (FP) participants is 63,024, while those not using contraception number 10,730, and new FP participants amount to 7,840. Choosing contraception is not an easy task for healthcare providers or related agencies, as the decision must align with the individual needs of each person. In North Denpasar, there are 21,545 PUS, with 15,854 active FP participants and 5,691 not using contraception. The relatively low number of active FP participants in Denpasar City indicates a lack of understanding of the importance of contraception within families. The main issue in Denpasar City regarding the family planning program is the insufficient use of contraceptives, as evidenced by many families having more than two children, some even reaching five. This study aims to analyse the factors affecting contraceptive use in North Denpasar. Data analysis was performed using path analysis with SPSS software. The results indicate that: 1) education level negatively affects contraceptive use in North Denpasar; 2) income level and patriarchal culture positively affect contraceptive use in North Denpasar. This implies that higher income and stronger patriarchal culture are associated with higher contraceptive use in North Denpasar; 3) education level and income negatively but not significantly affect fertility in North Denpasar, suggesting that these factors do not have a significant impact on fertility; 4) patriarchal culture and contraceptive use positively but not significantly affect fertility in North Denpasar, indicating that these factors also do not significantly impact fertility.

Abstract

In 2020 the government implemented a full electricity subsidy policy for customers with 450 VA and 900 VA power capacity across Indonesia. This policy was introduced to assist underprivileged communities in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. Badung Regency is one of the regions in Indonesia with rapidly increasing electricity consumption. This study examines the relationship between household electricity subsidies and household electricity consumption, household income, and power capacity, while also investigating the occurrence of moral hazard among household customers in Badung Regency. The research employs a quantitative approach using primary data. Data was collected from a sample of 100 households. The study utilizes logistic regression analysis techniques. The results show that subsidies, household income, and power capacity have a positive and significant impact on electricity consumption, and there is a 24% occurrence of moral hazard among household customers in Badung Regency. The government should evaluate the implementation of electricity subsidy policies to assess their effectiveness and reduce the potential for moral hazard.

Abstract

Waste management has become a critical issue in efforts to create a clean and sustainable environment, particularly in Klungkung Regency, which has seen a significant increase in waste generation following the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the local government’s initiatives to address this issue is the establishment of waste banks, including the Lestari Waste Bank in Besang Village. This study aims to analyze the influence of community participation, sustainable economic literacy, and environmental policy on the performance of the waste bank. The research was conducted in Besang Village, covering three sub-village areas: Besang Kawan, Besang Tengah, and Besang Kangin, with a total of 182 waste bank customers as respondents. A quantitative approach was employed using multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that community participation significantly contributes to improving the effectiveness of the waste bank program. Furthermore, community understanding of sustainable economic principles influences individual mindsets and waste-sorting behavior. In addition, environmental policies implemented by the local government strengthen the institutional capacity of waste banks to manage waste systematically and sustainably. Therefore, the collaboration between community involvement, economic understanding, and policy support is key to the success of waste banks as a community-based waste management solution.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) revenues are affected by various factors that determine business continuity and the welfare of their owners. This study aims to analyze, both simultaneously and partially, the effects of e-commerce usage, business experience, and industrial agglomeration on the revenues of fashion-sector MSMEs in Denpasar City. A total of 100 fashion MSME operators were sampled, and the data were analyzed via multiple linear regression using SPSS 26. The resulting coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.684, indicating that e-commerce usage (X₁), business experience (X₂), and industrial agglomeration (X₃) collectively explain 68.4% of the variance in MSME revenue (Y), with the remaining 31.6% attributable to factors beyond this study. The analysis shows that, together, the three independent variables significantly affect MSME revenues; separately, each—e-commerce usage, business experience, and industrial agglomeration—exerts a positive and significant impact on the revenues of fashion-sector MSMEs in Denpasar.

Abstract

In recent years, both global and domestic economic uncertainties have increasingly influenced the movement of Indonesia’s JCI and GDP. This study aims to examine how various factors including news sentiment, exchange rates, and interest rates affect the JCI as a proxy for economic growth expectations, and GDP as a reflection of actual economic growth. Using quarterly data from 2016 to 2024, the analysis is conducted through the Auto Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to identify both short-term and long-term effects. The results show that these variables collectively have a significant impact on both the JCI and GDP. In the short term, the JCI is found to respond more quickly to changes in information and policy, reinforcing its role as a leading indicator. In contrast, GDP responds more slowly, with exchange rates and the BI interest rate showing a significant influence in the long term. These findings highlight that economic information and policies may affect the financial market and the real economy differently, underscoring the importance of understanding expectation dynamics in assessing the direction of Indonesia’s economic growth.
