Abstract

Background: Nutrition problems are one of the public health problems that have never been completely overcome in the world. Based on the fact that the discovery of toddlers with malnutrition is still a problem that cannot be dealt with properly, so researchers are interested in analyzing the relationship between knowledge, attitudes and behavior of mothers with nutritional status in children under five at the nutrition recovery post in Randugunting Village, Tegal City.Method: This study used an observational analytic study design with a cross sectional approach. The population of all mothers who have children under five with poor nutritional status in the Nutrition Recovery Post in Randugunting Village, Tegal City. The research sample was obtained as many as 15 samples using the purposive sampling method.Results: The results of the statistical test showed that there was a relationship between knowledge and nutritional status in children under five with p = 0.044. While maternal attitudes p = 0.119 and maternal behavior p = 1,000 did not have a significant relationship with nutritional status in children under five.Conclusion: From the results of the analysis that has been done it can be concluded that the knowledge variable has a significant relationship to nutritional status in children under five, while the attitude and behavior variables do not have a significant relationship to nutritional status in children under five. Suggestions for public health centers to improve programs that can restore good nutritional status for toddlers, especially mother's knowledge on improving toddler nutrition. Keywords: Nutrition, Knowledge, Attitude, Behavior

Abstract

Background: Smoking is still the biggest problem in the world and causes 5.4 million people to die every year. It is explained that the acute effects caused by smoking can increase heart rate and blood pressure by increasing levels of the hormones epinephrine and norepinephrine due to activation of the sympathetic nervous system. Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that is found in many people in Indonesia and around the world and is still the most important health problem throughout the world and over time this problem is increasing. Hypertension can be caused by an unhealthy lifestyle such as smoking. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between exposure to cigarette smoke and the incidence of hypertension in women in Kauman, Brebes Regency. Method This research is a quantitative study with an observational analytical approach and uses a cross sectional study design. The population in this study were women of productive age 15-64 years who lived in Kauman Village with a total sample of 20 respondents taken using a purposive sampling technique with the inclusion criteria being women aged 36-65 years and having family members who smoked at home. Results: In this study, the results obtained from the Chi-Square test were p value 0.914, if p > 0.05 then there was no significant relationship between the number of active smokers in the family and the incidence of hypertension in women in Kauman, Brebes district. And the p value of 0.045 means that there is a significant relationship between the length of exposure to cigarette smoke and the incidence of hypertension in women in Kauman, Brebes Regency. Conclusion: There is no relationship between the number of active smokers in the family and the incidence of hypertension in women in Kauman Brebes Regency and there is a relationship between the length of exposure to cigarette smoke and the incidence of hypertension in women in Kauman Brebes Regency.

Abstract

Background: Smoking is common among adults and teenagers, especially men. This lifestyle is one of the biggest problems facing the world of health because it causes almost 6 million deaths every year. More than 5 million people die from smoking, while 600 thousand people die from exposure to cigarette smoke. Method: This research uses a quantitative research type, analytical approach, cross-sectional study design. The population in this study were male teenagers in Limbangan Wetan Village, Brebes Regency. Sampling used simple random sampling with a total sample of 30 male teenagers. This research was conducted using the interview method and data collection tools, namely questionnaires. Results: Research shows that the most common age of smokers is 18-24 years old (50%), the highest level of education is high school graduation (56.7%), the highest number of types of smokers smoked is 11-20 cigarettes per day ( 36.7%), 20 respondents were exposed to cigarette advertising (66.7%) and 26 people smoked (86.7%). Conclusion: there is a significant relationship between cigarette advertising and the behavior of adolescent boys in the Limbangan Wetan Village Village, Brebes Regency.
