Abstract

Stroke patients who experience hemiparese who do not receive proper treatment can cause complications of functional disorders, impaired mobilization, disruption of daily activities and incurable disabilities. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of passive Range Of Motion (ROM) exercise on increasing the range of motion of stroke patients in the Neurology Room at RSUD M.Natsir.This research design is quasi experimental with the design used is one group pretest - postest design. In this study, passive Range Of Motion (ROM) was performed on the upper extremities of stroke patients for five days, twice a day.The number of respondents in 30 stroke patients who experienced hemiparese,The data was collected by direct measurement using a measuring instrument for the degree of motion of the joints, namely the goniometer, and data analysis was carried out using the t dependent test (normally distributed data). The results showed a significant difference in the range of motion of the upper limb joints before and after passive ROM exercises. The conclusion that ROM exercises affect the range of motion of the upper limb joints in stroke patients.Passive ROM can be an alternative to increase the range of motion of the joints in the upper and lower extremities in stroke patients.

The highest number of schizophrenic patients with hallucinations was 83 people in the Merpati Room of Prof. HB Sa'anin Hospital in Padang. Therapy is usually given in the management of overcoming hallucinations, one of which is Group Activity Therapy (GAT). The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Perception Stimulation Group Activity Therapy on the Ability to Control Hallucinations in Schizophrenia Patients at Prof Sa'anin Hospital Padang in 2019. This study uses a Quasi Experiment research design using one group pre-post-test. The population is schizophrenia patients with hallucinations in Prof Sa'anin Hospital in Padang, about 206 persons. Sampling is done by Samples taken were 50 persons, with purposive sampling. The analysis is t-dependent. The results showed a significant difference between the ability of patients between before and after Perception Stimulation Group Activity Therapy with a P-value = 0.000 or α <0.05. It is expected that Prof. Sa'anin Padang's nurses will be more optimal in the implementation of GAT, and improve the implementation of quality GAT according to the grouping of nursing diagnoses so that the ability of schizophrenic patients with hallucinations can be achieved Keywords: schizophrenia, hallucinations, group activity therapy

Abstract

The prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM) in Indonesia has increased significantly. Diabetes mellitus is a non-communicable disease reported to be suffered by some Covid-19 patients. DM patient non-compliance in implementing the five pillars results in an increased risk of complications, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to determine the adherence of type II DM patients in the management of the five pillars of DM. This study used a descriptive analytic cross sectional approach. The sampling technique was total sampling, namely type II DM sufferers who visited Posbindu in the work area of the Solok City Health Center in the last 3 months involving 65 people, the instrument used was a questionnaire with diet variables, taking medication, doing physical activity, education and controlling blood sugar. The results showed that medication adherence, diet, education and blood sugar control had a significant relationship with blood sugar levels with a p value of less than 0.05. It turned out that what was most dominantly related to blood sugar levels was the regularity of taking medication with (p value 0,002) OR= 72,500. This non-compliance is because the client perceives that blood sugar that is not normal means that he has recovered from DM. It is hoped that diabetes mellitus clients can understand the importance of implementing DM management. There is a policy from the Health Service involving family members to care for, so that the five pillars of management of DM can be implemented properly, so that DM patients can live a life without complications.
