Menurut Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan (BSNP, 2007) secara keseluruhan skor yang diperoleh siswa untuk lulus uji kompetensi minimal 6,0. Penelitian ini adalah deskriptif eksploratif obyek penelitian UKT Teknik Perkayuan 2014, Jumlah responden sebanyak 949 siswa. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis: (a) unidimensi; (b) independensi lokal; dan (c) invarians. Parameter a dari 40 butir soal terdapat 22 butir soal memiliki kemampuan membedakan peserta tinggi kemampuannya dengan yang rendah, 18 soal kurang baik dianggap memiliki daya beda terlalu tinggi dan tidak dapat melakukan fungsi ukurnya sebagai pembeda yang baik, solusinya 18 soal tersebut diganti atau dibuang untuk memperoleh daya pembeda bernilai positif.
