Abstract

An earlier study on the determinants of inventories investment has been proposed by Lovel (1961). However, the study fails to mention the effects of financial variables. The puzzle prevails on account of imperfect capital markets. This implies that interest rate generally affects inventory investment indirectly through the debt channel. For instance, in the period of tight monetary policy, increasing interest rates have a negative impact on the present value of firms’ collateralizable net worth. In addition, they also weaken firms’ balance sheets as interest expenses also rise up. In imperfect capital markets, this fact indicates an increase in the amount of external financing that firms need, a rise in the premium on external financing that they face, and a reduction in their accumulation of assets, their spending and their production. Given the low adjustment cost that characterizes firms, it will be inventories that firms will initially reduce. Therefore, this paper is contributes to the issue of monetary policy transmission in Malaysia. Our specific attention is limited to the channel of monetary policy on a firm’s inventory. Using micro data, we try to take into account the relevance of the firm’s balance sheet conditions in the transmission of monetary policy.

Abstract

This study analyses the direct relationship of determinantsâ??both intrinsic and extrinsic factorsâ??affecting the selection of Musyārakat Mutanāqiá¹£at (MM) house financing products. Intrinsic factors include factors of confidence in sharia compliance value and factors regarding the knowledge level of potential customers. Extrinsic factors include MM product characteristics such as service quality, costs, product benefits and promotions. MM products are emphasised in this study because of their many benefits, including lowering the burden of customersâ?? monthly payloads, a relatively shorter monthly payment period and increased benefits and profits for both banks and customers. Data were collected from 100 MM customers in Malaysia via the Internet (Facebook) and analysed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-SMART PLS) and the Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The findings show that only the factors of promotion and religious compliance are significant when selecting MM products; in fact, the influence of promotional factors had a greater impact than the influence of religious compliance. Therefore, Islamic banks are urged to increase their promotional strategies in order to provide information about the role of religious law in selecting Islamic banking products, thus helping customers choose MM products that satisfy their needs while also meeting religious demands.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe development of higher education in Malaysia is multiplying based on the increasing numbers of Public Higher Learning Institutions (IPTA) and Private Higher Learning Institutions (IPTS). This increase has encouraged various parties to collaborate to create a solid foundation and strategy to create IPT to become more competitive. However, the funding factor is still one restraint that IPTs must face. To overcome this problem, one example of IPT is taking the initiative by implementing waqf for higher education in limited institutions. Based on this scenario, the present paper was written to achieve two objectives:The first isto examine the precise development of higher education waqf that has been implemented in IPT in Malaysia. Thesecond isto precisely examine the variety of waqf that can be implemented for higher education. This study is an exploration in which the data used were derived from library research. The findings of this study will develop a theory on the diversification of waqf implementations for higher education in Malaysia. Keywords: Diversity, Economic, Instrument of Waqf, Waqf of Higher Education

Abstract

Islamic home financing is a service offered by Islamic banks according to the Islamic principle. In Malaysia, it has been offered since the early 1980s. The demand for Islamic home financing in Malaysia has increased over time. Therefore, this study would like to delve into the short-run and long-run relationship between the factors involved in Islamic home financing. Past studies highlighted the microeconomic factors and macroeconomic factors in Islamic banks that contribute to the growth of Islamic home financing in Malaysia. Thus, this study would include four factors comprised of deposits, liabilities, GDP, and government expenditure. Deposits and liabilities are categorized into microeconomic factors, whereas GDP and government expenditure are macroeconomic factors. The first objective is to identify the short-run and long-run relationship between the factors mentioned above on Islamic home financing in Malaysia. The second objective is to analyze the causality effects of the factors on Islamic home financing in Malaysia. The methodology comprises of quantitative research design. Data collection is based on secondary data collection, which was retrieved through documentation review and statistical highlights from Bank Negara Malaysia. The data comprise the first quarter of 2010 until the second quarter of 2021. Analysis data is conducted through an econometric approach within time series data which is the ARDL test and Granger causality test. The findings of this study would emphasize the importance of microeconomic factors and macroeconomic factors on Islamic home financing. It would encourage the supply and growth of Islamic home financing by Islamic banks in Malaysia in the future.

The objectives of this paper are to analyze the influence of sharia banking organization ethics reputation on Muslims customer loyalty and to analyze the role of satisfaction as a mediating effect on sharia banking organization ethics reputation on Muslims customer loyalty for the sharia banking products and services. Survey with 315 respondents in the city of Malang, Indonesia was conducted to gather information to further understand the situation, to answer the questions raised and to meet the study objectives. Purposive sampling was used to select the relevant respondents. The Structural Equation Model (SEM) is used to analyze the direct and indirect relationship between sharia banking organization ethic reputation, satisfaction and Muslims customer loyalty. The findings of this study showed that all independent variables significantly influenced the dependent variable, both directly and indirectly. Satisfaction as mediating factor has a high positive support to the relationship between organization ethic reputation Muslims customer loyalty. Hence, satisfaction plays an important role to support the perception of ethic reputation of the sharia banking organization in influencing Muslim customer loyalty. In addition, the study also suggests that ethic reputation of an organization also helps in maintaining customer loyalty.
