Abstract

The aim of the present research was to evaluate the contribution effect of calcium derived from Azolla microphylla and different mineral sources on egg shell in Arab hen. Ninety six birds of Arab hen, age was + 16 weeks, with an average body weight of 814,73 g ± 46,86 g were used as experimental animals, and were divided randomly into a randomized block design with 6 treatments and 4 replications. Feedstuffs used for dietary treatments were rice bran, yellow corn, poultry meat meal, Azolla microphylla, CaCO3, Ca2HPO4, oyster shell, palm oil, and top mix. The rations were formulated approximately iso metabolizable energy and iso protein of 3100 kkal/kg and 17% respectively. Inclusion levels of Azolla microphylla 6% in the ration were categorized as treatments, namely, Azolla microphylla 6% without different mineral source (T1); Azolla microphylla 6% and 3% CaCO3 and 6% oyster shell (T2); Azolla microphylla 6% and 3% Ca2PO4 and 6% oyster shell (T3). Conclusion of the research is that calcium retentions are not inhibited by the Azolla microphylla, moreover it can increase calcium deposited in egg shell. Keywords: Arabian chicken, eggshell, Azolla micophylla, mineral

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the yellow corn micronizing technique on the feed ration and shelf life of chicken eggs on the quality of egg contents. This research was conducted from May to June 2021 at the laying hens' farm in Sidorejo Village, Musuk District, Boyolali Regency. The research material was 54 laying hens aged 21 weeks. In this study, milled corn was used as feed ingredients with micronizing, concentrate, and bran techniques. The equipment used is in the form of a semi-open house battery cage with 54 bulkheads, as well as a place to feed and drink. Each bulkhead contained one laying hen and was divided into three treatments with each treatment consisting of 18 laying hens Isa brown leghorn. The refining tool used for yellow corn rations is a milling machine with a temperature of 140-180oC. Corn is ground into 3 (three) levels of corn particles, namely fine grain, medium grain, and coarse grain. All research data were analyzed using the variance procedure. If there is a significant difference (P < 0.05), it is continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test at the 5% level. The results showed that there was a significant effect on all parameters, namely egg white index, egg yolk index, Haugh index, ration consumption, and egg weight. The provision of corn with different forms gave a significant effect on each parameter of observation at different storage periods. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of the yellow corn micronizing technique on the ration on the consumption of the ration. The yellow corn micronizing technique and the shelf life of eggs also affect the quality of the egg contents

Abstract

Abstract

The male chicken is the result of laying hens that are male, therefore it is called a male. Broilers are usually harvested when they are two or three months old. In terms of structure, roosters are usually smaller than other types of chickens and have a pure white color. Laying hens of the male type are a by-product of the production of breeding and hatching of laying hens. Laying cocks are considered to have the ability to produce meat. The lighting program is one that is very influential in achieving peak production in relation to uniformity of sexual maturity. The purpose of feeding in the grower phase is to encourage or stimulate the chickens to grow faster, not just grow. So that the development of hereditary organs becomes optimal and supports further sustainable growth.
