Abstract

"We provide information to produce knowledge" sudah menjadi slogan perpustakaan USD. Sebagaimana kebanyakan slogan, kata-kata tersebut diharapkan mampu memberikan "roh" pada unit tersebut. Akan tetapi, seperti halnya kebanyakan slogan dalam bahasa Inggris yang berkembang di Indonesia saat ini, terlihat adanya pemaknaan kata yang kurang mendapat perhatian, yang kemungkinan disebabkan karena terjemahan langsung kata information, dan knowledge dari bahasa Inggris ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Apa sebenarnya knowledge itu? Benarkah bahwa knowledge merupakan suatu hal yang bisa di produce?

Abstract

Indonesia has a lot of cultural diversity, one of which is the diversity of traditional dances. One of the traditional dances is the Hudoq dance from East Kalimantan province, which is usually performed to commemorate traditional ceremonies during the period of clearing land for farming. The Pancasila Student Profile is character building according to the values of Pancasila in the Merdeka Curriculum which has six indicators, namely noble character, global diversity, mutual cooperation, critical reasoning, independence, and creativity. The purpose of this study is to describe the positive impact of Hudoq culture on the characters in the Pancasila Student Profile, especially creative characters in students. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research with subjects that have been determined by researchers, namely children in Long Melaham village, Mahakam Ulu, East Kalimantan province. The results of this study are that through the Hudoq culture students become more creative, this is in accordance with one of the characters in the Pancasila Student Profile, these results can be seen when students make clothes and attributes used for dancing and perform dramas in a hunting atmosphere in front of the community

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi pendidikan di daerah 3T. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dan dilaksanakan di SD Santo Yosef Sioban Mentawai pada Agustus sampai November 2023. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yakni pendidik, orang tua peserta didik dan peserta didik kelas 5 SD Santo Yosef Sioban Mentawai. Sedangkan objek dalam penelitian ini yakni persepsi pendidikan di daerah 3T. Keabsahan data diperiksa menggunakan triangulasi. Dalam menganalisis data menggunakan analisis secara kualitatif Miles & Huberman yakni mengumpulkan suatu data, reduksi suatu data, menyajikan suatu data dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil atau kesimpulannya yakni persepsi pendidikan di daerah 3T memberikan dampak yang positif terhadap perkembangan peserta didik. Hal ini dibuktikan dari: 1) kreativitas pendidik dalam mengajar, 2) kerjasama orang tua peserta didik untuk perkembangan anak-anak mereka, dan3) minat peserta didik dalam belajar untuk menggapai cita-cita.

Abstract

In the implementation of the International Primary Curriculum, elementary schools provide collaborative spaces for students to contribute positively to others and the environment. This research aims to examine the implementation of the International Primary Curriculum at SD Cahaya Bangsa Utama Yogyakarta. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed in this study. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that: 1) teachers develop the social responsibility character based on the guidelines from the Unit of Work, which contains PjBL (Project Based Learning) activities, 2) teachers design activities to develop social responsibility character by incorporating three elements (psychological safety, empathy, and public speaking), 3) the tendency of students to dominate poses a challenge in efforts to cultivate social responsibility.

Abstract

Children aged 0-6 years, the golden age, are in a critical period that establishes the foundation for their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. Early childhood character education plays a significant role in shaping social skills and moral values that will influence children’s future behavior. This study aims to develop a storybook based on character values to improve social skills for kindergarten children, specifically at TK Cahaya Bangsa Utama (Kinderstation), which emphasizes eight personal goals: resilience, communication, collaboration, respect, critical thinking, empathy, adaptability, and ethics. Implementing Researchand Development (R&D) approach which covers a 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) a storybook was developed to fill the needs of children to Findings indicated the storybook developed was effective in helping children comprehend moral and social values, as well as in building communication skills and empathy. The book was beneficial not only as a reading material but also as a tool for in-depth discussions within school and family contexts. The implementation of character-based storybooks was expected to contribute positively to the personality and social skill development of kindergarten children, supporting them to become individuals who are not only of good character but also active contributors to society.
